I suggest you underestimate your exercise (if you are loggin it) and over estimate your food slightly.. That's what I do to be sure.. Also check your measurements with a tape measure.. Perhaps with all the exercise you are adding muscle but reducing in size.. Too early to see big results but be patient.

try not eating back or recording your exercise calories.. Just focus on diet with MFP and exercise when you can.. Don't trust the Gym machines or even the personal monitors...

See in my opinion I think this could be wrong. The difference is psychological perhaps.. People gain weight when they quit because they replace smoking with Food.. EG: Keeping the hands busy.. All to do with the cravings and not metabolism.. I think the drug companies are happy to perpetuate this rumour..

Maybe the sayings "smoking boosts your metabolism and helps you lose weight" was a rumour "fact" produced by the drug companies to sell more ciggies and ensure they don't lose their overweight customers...
