I love running in the cold, as long as it's not actively sleeting or snowing. It's snowing this morning and it's also pretty slick outside. I won't run in this because I'm not willing to risk injury. I tend to push myself harder when it's cold.

Definitely have your gait assessed at a running store. That's going to be your best best for stability and to help reduce injury. I LOVE Asics Kayanos, but I also went through gait analysis and everything. They have been the best for me and I have tried many different kinds. Someone mentioned how they didn't feel Nike's…

I definitely agree with all of the above statements on going to a running store. Any running store that you go to should be able to assess your gait and how you proportion your weight while standing. Personally, I have always had the best luck with Asics Kayano's. Good luck and enjoy your running!

There is a great routine that I like for the butt/ham strings on Slim in 6 from Beachbody. I don't know the specific exercises, but those are killer. You do have to kneel and don't know if that is something you could tolerate.

Eating large amounts of protein will also do this, especially if you aren't getting the protein balanced out with other nutrients.

I usually buy whatever is on sale at Target for my workout clothes. However, I am large chested and so I choose to spend alot more on my sports bra. I suffered a stress fracture in my right foot back in Nov of last year and it has taken an insanely long time to heal. I just started back this past week and will be on Day 3 of Wk 1 starting Monday. On the other days I do strength training. I don't want any more injuries. Good luck to everyone!

Thank you both SO much for responding!! It feels so good just to know that there are others who are in the same position. We do live to larger towns, that I could drive to, but it literally takes me a minute and a half to walk to work. :) Kind of hard to let go of that and just keep trying to be patient until a spot comes…

Thank you! Those are some ideas that I have not thought of. No, as of right now I can't get off nights. I've been waiting almost 2 years for a day position to open up. We are a critical access hospital in a rural area and we have a very low turnover. I am just going to continue to be persistent and WILL accomplish my goals.
