  • The issues of running a HM with a non-runner former professional footballer; - "Do you have water?" - "Yes", a few miles in pulls out a 330ml bottle - Starting mile pace 09:30 - "We need to keep it steady", shortly after 1 mile split 08:51, mile eleven 13:03!!! - Plans a route with a mad inclines at 7 and 9 miles - Starts…
  • A monthly question. This year has been challenging mentally, emotionally and physically (for some of us). How are you coping? What do you do to get back on track? What challenges do you face and how are you managing them? (hint: if you are not it's time to do so). or Remember when you were 10-13 ish? What were your…
  • Good morning All, Bigs hugs to so many. You are a legend @katharmonic and we are here for you as you have so often been for us. We see the numbers of cases and deaths from C-19 however the truth of how many are affected or are no longer with us as a side effect and enforced changes. Having had a 'negative' day yesterday…

  • I'm weighing in on Sundays
  • All round to beka's new pool! 🏊 Hope you get sorted quickly!
  • Went out in the lovely drizzle for a cool run and my first half marathon since 21st March. Managed my standard time of 2:18, felt good at 8 miles and was thinking maybe extend this to 15 miles, after 11 miles I was counting down the yards and working out where on the route I could stop running!
  • @hamsterwheel6 how is the new spin bike working out? @Scott6255 I'm hoping now the gyms have reopened I might pick up a rowing machine, there must be some about @Faebert it is disappointing that some people cannot see how awesome you are, that is their short-coming, not yours @Camaramandy648 A-flippin'-mazing ultra!!!! You…
  • Same here on the equipment @Avidkeo - I am just waiting for the mass sell off once gyms reopen and people want their lounges back from the exercise equipment they bought in lock down. Not sure if your area is the same?
  • Start back with a very steady 10k in 65 minutes. My training plan is in place for 5 runs a week (2 x short, 2 x 10-15k and 1 x long), see how my body feels but no excuses!
  • What have I done! Gone off the rails, put on 20 pounds and whilst the job I am doing is physically hard work it is not running and the marathon is 9 weeks away. Okay, reset, target, plan.
  • Lesson learnt. A month in to working as a landscape gardener and I have put on another 8 pounds. It turns out feeling cream crackered at the end of a tough day working does no good if you stop tracking your food and eat crap and don't do any running. That is a full stone on since lockdown began. TIme to switch MFP back on!

  • Sorry I have not been around, busy times for many of us to make ends meet. Happy with my 12 months so far. Catch up when I can.

  • A quick question for my friends in North America and Australia or New Zealand (please say which country) - if travel restrictions were lifted when do you think you would next travel abroad to a less developed country, say Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Thailand, Cambodia,Sri Lanka or the like?

  • I'm not sure I miss the office as much as the routine. I definitely miss the walking as part of my commute. At home I am fortunate the we have a room made into a study and when this first started I was working 12 hours a day 6 days a week. Now I am working 8 hours a day 4 days a week. As soon as I sit down in the lounge…
  • Depends on the egg type. Medium - caged around £1.40 ($1.85) a dozen, free range £1.80 ($2.35), organic £2.40 ($3.10) a dozen.
  • Sorry to hear your sad news about your cousin @katharmonic A race - an actual race! Great news @janejellyroll and looking forward to hearing how you get on. Great going in April @Camaramandy648 which was somewhat better than my 24 miles for the month. Glorious running gear everywhere!!! Right off to find the shoes I know I…
  • Speed test today, then walked a mile and 4 miles back. Bad decision to try hard as Sunday's long run has gone up from 8.8 miles to 9.2 in the training plan.
  • I am not going to give up on my 2020 target though without the 7 miles a day to and from work I am dropping further behind. I will stick to the marathon training plan in hope that September's race will happen and at least get decent miles in. I will stick with your advice on HR @PastorVincent and it turns out my HR is…
  • Lovely run this morning, went out for 7 miles and it was so nice I went for 10. A shame I didn't have water and gels as I think there was more there. As a bonus going out at 6:30 I saw 4 cyclists, 4 dog walkers and one fellow runner in 7 miles on the trail, lately there has been that many every 1/2 mile.
