Hi! If you haven't added these yet, chickpeas would be awesome to add (Plus they have heaps of fibre), dahl/lentils could also be a really good option. Mung Beans (or any kind of bean) are also a really high in protein as well (wikipedia says that 100g of mung beans have 24g of protein). And nuts too :) In terms of…

woooo finally found my niche!!! 5'1.5 My normal eating pattern's around 1300-1400 (IF) and do a decent amount of exercise. Trying to work on body comp for the summer (Im a southern hemisphere dweller) so not overly concerned by weight persay. Plan atm is to up the exercise and back eat if I'm hungry :)

Hey Team! I'm 21 and started IF a couple of weeks ago. I thought I'd start of easy and am doing the 16:8 split. So far loving the fact that my boredom snack fests have reduced to nothing and the clarity and increased focus I have in the mornings - AH-MAHZ-ING :D However, because of variations in my class schedule, I've…

I reckon at the heart of this discussion it depends on how you define 'addiction'. If like me, you consider it to have a spectrum then yes, I believe sugar does have addictive qualities, though granted not as severe as drug/alcohol addiction. If you are a person who regularly consumes a large amount of sugar (any kind) and…

Hey! I'm Gabrielle, 5'21/2 (yes the 1/2 inch is important) about 115 pounds (don;t really weigh myself too often cause my scales been off with a mind of its own). Don't really have a goal weight but am definitely focusing on getting stronger and beating my PB 5K time :)

Hey! Welcome - feel free to add :)

yeah I've done 16:8 and its worked pretty well for me - you do adapt and your appetite cues do change over time. I found the timing worked really well for me initially purely cause I was more of a late breakfast person (ie around 9:30-10am) and prefer going for runs on an empty stomach. As off late, I;ve moved away from IF…

Hiya, I agree with everyone else, rest and ice is probably the best thing to. I used to run track at highschool, and shin splints are the worst when you're 800m into a 1500m run and especially common when sprinting 100m I do agree with elothen, in terms of running technique, it would be more beneficial to add running to…

Convenient if you work 80+ hours a week to get all your veg in

My first was last year (I'm 18 btw) It was Adam Lambert and Queen which was nothing less than awesome! Queen may have been old, and Adam Lambert may be less "out there" than Freddy Mercury, but definitely a once in a life time show :)

From your diary, I think you're a little hard on yourself. Apart from the occassional binge, your diary is pretty good except for the fact that you're not eating that much (~900) I've done the yo-yoing of eating 900 somedays and 2000 the next, and honestly the best way to fix that is to find a mid ground. I'm 5'2 which is…

I agree ^ I don't specifically have a cheat day or meal. I tend to have a treat once a day that isn't too over top like maybe before going to bed I'll have a chocolate chip cookie with milk of something. I've found that it works better than say one meal one day a week, as when I did that, I found that there would be weeks…

From what you've described it sounds like you might have shin splints. I've linked you to a couple of sites that will explain what it is in more detail and how to prevent it etc. http://www.runnersworld.com/tag/shin-splints http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/shin-splints…

To be honest, as a high school graduate, I totally get where this question is coming from. After being asked what my "plans" for the future are I've decided that our purpose in life is something that has to be realized by experiencing and taking every opportunity that comes you're way - its guaranteed that there will be a…

I agree. Its perfectly normal for weight to fluctuate during the day due to water, food you've eaten etc. Its recommended that to get pretty accurate results on the MFP weighin page to pick one or more days a week, and weigh yourself in the morning before you've eaten or had anything to drink.

I agree with LoneWolfRunner - thats only 2 cups of water - not even half a litre. You are going to be fine - its only if you drink 6 litres of water or over 200 oz of water in a short period of time that you will be water intoxicated. Take a deep breathe and relax. You are not in any danger. PS - I have experience in First…

I tend to go for a boiled egg, with an apple if I'm still a little peckish, or low fat chocolate milk with an apple :)

A Red Velvet Cupcake with what was described as 'dreamy' cream cheese frosting by my collegues :)

Its an interesting bandwagon, but I know from my friends experience as a dancer who wears corsets every other day, even with a corset, you only lose weight or keep the shape if you do exercise and eat well. Well, that's her reason to eat whatever she wants anyway :)

This sounds Great :) Will definitely try

I personally haven't. but my mom did it at the end of last year and lost 100 pounds, and she hasn't gained the weight back. I'm guessing you have around 8 weeks of the first phase to go almost maybe (i can't quite remember the phase lengths)? From memory, my mom found the first week difficult but really got into it after…
