Totally agree. It's easy to get carried away with jerky -- any jerky. My brother makes venison jerky. Mmmmmm... Makes me want to go hunting.

I think it's a fairly common experience. I'm not hungry after hard workouts either when I'm meeting all my basic nutritional needs. I usually let my body take the lead on that -- unless I'm trying to gain -- then I would try to eat back the calories a bit with light protein-rich foods like greek yogurt.

Going to depend on your height, weight and age too. Here's a calculator that will give you an idea of your BMR (base metabolic rate) or 'calories needed to stay alive' (organ function and such): http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

As someone who travels, I can relate to the pizza and take aways. If I know I'm going to have to 'dine out' I adjust to low-sodium, low-fat, high protein foods during the day, so I can 'reward' myself with dining out. If I stick with it, then pizza/take aways. If not, I take away a salad with protein (f.i., grilled…

Sounds like a classic case of chin splints. Make sure you are stretching the calf and lower leg muscles before and after your walk/jogs and occasionally throughout the day. Sometimes putting ice on the chins helps too (20 min 2x a day) helps too. Also, get a new pair of running/walking shoes if you didn't before you…

You may want to check out Unjury protein as well. My neighbor's child was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder (GSD, or glycogen storage disorder) ten years ago. Unjury protein was THE recommended supplement for this condition because it was the purest form of protein available without 'performance enhancing'…

As a former competitive runner, I can say that running is great cardio and your leg muscles may tone up, but you'll need a little more than running to strengthen and tone your core and upper body -- sIt ups, push ups, jumping jacks and a little weight training will help tone your body overall. Running 5k three times a week…

In my case, it could kill me. Had to pull over while driving once and 'nap' (caught the headache and head-bobs coming on for no apparent reason) due to an exposure at a restaurant while traveling. I asked for maple syrup for waffles and they served me the cheap stuff. Hard to tell the difference when it's in a little sauce…

Yes on avoiding HFCS. I noticed my body had a poor response to HFCS in the 1970s -- long story how. Irregardless, I can't even eat a cracker without reading the box first. Basically, it knocks me out. I remeber snacking on some crackers at work once and getting a horrible case of the head-bobs and falling asleep at my…
