I get so frustrated with family physicians. Spend $20 to wait 30 minutes, only to be seen for about 30 seconds! She moved my arm this way, that way, this way, that way, then said, "Continue taking IBProfin for the pain and if it hasn't gone away in another week, here is the orthopedic to go see." And that was that! I am…

Good morning everyone! I have an 11:15am doctor's appt for my shoulder ... I'll let y'all know how it goes!

I'm a little late posting, but the only activity I'm doing today is applying ice and heat to my shoulder! I talked to a physical therapist friend last night, and she said no running until it starts feeling better. (Right now it seems to be getting worse as the days go on.) And if it's not feeling at least a little better…

Hi all! I'm taking another rest day today and tomorrow. I'm supposed to run 7 miles on Saturday, and my back/neck/shoulder is still very sore from Boot Camp on Tuesday. (It's amazing how much you use those muscles when you run!) I'm hoping I'll feel well enough by Saturday!

Hi all, I didn't make it to sprints this morning. Last night at Boot Camp I pulled something in my neck/should and spent all evening icing/heating/popping Tylenol. Still woke up too stiff and in too much pain to go run around for an hour. This is the first sprinting class I've missed in 8 weeks! I am bummed.

Congrats! Welcome!!! :)

Oh, and I'll be going to Boot Camp this evening!

Good morning runners! I'm back from the mountains ... and very sad about it. I did manage to get in a a 5-mile run while there. I was supposed to run 6, but I gave myself some slack because running around the top of a mountain is very different than running in my local neighborhood! My hip flexors was yelling at me…

Yeah, there are lots of heart rate monitors out there, but the GPS is so helpful for long runs! I found that Polar has one, but it's about $100 more than the Garmen. And doesn't look any less clunky.

I am looking at getting the new Garmen Forerunner 405 GPS + Heart Rate Monitor to help me keep track of distance and calories on my runs. Only problem is my wrists are really small and when I tried on the Garmen, it was really big and clunky. I didn't try on the Heart Rate Monitor band yet, but I am a little concerned that…

Good morning, runners! No run for me today. My husband and I are leaving in a few hours for the mountains this weekend. I plan on running a 6-miler while I'm there, so wish me luck - the terrain isn't as easy as my local neighborhood streets! :) Have a great long weekend!
-
LOL Rest from running, maybe, but certainly not REST! I consider rest sleeping. :)

You're not a slug ... just a gimp at the moment. :) But you will be healed soon!!!

I tried to but MFP wasn't working! I couldn't ge the site to come up! :-P Got up at 6am for "Fat-Burning Pilates." It's a great workout video by Ellen ... something. Forget her last name. No run for me today - I am SORE from sprints yesterday!

I know we can't spot-reduce when it comes to losing fatty areas ... but does anybody have suggestions to help shrink my inner thighs? I run and do other cardio, but it's a spot that just won't budge.

LOL "Dreadmill" ... what a perfect name!
-
I hope you feel better soon! Sometimes all it takes to get back out there is to post here and tell someone you're gonna run. :) Gotta love the accountability of this running group! Thanks for the shout-out!

Good morning, runners! Did the usual Wednesday morning sprints. Today it went like this ... 1-mile warm-up 6 200s 1 400 4 200s 1-mile warm-up My legs are tired! Have an awesome day. :)
-
Rest day for me. It wasn't supposed to be, but I couldn't get myself out of bed this morning for Pilates, and I am busy tonight! Oh well, sprints are tomorrow so I'll make up for it then. :)

OK I'm going to start a Q&A! What does everyone do to avoid those ugly "binge" moments? My sweet spot is candy. To avoid eating a giant bag (aka 500 calories) of gummy worms, I get a Blow Pop. It's satisfying, and takes a while to eat!

Great run Tricia! I ran an easy 3 this morning. It's a BUSY week so I have to squeeze in my runs and workouts when I can!
-
hey everyone! no run for me today. :)
-
Ran 6 miles this morning ... and the last 2 were rough! I made the mistake of sleeping in and not heading out for the run until 9:30am. It was already 75 degrees by then, and almost 80 when I finished. Oh well, I made it!
-
3 wonderful miles this morning!
-
30 minutes is AWESOME! if you can do 30, you can train up to 60, and if you can do 60 minutes, you can train up to 90 minutes ... and so on :) you should check out the MFP Runner's Club on the fitness message board - there are lots of great running tips on there and people who run WAY more than me!!! good luck, and i look…

Hi Purple Team! My name is Alison, and I'm 24, married to my favorite man in the world, and we have two little beagles. (Check out my pics!) I live in Richmond, Virginia, work as a graphic designer, and I love to run! I am planning on running my second half marathon this November. I don't have much to lose but I'm excited…

What is so funny is I was just thinking to myself, "My goodness I sure can be unproductive at work when I get sucked into the message boards for a day!" LOL

I got sick of salads too! Here are a few meat/veggie ideas: Stir-fries (w/ PAM and a little bit of olive/canola oil, or low-sodium chicken broth) Veggie skewers on the grill w/ chicken or shrimp Stuffed green bell peppers (w/ extra lean ground turkey) You can spice it any way you like - I loooove Montreal Steak Seasoning…
