geez that's alright! Hubby told me I should've gone to anytime fitness because it's cheaper and more local. I then told him I don't want to be alone in a gym with a strange man at 1 in the morning (I work a/noon shift), and I can only imagine the fiasco if I befriended that said man..... Hubby is now ok with ME paying more…

Well this is more an oddball quirk.... My dad firmly believes that scrambled eggs is a pudding, so as children we had dinner, then scrambled eggs on toast for pudding (no added sugar, just with milk and sometimes parsley and tomatoes). I have yet to find someone with the same quirk :) As an adult, I eat scrambled eggs at…

tbh I walk, then when there's no cars/people around I run, and then walk when I see someone. I call it interval training lol. Maybe find a not so busy trail?

I did end up goin with fernwood... My first pt is tomorrow. Yup, no joining fee so that was a bonus, Really awesome tips though ladies, thanks :)
-
Thanks... that's a great idea :) I think I will probably bite the bullet and go with fernwood at a basic membership, then see if I can book pt sessions when it suits.
-
Are you ready? Best of luck to those participating!

too humbug to trawl the pages :) but yes on the first few pages, I was thinking WHAAAAT that is disgusting gluttonly crap..... to each their own I spose.... which is kinda funny cos normally I am down for that crap lmao

i have a garmin... a vivofit as it's my first pedometer and I don't know if I will tire of it soon - I'm fickle tbh. What I did have my eye on is the garmin forerunner xt910 as it's a triathlon watch which I want to do -long term goal. It all depends on what features you want

Yeah... "She has an odd/weird body shape" is code for "I DON"T KNOW WHAT THE HELL I AM DOING!" so I will find someone else who doesn't know what they're doing, and we're going to stand in the same room as you, and tsk tsk your appearance while you stand there uncomfortably in your underwear and indirectly suggest many…

hi sabrina. Will add you as i need a cheering squad too :)

When I started going walking, I use to get shin splints and after a few weeks I decided to get full length tights and they are money well spent. I'm not as sore and I am able to walk further, also I don't seize if I don't warm down so yes, try some socks.

Anybody?

garmin have a good product range. The Forerunner 910XT caught my eye and then the price made me look away. It's for running, biking and swimming - awesome all rounder

aww thanks... I only decided to do it last weekend and I already walk 4.6km which is quite hilly so I don't think 5k is going to be difficult for me. I'm not a runner, but I thought I would see how I go this year, and do the 10k run next year. I've also had the crazy idea to do tough mudder next year. So I will need to…

well hello to you too lol I will stress I am not a doctor, nutritionist, natural therapist etc etc. If this were me, then I wouldn't be surprised if this post only covered the surface. So my response will be, (jeesh what a catch 22), Just focus on one aspect at a time. Nutrition is more important than weight loss, so you…

I am yet to try this one. For sore joints. c=cup T=tablespoon t=teaspoon 1t turmeric powder 3T protein powder 1/3c sesame seeds 1c dates 1/3c almonds 1T tahini either hulled or unhulled 1T honey or alternative sweetener. I wont be adding sweetener though because I think dates are sweet enough. extra sesame seeds for…

I use to boil up some eggs and leave them in the fridge for a go to snack... oh I'd also cook up a heap of chickpeas then freeze them and then roast them with spices...mmmmmmm chickpeas. Avocadoes on crackers. I also have rice cakes instead of chips to go with pesto, hommus etc
-
that's a good question lol - I had to go get the packet and read it :) It's maca root powder. It has 20+ amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. So you can add it to yoghurt, cereals, smoothies, baking etc.

Too funny - We only have a jug, knives and cooking utensils on one side and the phone and fruit bowl on the other and space is not the issue. I just like to keep it simple too lol
-
ooooh no, I have to play against my resistance - so when I want to try to do somethin often i.e eating breakfast (never use to), I would tell myself 'I will eat breakfast ONCE this week.' then the next day "I will eat breakfast ONCE this week.' and so on because everyday is a new day lol, and when I had done that for a…

awww cool - congratulations!

how about starting with one small change until that is manageable then move onto the next i.e having one less pasta meal a week. Food diaries are great at stating exactly what you're puttin in your mouth too. Horrible things diaries lol. I have looked at mine, and sometimes I just shake my head. I am tempted to lie but who…

added you too :)

hi lindaw8. A vege risotto sounds lovely. I had dhal for dinner tonight. I will need to keep tweaking the recipe though, because it just doesn't quite taste comforting. All the more reason to practice I spose lol. I'm in Australia and beginning to miss winter already

That's healthy grazing! I was proud of myself 4 special K chips. [/quote] oooooh that sounds good - I will have to keep an eye out for those
-
lol I call it grazing too. I'm trying to get myself out of it though, because I now struggle to finish a proper meal... and I don't even know if I'm hungry or just bored when I graze. I nibble on kibble lol, cacao crunch almonds, macadamias goji berries and protein balls I don't get hungry for junkfood though.

My periods make me anaemic, so I do very short walks and tell myself (while I'm walking) that I am massaging my belly to make the pain go away. I also prepare my days meals in advance so i don't dial a pizza in bed. Good luck and you'll figure out what's right for you as you go along
