Ones that fit you well and are suited to the running you will be doing. We can name any brand you like but it may not suit you. Get fitted at a running store.0

Asics are good...
I have the kayanos and love them. It's all about having outrages coloured shoes at my gym and they seem to have them in some cool colours aswell.
I have had Nike Free Runs but recently stopped using them and went back to my kayanos because I fell off my step at the gym and twisted my ankle. I just feel like they don't have enough support. Most Nike shoes don't offer as much support I have found.
Just go in and try a whole heap on see what feels good for you. Biggest advice I can give you is don't skimp on running shoes or you'll pay for it in other ways.0 -
You have to get fitted, but you can also discover your favorite shoes through trial and error. Before I started running I was walking and hiking a lot anyway. I discovered I like my shoes on the lighter side, with a flexible front half, nice arch support and a bigger toe box (or my pinky toe would suffer). After a year of consistent running, I like the same shoes... ma favorite brand happens to be Adidas (the lighter more flexible models). I want want want to love Brooks because they are THE running shoe, but I haven't yet found one with a large enough toe box and arch support (I haven't tried all the models yet, I keep finding Adidas that I like
Good luck!0 -

This! And take a pair of worn shoes with. It often helps to analyse how you wear your shoes down which gives clue to to the type of shoe that will work.0 -
Definitely have your gait assessed at a running store. That's going to be your best best for stability and to help reduce injury. I LOVE Asics Kayanos, but I also went through gait analysis and everything. They have been the best for me and I have tried many different kinds. Someone mentioned how they didn't feel Nike's support well, and I would definitely agree with that statement. Good luck!0

This. Just because I my Adidas Kanadia trail running shoes doesn't mean they will work for you. We all have different feet.0 -
I'm using KSwiss Tubes to run in for now. I want to get fitted, but I don't have any running stores close to me so it will be a while before that happens.0
