  • I am forty something as well...and proud of it :) My story is similar to yours in the sense I was a skinny girl up until about 12 years ago...then the metabolism slowed. Horrrible. I ramped up the exercise over the past few years, but still was not losing weight. I started keeping track of what I ate in Februay then in…

  • I did Warrior Dash this January in Lake Wales, Florida! My friends and I had so much fun we are probably all going to do it again. BTW: We were all in COSTUME for the dash. The crazier you look, the more fun you will have :) Trust me, if you do decide to wear a costume, there will be someone at the race who looks 10 times…
  • Someone already mentioned Runner's World. Runner's World had a GREAT training plan for a 1/2 marathon for beginner's in the August 2011 issue. (In fact it's the one I am following.) They might have that info on their site. Definitely worth checking out.
  • It's funny you mention "clean eating"...that's exactly what I have been trying to do for the past few weeks. I picked up a magazine called "Clean Eating" this weekend and a lot of the recipes look delicious! Here's the link to magazine's site, in case you are interested. http://www.cleaneatingmag.com/ BTW: Great job with…

  • I would love to be on a team in Sept, but I will not have 5 lbs to lose. After I have kicked the crap out of August, I will be within a couple of lbs of my goal weight. However, I am tough competitor. So if there is room for someone on team who will do all the challenges and earn a team points thru effort rather than…

  • Have you committed to signing up for a race yet? Having goal will make all the hard work worthwhile and make the training/effort go a little easier.
  • I love it....as long as there's not lightening and thunder to go along with the rain. :) I say go for it....you'll stay cool and probably get a great run in.

  • I still weigh 131.4 - dammit! As for the 100 mile challenge, I can definitely crank out an additional 5 miles for the team, possibly more. I am following a very regimented training plan for a 1/2 marathon, so I will have to review it when I get home to see where I stick in some extra miles...but 5 miles extra for sure.…
