Pack your own food, both for driving and at the house. Pre-weigh or bring your scale. I keep a cooler of yogurt, cheese sticks, veggies, and low-cal wrap sandwiches with me for the drive. Tic-tacs and sugar free gum or hard candy also help, as does herbal tea and decaf coffee. As far as exercise, when possible I hit the…

Congrats! I'm 5'2.5", 46yo, post-menopausal. Maintaining 120ish at 1300 or so sedentary, but usually aim for 20k walking steps a day, plus I do some strength work (not wearing the Fitbit then, tho.) Can eat 1800 cals or so for a 20K step day, unless I have been hiking hills. I can get an extra 300-500 cals depending upon…

@pkweier Good for you for getting out! No hiking for me this weekend. Just Xmas shopping and chores.

@sofchak I know what you mean. Weekends and evenings are the hardest time for me because I am home.

@kalchthaleri It will be ok! You will even things out over time. Just be gentle with yourself. *hugs*

I am so very sorry for your loss! *huge hug* Stress is a frequent trigger for memory issues. This should pass eventually. I also tend to do my grieving through food. If you have access to a counselor and a grief support program, you might want to give them a try to see if they help.

@kristen8000 Happy birthday! If you gain a little, it's ok. You know how to take it off again.

@HarperAnn6 I hate making those dietary changes! I think you are doing a great job of it, though!

I am petite. Lost almost 150lbs by prelogging meals, weighing my food, eating smaller amounts and substituting new lower cal foods for old choices, walking 20K steps a day, hiking on weekends, body weight and mini dumbbell/ankle weight exercises at 4am weekdays. But that's not the only way to do it. The big thing is to eat…

I have thought about going Fitbit free, but don't feel quite ready yet. I do so much better with externally structured activities like classes, but I don't drive so it's hard to work into my life. Will have to give it some thought and to what I would like to do. I wish I was younger and had less damage to my body. I would…

I have it and plan on hiking mini uphill hikes with it, but it's a bit bulky to wear in the house. I suspect I would knock everything over. LOL
