Trigger warning: ED vent
My rules are making me crazy. I have to weigh less than 120lbs. I have to get 25K+ steps a day. I have to eat 100g of protein per day. I have to be up at 3:30am to squeeze in my strength workouts. I have to be able to eat as much as larger people (because enough isn't really enough, and it's just not fair they get to eat…

Need a safe upper body workout for
pelvic floor protection. (I started doing various crunches, plank series, and dumbbell lifts last winter, and have since found that my pelvic floor now feels like it's falling out.) Can't afford doc or physical therapy right now, and don't want to lose the strength I've gained. Any suggestions on safe programs for older…

Any good videos for strength and flexibility training with hyper-mobile joints?
Apparently I have been doing things wrong, and my poor arthritic joints are wobblier than ever. :( I'd love remedial/beginner online vids I can work out with that would pass inspection of a personal trainer or physical therapist. I have numerous imbalances beyond the hyper-mobility including all the modern issues like…

Gaining muscle: weekly vs daily surplus?
So after losing 150lbs, I landed myself in Skinnyfat Town and need to add some muscle back. For weight loss, banking and tracking weekly cals was fine, but does it work when building muscle? I like to bank cals during the week so I can eat out with hubby on weekends, but do I need to switch to a daily surplus for muscle…

Hiking in Cape Breton, Canada?
Planning on returning to the site of our honeymoon next summer to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Can anyone recommend some beautiful trails and campgrounds in the area? I can hike up to 12mi in a day, though I still get pretty tired from multiple ascents.

Women's adjustable weight vest?
Any recommendations for an adjustable weight vest suitable for a short/petite woman? Would like to wear it on walks, but also while doing step ups, lunges, plies, and squats. Must go up to at least 35lbs, since that is about the minimum of what I expect to backpack with next summer. Thanks!

Glycogen replenishment vs true weight gain?
How long should my trend line keep going up when glycogen is restored? I've been assuming that it happens over a few days, and that an upward moving line 2-3 weeks out from upping cals is true weight gain?

Charge HR overestimates my burns. Will changing
my heart rate settings help with the too high calorie burn? I have already compensated somewhat by making myself shorter on my profile, but that doesn't affect the band sometimes more than doubling my heart rate count. I do override the exercise blocks on days when the burn is too high, but was just wondering if changing…

2 years, 130lbs, and a very long post with a pile of pics at the end. :^)

Need Jean shopping help!
Looking for petite jeans to fit my new shape? As a young woman, I was a classic hourglass with a 12 inch difference between waist and hips, but after gaining and losing 140lbs and going through menopause, my waist is only 6 inches smaller than my hips now. (Still have a fatty apron, and my bum fell down!) Any suggestions…

Bunion/arthritis - friendly workout/hiking footwear?
Looking for a roomy, rounded toe box with narrow heels and/or heel locks, and neutral soles in sneakers, trail runners, and lightweight mid-height hiking boots. Any suggestions?

New England/Maritimes hikers and backpackers, check in!
Any other hiking Maineiacs out there? I'm in Castine, so am a regular at Acadia, especially on hubby's cairn maintenance days. We do hike elsewhere around the state and Northern New England as well. Also looking to add the Canadian Maritimes next year with a return trip to Cape Breton, where we honeymooned years ago.…

Please check my math on my "zero" cal sweetener?
It's a stevia, erythritol, dextrose /maltodextrin blend. One serving is 3.5g, of which the carb count claims 2g is erythritol. If the erythritol is .25cals/g and the dextrose is 4cals/g that means 2g is worth .5 cals and the other 1.5g is worth 6? So for 1g the calorie value is 1.7cals??

Low calorie sweetener suggestions?
I love to add PB2 and/or Cocoa Powder to yogurt and sweeten it with a stevia/erythritol/dextrose/maltodextrin granular blend. My problem is two-fold. First, I have no idea what the true caloric value is of this stuff, but I use as much as 20 grams of it per yogurt serving, so there is no way it's zero as the label claims.…

Who knew I would ever be able to wear this Halloween costume?! LOL
The kids at school thought it was a riot! :D

Photos from my first backpacking trip.
It was just a little 2 day deal over a 10mi loop, but still hard enough for my osteoarthritis and fitness level. Cutler was absolutely gorgeous, and I recommend visiting if you can.

Most people select a goal weight, and that determines their calories. Has anyone tried it the other
way around? Select a calorie zone and let your weight fall where it may, just to see what happens? (I'm trying that for now. I want to see what happens if I eat 1400-1600 on most days, along with the occasional treat meal, and see what I end up weighing. I'm 5'2.5" and middle-aged, though, so I may find this range to be…

More powdered nuts like Pb2?
I love the stuff as a yogurt stir-in, because it's lower cal than nut butter.

Is there a free graphing program like trendweight
that will graph both weight trends and net calories? Just curious to see the overlay of data. Right now the best I can do is screencap trendweight.com and MFP for 3 months and look at them one lined up over the other. :)

How to account for a weight vest during workouts?
I am looking at a 20lb vest to challenge myself with in my hiking training (step work, squats, lunges, treadmill, and elliptical.) How do I account for this with Fitbit? Don't want to accidentally gain weight from giving the vest too much credit! LOL

Charge Hr suddenly giving me tons of flights of stairs??
I walked on flat ground most of yesterday, but acquired my lighthouse badge for passing 50 flights! And it appears I am on track to do it again today.

Accounting for calorie burn from standing?
I stand quite a bit teaching and coaching, and on my days off I have made it a habit to do my Web surfing or pleasure reading while standing at the kitchen counter. Since I am supposedly in maintenance yet just saw a large weight drop on TrendWeight, should I start tracking how long I stand at the counter? Does Fitbit…

This 30 days' worth of Data tells me what, now?
OK, I collected it as suggested, but have no idea how to use it to help me. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me! I'm a 5'2.5" 44yo woman. Still not sure on goal weight. Maybe 135? (After 18 months of dieting down from 262lbs, I am still trying to wrap my head around the idea of picking a weight/range.)…

Figuring FitBit accuracy with the following data?
I posted a similar question to the Maintenance forum, but would like a Fitbit specific answer as well if possible. I'm still trying to trust my new higher goal numbers, and knowing my Fitbit's accuracy would help with the anxiety. Thanks for your help! :) I'm a 5'2.5" 44yo woman. Still not sure on goal weight. Maybe 135?…

Does the Common board recommendation of eating 50% of exercise cals apply to
a) FitBit users in general, and b) people in maintenance? (I am still trying to sort out my own numbers for going into maintenance. I will have to be a Neat person, as my steps and exercise vary from day to day. I do like to bank extra cals for the weekend, so have to work the numbers out for that as well.)

If you upgraded your Fitbit for new features, what did you do with your old one?
I am still toying with setting up a second account to get a comparison, but I am wondering if one of my kids will want my Flex if I decide the ChargeHR is going to work out.

Finally upgrading from a Flex to a Charge HR
It will arrive next week sometime. Very excited, although I am a bit trepidatious about encountering some of the problems I've heard about them, such as a too high calorie burn. I am wondering if I should run two accounts and devices for a while, to compare the numbers.
