I let myself go over on calories once a week, and that is because I have on meal where I indulge myself. I try and keep portion size down, but I usually have a little booze and something yummy to eat. I stay on track with my other meals for the day though. I don't like the idea of beating yourself up or restricting your…

The negativity comes from being told that what is working for you is wrong, and that they way someone else does it is right. There are have been so many threads like this lately and it is driving me bonkers. What works for one person does not work for every person. Each person has to find what works for them. Just because…

Again, people, what works for some does not work for others. Having one "cheat meal" a week where I don't over analyze the calorie content works for me, for now. You know why? Because if I have a little treats throughout the week I tend to binge. As in, I can't have just one. But apparently you know my better than I do...…

That is what my husband said when we had two cats...(Bwahahahaha).

3 cats here (and a doggus).

There is no magic way to do this, it is just hard work and determination. Count your calories, but never go under 1200 NET for the day. It is hard to start exercising, but I swear to you, once you do you will actually have MORE energy. As someone that has suffered from anxiety and depression, nothing has helped me more…

You know, if we all ate like we did 80 years ago and stopped relying on medicene, we would all live WAY longer! Oh wait...
-
Yeah, that is where I was looking :) I love me a good deal, but the mixed reviews were slightly concerning.

I don't see an issue with it. In fact, I have one "cheat meal" a week, so that i can indulge a bit. What I am leaning is that I can make healthier choices even with my cheat meal. So if you are going to have an "off" weekend, just try to make some healthier choices, but don't feel bad for indulging a bit! Just get back on…

You are hungry because 1000 cals a day is not enough food, especially since you do not always eat your exercise cals back. YOu need a minimum of 1200!

Can you pack a little cooler full of snacks for while you are on the road? Fill it with yummy healthy snacks. Also things like fiber one bars are great & filing. Taco Bell - Try their fresco menu. It replaces cheese with a pico de gallo and is actually really yummy. It is also baout portion. Don't order 5 tacos ;) I am…

I LOVE cereal. I could eat it for dinner 5 nights a week LOL I have cut back and now only eat it on the weekends for breakfast, and make sure I measure it out. 1 1/2 cups is all I will do. It is certainly not the huge overflowing bowl that I would really like, but at least it satisfies that urge.

I have a hard time letting things like this go, obviously LOL I just do not get why people can not accept that we don't all fit into their neat little box; but I realize I am talking in circles. I should just go and take the 45 different medications that one poster assumes I must be on ;)

It is HARD, but it is doable. The first few times I had to take multiple 5 second rests. Now the only thing I cannot get through all the way is the pushups & sometimes the jump rope (my poor calves...). I see a huge improvements and I am only on day 5! If I can do it, I know that you can. I am rediculously out of shape. I…

What is even more ridiculous is that she assumes that I am on medication at all... Although I am glad to hear healthy eating has improved your sisters health & energy some! That is great :)

If you have a Trader Joes by you, they often have really good prices on produce that you would never find at the super market. I also do a LOT of shoping at Target, most have pretty substantial grocery sections, and there store brand stuff (Market Pantry) is all great.

This is just getting hilarious.

Something that helps me when I am having those days is to write out what I am feeling in regards to food, but also in other things. Am I stressed? Am I sad? What emotion am I trying to bury under food? I have buried them for so long it is really hard to figure out what is really going on, but writing helps me. I even do it…

Red Wine, Champagne and Captain and Diet are the only drinks I will have.

This is exactly it in a nutshell. We all have different issues with food that got us to the point in which we needed to lose weight. Which means we all need different ways of getting it off. Everyone has different obstacles to overcome in this process.
-
And this just confirms my point 10 fold. And guess what, my doctor and my therapist and 100% on board with the changes I have made. But I guess I should listen to internet strangers instead, since they obviously know better. Whoda thunk.

Yep, I change it if I have a gain on my "official" weigh in day. In the past I have stuck my head in the sand about too many things, so I need to log everything, including weight gains, to keep myself accountable.

This is amazing.

OK, cool :) The push-ups are what are killing me right now as well! I think I will stick with level 1 for the 10 days and then move on. That seems like a good plan :)

This. Planned Parenthood has a slidding scale, so your visit could be free or very inexpensive. Just make an appt so you don't have to be there for 12 hours ;) Having your period every 2 weeks is not normal, and could be a sign of an underlying issue. Bloodwork and probably a pap are in order.
-
My damn thighs. They hang on for dear life.
-
Were you doing the advanced versions of all the exercises by the time you moved on?
-
Yeah, your husband's expectations are WAY too high. I would have a serious talk with him and tell him that 1-2lbs per week is the best way to lose weight. And of course a cheat meal is OK every once in awhile! In fact, I have one a week. That is what works for me. It sounds like you are doing a great job. You just need to…

I think what bugs me most about this post and some of the responses is the "hollier than thou" attitude that I see. Those that strongly disagree must do so because we know we are wrong. Or we just don't really know what is best for us yet. Yep, the OP hit a nerve, but it has nothing to do with knowing she is right. It is…

Find a lifestyle that works for you, and don't let others (in life or on MFP) make you feel lesser for it. If low carb works for you, awesome. If everything in moderation does? Great! Eating clean is easiest for you? YAY! No one way is right, and no one way works for everyone. Just make sure you are doing it slow and…
