I hope everyone had a great new year :) thegenesischild, I had that problem in the beginning. I know what my diary SHOULD look like, but it tends to pan out differently during the day. For a while, I kept my diary private, so I could just come to terms with what was I eating without feeling judged by anyone else. My knee…

Goals for this week:* Let my knee heal (unfortunately, this means no walking for most of this week, but I'll get some strength training in). * Drink plenty of water. * Reach my goal weight by the 1st (I want to be 65 pounds down). I had two amazing things happen to me in 2014. First, we adopted our dog, Marston, from the…

Tomorrow is day twenty of my home cookin' challenge. I'm feeling great. For the past week, I've had ridiculous cravings for sweet and sour pork, so I decided to make it. I won't be eyeballing the sauce recipe in the future, because it was very sour. Next week, I'm going to get all of the ingredients to make pho. I can't…

If you add this to ice cream while its room temperature, it'll act like a magic shell. It's amazing. I like adding honey instead of stevia/splenda.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas. I purchased the Wii Fit and Wii U Fit meter for my boyfriend and me. I still plan on using my FitBit but the meter was $10.00, and I wanted to try it out and compare to my Zip. My boyfriend has lost 85 pounds, and I am so incredibly proud of him. He is such an inspiration to…

Ten days of home cookin'! Not bad. I'm having serious pho cravings this week. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the ingredients to make it, but I found a nice market not too far from me where I can find ingredients for a great price. Maybe I'll make that as our Christmas dinner.

Firstly, congratulations on the amazing progress! I read a blog entry last night that summed up everything I've experienced with losing and gaining weight. I've experienced the same feeling in the past. She explained that being fat, though you are bigger, is like being invisible. There's comfort in it, because no one…

Today, I am proud of myself for not binging on a day that I normally would. I was under a lot of stress at work and in reading a lot of my old journal entries, it was always a source of stress and whenever I was under a considerable amount of stress, I would binge. And today, I was very close. I am also proud that I…

When I was at my highest weight, I strongly considered weight loss surgery and began doing research. What I learned is that it definitely is hard work. But I figured if I have to work hard anyway, why not just do it without surgery? I had to factor in the potential complications during/after surgery. Though I was assured…

Great job on the workouts, Michelle! I've been struggling lately with staying within my calories as well, so I will echo that goal. I've actually changed my goal to losing 1.5 per week instead of 2, because it's recommending that I eat 1,560 calories per day, and it just doesn't feel like enough.

Maybe this is the perfect opportunity for you to learn your triggers during the next two weeks and how you can move past them. We can't control what happens to us or the stress we feel, but we can control how we react and let them effect us. It's just rice with mixture of broth, crushed tomatoes, onions, garlic, jalapeno…

Sorry things have been rough for you, Unknown. I hope things are a lot less stressful for you next week. I tried a few new recipes this week. First, I made pizza dough. I had the biggest craving for pizza, and it was perfect. I'm making it again today with pesto, artichokes, spinach and zucchini. Today, I tried making…

I did eat out three times this month (twice for work events and once for a birthday), but I've done well with sticking with what I planned on eating. I think I might move this challenge to next month as well. I love that I'm experimenting even more in the kitchen.

It's not really about motivation. It's about creating habits you want to keep. If you feel your motivation stopping, you're probably overdoing it (well, that's from my experience). This isn't just about the end goal. It's also about how you reach it. So if you're having problems, don't look for motivation. Change how you…

Telling me that I should eat breakfast (or more often) to jump start my metabolism.

This week is exhausting, but I'm doing okay. I've had days where I am dragging my feet out the door to take a walk, but I do it anyway, and it feels really good to get over that "I don't wanna" part at the beginning. I'm doing well with the no eating out, but I think I'm getting something for lunch today. I'll see how I…

I haven't shaved in years. I used to spend so long shaving and though I'll do it once in a while out of curiosity, I ask myself, "Why?" I understand why people think it's disgusting. It's just what we're conditioned to do. My mom would not allow me to shave when I was young but because all the girls around me were doing…

Great idea, Unkown! Spinach Walnut Pesto Ingredients* 12 oz. spinach * 6 garlic cloves (I like lots of garlic so feel free to add less) * Roughly 4 tablespoons of olive oil (I like it a little thicker, but I'll add a bit as I blend) * Salt and pepper to taste * 1 oz. of walnuts I blend it until it's smooth. This batch…

* Walk to and from work everyday and during all of my breaks. * Though I'm going out to dinner on Monday, I'd like that to be the only time I eat out. * Learn a new recipe.

That's great, Unknown! Today, I photographed an event for work and was on my feet for most of the day. At the end, I was so exhausted but still managed to walk two miles home. Very proud of myself. I have to be up early tomorrow for day two of the event. I'm going to wear a dress I couldn't fit into a couple months ago!…

I hope dinner was delicious. I just realized that on Monday I am taking my boyfriend out to dinner for his birthday, so I'll make that exception. I think I want to do this in again in January as well. I've been doing well with making all of my own meals. A little worried about the next couple days. I will be on my feet all…

$400.00 a month for two. We're usually under budget.

I'm training for a marathon and tracking my progress on Strava, an app that uses GPS to let me know my mile time. I also have the ability to create routes. If fitbit has the ability to do this, then that's all I need to use. It'll be nice having just one program that tracks everything for me. I don't log my calories burned…

I'm so glad you got a FitBit! I can't wait for the Surge to come out. I am so interested to see how the heart rate monitor and GPS works. I always forget to put on my heart rate monitor on, so it'll be nice to have it all in one. For now, I love my trusty little Zip. I don't have any major goals this week. Skittles2183…

What a great challenge! A few years ago, I challenged myself not to eat out for a whole month, and I loved it so much I did it for two! I'd love to challenge myself and do it again this month.
-
That's normal. My heart rate was insane while walking when I was at my highest weight. It just takes time for your body to get used to it. If you're using a heart rate monitor, it's kind of fun seeing improvement over the months.

Goals this week: * Walk to and from work everyday * Make it to the gym at least twice * Don't eat out (I made food for the week, so this shouldn't be too difficult) * Rest when I need it. I tend to push too hard and do too much, and I don't want to burn myself out.

Incredible work! Congrats on your progress :)

Today, I was very close to not going to the gym, but I went for thirty minutes. I don't think I'm quite ready to go for a full hour yet. I think I'm doing well with not letting stress get to me. I'm realizing that whether or not I binge, I will still feel uncomfortable sometimes and that food never really solved anything.…
