@MyRoadto195 - You just keep doing you lol. @ Op - If I was to be a vegetarian, I would only do indian dishes. My favourite is dahl. There are plenty of variations but this was one version I was given. To this recipe I would add what I had in the fridge e.g usually spinach and tomatoes or sweet potato or eggplant or…

I had thought people were typing in *kitten* just to be polite in a cheesy way. I'm so *kitten* disappointed.

Hubby is on a low sodium diet due to health issues. He also needs to limit his fluid intake. I don't cook with any salt or add any salt to cooked foods, I read labels as he is on1500mg max per day. So no bacon, no cheese, no packaged meals and no takeaways. All those no's do make me feel sorry for him so when I do a high…

I now do a monthly meal plan and cook freezer meals fortnightly for 2 adults which has saved us quite a bit of money. Previously we were spending between $170 - 230 a week on groceries and now it's $130-180 tops a month. Hubby usually does cereal for brekky and I do brunch. It's Spring here so we are starting to eat a few…

First time round - Vanity. I was a matron of honour and I wanted to look better than the bride. 2nd time round - Performance.... I want to do tough mudder. And then vanity. Gosh and I wonder why people say I'm far too honest for my own good lol but that's my truth.

Hi there, I wouldn't mind some more friends. Feel free to add me

Just a follow up from my last post. Well it was harder for me to keep up with my side of the deal I think, so I had to get clever. We now do freezer meals on weekends and we have a monthly meal schedule. He liked that he had input into our meals and that there is always 'junk food' in the house lol, - homemade baking,…

Yeah, don't be an a**hole

I did weigh food in the beginning to help me get an idea of portion sizes. Then when I thought I had gotten the hang of it I would do a 'maintenance trial' and not weigh food for a bit and if/when the weight started to creep up, I would start weighing food again. I really don't want to be weighing food every day for the…

Congratulations! and good on you for wanting to do it all again :)

Prior to setting a monthly meal plan, I had been spending between $170-$220 a week for 2 adults. We only had a small fridge freezer so couldn't stock up alot. I bought a small upright freezer and this month our groceries came to $134.60 for lunch, dinner and dessert. We already had plenty of cereal, and snacks on hand. I…

Definitely! We get mazafati dates. I think they taste like a brownie.

Hubby gets edema bad and was told to go on a no sodium diet by his drs. On one of the information sheets, there was a note regarding cramps - to check your calcium intake. He hasn't had any cramps as yet.

It's certainly easier when you're doing it together. Hubby and I made a deal (actually he did and I agreed with him - sucker!). I cook, he does the dishes. Which is great because he doesn't like cooking and I don't like doing dishes so win win. Now I just have to convince him to help do prep for bulk freezer meals lol

Sounds great

I put my husband on a diet. He works dayshift and I work afternoon shift. I do as much prep as I can during the day and make our lunches when I get home from work. Eventually I want to go back to the gym which is another reason I want to be super organised. A menu generator sounds great. And having things ready for those…

It's a sistema lunchbox cube. Bacon and egg salad, herbed potatoes, blanched broccoli and a gf brownie. We now have a daiso in our area, so I think I may have have a new obsession.

I do a mock spaghetti Bolognese and spiralize zucchini as the sub for pasta. I don't have a recipe though as I never cook it the same way twice. It's more a go to for using up left over veges.

Just wanted to add that I saw a good tip for people who don't like the taste of lambsfry. Fortunately I do, so I wont be doing it as I think it looks disgusting. Anyway, whizz up lambsfry til it's really fine and put in ice cube trays and freeze. Then when cooking e.g mince (ground beef) add a cube or two and cook mince as…

Offal... Liver, hearts, kidneys etc... With vitamin c for better absorbency. My fave is liver (lambsfry), bacon, onions, gravy. I prefer hearts stuffed (with bread stuffing) and baked. Offal is the quickest way to top up iron levels.

This is probably off tangent, however it may or may not be well known.... My parents would often buy chuck steak, put kiwifruit on it (skin removed) overnight, then fry it the next day. Something to do with the acid breaking down sinew or something like that. It was pretty good. Ok, sorry, back on tangent now lol

I'm gonna save some of these recipes. Thanks

Now that's a better way to eat your cereal ooh la laaaaaa. Lol

I'm guessing this is aimed at me... I tend to do 20 minute dinners (includes prep) during the week as I work arvo shifts. I then do a months worth of freezer meals one weekend a month. Which is more for when I don't want to cook during the week. I didn't think my generalized statement would hit a few nerves lol. You do you…
