  • Double chocolate is not bad with water, pretty good with skim milk. Will definitely try the chocolate PB on the next go-round.....
  • Wholesale clubs like costco can allow you to buy some high protein "real food" items that cost about the same or less than many whey powders and approximately the same amount of protien per calorie. Check out their greek yogurt, chicken breast, and egg beaters type products. I use them almost daily and as a result have…
  • Yeah, don't worry about exceeding your macros so much- Exceeding in healthy fats are fine. Low GI carbs won't kill you either. Watch your sodium, bad fats, and simple sugars and you'll survive.
  • It is good stuff. I mix it in my protein drinks with chocolate whey powder and oatmeal that has been ground to a powder. FYI, The one pound bag is a better value, or just search for peanut flour for a cheaper alternative......

  • What you need depends on your current protein intake. I use them whey mixes when I can't eat . I also consume with my meals if it's not going to contain enough protein. There are a few good low cal protein sources if you'd prefer food over shakes. Egg whites, or the "egg beaters" type products have similar protein per…
  • Good for you- heavy lifting will help you maintain muscle mass during weight loss. I would take a look at the 5x5 strength program. It is a basic program on a few basic exercises, with the back squat being the foundation of the program. Also, starting strength can be a good resource. You can do a websearch for those Oh,…
  • Pineapple is just so wrong on a pizza. :)
  • I have always been a night eater. I can eat a light breakfast and lunch, but trying to control night eating was very difficult. I saved half of my daily caloric intake for Supper and food afterwards. I lost a good deal of weight last year eating this way.
  • I have also started substituting regular granola bars and a chocolate protein drink for protein bars. It's a few more calories but much more satisfying to me.
  • Common sense stuff worked for me. Get the junk out the house. Also get the calorie dense foods minimized. Peanut butter is my current kryptonite and is best left out of my site. be sure to have a good option to eat in the house. Get to know your body. Figure out how many calories it takes to generally satisfy you. I…
  • I had similar episodes during the latter stages of my diet. I remember almost blacking out at the gym a few times after an exercise. Shortly thereafter I normalized my caloric intake to a maintenance level. The problem went away a few weeks later.
  • The "vitamin shop" stores sell a couple of flavors. I buy them online But they are not cheap- $2 or so each. I just bought a sampler and have been pretty happy with the flavors I've tried so far. The Cinnamon roll quest bar heated a few seconds in the microwave is my favorite so far. It tastes like a snickerdoodle to me.
  • I use whey powder, egg white omelets, non-fat greek yogurt, and chicken breasts. I grill 8-10 breasts at a time and store them in the refrigerator. 93% ground beef also works pretty well and can be seasoned with taco seasoning or something similar. On the go, whey protein bars are portable but aren't the most calorie…
  • I second the optimum nutrition gold standard. Not bad at all with water, actually good with skim milk. Fairly cheap on Amazon.
  • Egg whites, chicken breast, fat free greek yogurt, and 90% (or higher)ground beef are my main "real food"sources. I supplement with whey protein bars and whey powder when needed.
  • Try adding soluble fiber to your diet apples and oatmeal. Also try some Fish Oil. Make Olive oil your oil of choice.
  • Just bought mine at costco a week ago. So far I haven't been impressed. It left ice chunks in frozen drinks, and gobs of ice cream in the milkshake( OK, OK, it was a cheat day) Even my protein mix blended better in a shaker bottle. I'm thinking of returning it.
  • Lower body- dumbell lunges and walking lunges are great for the legs and glutes.

  • I'm sure heat plays a role. But when I run, I definitely can tell a difference in performance/endurance based on my diet.
  • You can eat virtually unlimited quantities of just about any green vegetable and the caloric content is minimal. Asparagus, green beans, cabbage, celery, lettuce, spinach, etc. My lunch is often a lean meat with a green vegetable. MFP is free. Try it for a month and see what success you have.
  • Walking is beneficial. Swimming is a great idea if you have pool access. It also might be worth trying an elliptical. Some people report better feeling joints with high doses of fish oil. You might want to look into that. Don't get discouraged by your current limitations. They will get better over time as the weight comes…
  • Try a local YMCA. Many are well equipped. There are often programs for older people, and people that aren't exactly fitness buffs. I see morbidly obese people all the time there and don't give a second thought to it.
  • I focus on non grain carbs post exercise. Sweet potatoes are good. I also take in a little extra protein post weightlifting. I try to hit daily goals with protein whether I'm working out or not. As mentioned, milk and chocolate milk is a much better post exercise drink choice than electrolyte mixes or energy drinks.
  • I just started test therapy a month ago. I inject myself weekly and take a pill twice a week to prevent excess T from converting to estrogen. It definitely boosted my energy levels. If you have symptoms that need addressing and can't be fixed by lifestyle, you'll be glad you started it. But If you feel great, have good…
  • thanks for posting- I'll have to try this!
  • Guys, for more beginner info google starting strength or stronglifts 5x5. Lots of free information out there associated with those two programs. But yes, you don't have to spend hours in the gym every day. Just a few basic exercises will hit most of the muscle groups in the body in an efficient manner.
  • Try toasting it in the oven prior to cooking to see if that improves the flavor. You can also make a mixture of vanilla and cinnamon to add to it. Also, at walmart in the coffee section they sell some flavored sugar-free cofee syrups that might be worth a try. A second option is the flavored instant oatmeals. yeah, it's…
  • Welcome aboard! My fitness pal really works. My advice is don't try anything too drastic, juts a couple of pounds per week should be your goal. Find something you can live with for a long time, stick with it, and be patient I bet you'll be close to your goal by mid-Summer.
  • I think you should go out with her for a one nighter, then act like you're avoiding her. When she asks why tell her she's a little thick for your tastes. Even if she isn't large, it will mess with her head. Seriously, there are tons of reasons why things might not have clicked. So, I wouldn't assume anything about…
