  • whoa!!! - I didn't realize alcohol was such a touchy subject! I am not a routine binge drinker. I am a one or two drink type person if I am drinking and that might be once every couple of weeks. I'm just saying in extreme situations I might drink a little more than normal (and feel hung over) and that is when I get the…
  • Great question and thanks for all of the suggestions to work with plain yogurt!
  • I think I'm pear. My arms.
  • I love Zumba and I believe that in order to exercise, you have to find something you like to do and WANT to do in order to keep up with it. I use a heart rate monitor and I do a live class and Kinect Zumba Rush (which is stellar by the way). I weigh about 130 and burn about 400 calories in an hour workout (depending on the…

  • 64 oz or 8 8oz cups of water is the general recommendation. However, a more specific recommendation I have heard over and over is half your body weight in ounces. I weigh 130 lbs so I need to drink 65oz at least. But, I do drink a lot extra due to exercise making me thirsty and I use water to try to suppress…
  • I was at the doctor for a checkup and they took my blood pressure and the nurse asked me if I was a "runner". Never being 100% on anything, I wishy washy told her I had started last April but don't run that fast, or marathons, etc. She told me she could tell because my heart beat was so strong. My first goal in exercising…
  • I'm struggling with the eliptical machine. I use a Precor at home and it was saying for 40 minutes at a resistance of 10 and a little over 100 steps per minute (where I am sweating profusely) that I am burning about 390 calories per session. I also use cardio trainer on my phone at the same time and it is reasonably close.…
  • EXACTLY
  • They've been talking about donuts all day at work even though we're having a firmwide weight loss challenge. Seems like everything just revolves around food! Which is fine if you are not dieting but if you are, it becomes painfully obvious.
  • Oatmeal Yogurt 1/2 percent milk
  • Check out Alloy.com..
  • We have Zumba on our Xbox Kinect and love it. My issue is that if you do the 45 minute sessions, you have pretty much been through all of the songs and all of the moves. I wish there was more variety. Zumba 2 is out so I might try that. I prefer Kinect because I think it forces you to be a little more exact with the moves.
  • I prefer Kinect to Wii as I think Kinect might force your moves to be a little more precise. With that said, I have done Zumba, Just Dance 3, and Dance Central 3. I like the Zumba (1) but I am missing the variety of moves and songs. Seems like the same thing over and over. I plan on checking out Zumba 2. For Dance Central…
  • I've always had a big belly too. Add 3 babies to that, and it is even worse. The only time it is "flat" is when I binge drink the night before and am completely dehydrated. So, I've attributed it to that is where I carry water. Is that what hypertension is? I'll have to look that up. I just get tired of people asking me if…
  • Welcome!! I am originally from SE MI but now in W MI :-)... Good luck!!! Love MFP!
  • Mine was a combination of things: Seeing myself in a wedding I stood up in the previous year with a huge gut. Not being able to cross my legs Wanting to prove myself wrong regarding my statement saying "I can't lose weight no matter what I do". Learn self control Seeing a ton of cute clothes on polyvore that I couldn't wear
  • We recently had a lunch and learn at work. Unfortunately, you have to buy this: http://www.enasco.com/product/WA24678 but it ranks Males and Females by age and then level of activity (sedentary/Mod. active/Active). According to the scale, it says I should be taking in 2,0000 to maintain my current weight assuming I stay…
  • I think there is a 2 mile per hour pace in the saved exercises. For the total time I am there, I divide it by two and say that is how long I walked. Not a very exact science but I think it is worth tracking because with eating only what my body needs, I can feel it needing more food when I do go to places where you walk a…
  • Amazing!!! You look so toned too!
  • Ahhhhh mazing!!! keep up the good work and thanks for inspiring us!
  • I do 300 each for three meals and snacks (try to eat every couple of hours). This is on the days where I have a routine which starts at 7am and ends when I go to bed. 300 calories for dinner is tough though. there are two days a week where I don't exercise at all so I am usually over in my calories (within reason) due to…
  • I never hit my potassium dietary goal. Have been wondering the same thing! Thanks!
  • Way to go!!!!

  • I've been tracking my weight everyday same time every morning and on same scale for the past two months. I noticed it climbs a few days prior to TOM and stays high. Then by the time TOM is over, it plummets. It has to be due to the water and the bloating they talk about!
  • I heard during one of my work's health presentations that 1,200 was an "old" number. It should really be 1,500 (for a female). When I first started MFP, it was just to check it out. I set myself up and it assigned me 1,200 calories a day. I wonder if I need to switch to 1,500 so that my body isn't thinking it's starving…
  • I wonder this too. I usually drink it fast too.
  • Yes, I drink plain water too. I like the benefits of green tea so I will continue to drink it (and the caffeine). But I get so bored with water that I just started drinking the powerade zero. I probably get about 6 cups of plain water a day and then the tea and powerade and then 1 cup of milk which I wouldn't even think to…
