  • Oatmeal with melted peanut butter so yum. I'm always excited when I have enough calories to put an extra scoop on there!
  • I'm not sure that the info will be new or fresh because weight loss really stays the same. But... free digital bluetooth scale and a place to talk with people about my journey and be accountable. Sometimes I just like to chat about what I am doing or what I am excited about, but for my friends that don't struggle with…
  • I actually lost my job a month before quarantine and then got a new one a couple weeks after everything started shutting down. In February, I was losing-- in part because my food budget was so low. Then when I got my job, I gained 15lbs in 2 months-- just eating pure junk out of relief. I felt like I could eat/spend money…
  • If this were true, I could eat 2750 calories every day and lose weight..... that is what I eat to maintain or even gain.
  • I don't know if "Athlete" is defined by a mindset... or if it is defined by ability. Whatever you call it, I am definitely a goal-getter lol. I compete with myself constantly. The only reason I run is because I want to beat my time from last time or at least match it. I think my problem is that I LOVEEEEE to set goals and…
  • I'd stick with what is working. It is possible that at 1500-1600 you actually were eating more like 2000 if you weren't weighing and counting every little bite. When I have tried to have my calories at 2000 (which should still be a 900 calorie deficit for me) then I don't lose weight. Which means I'm not actually in a…
  • Sometimes, you have to out-crazy crazy people. Karen comes along and overreacts to something dumb giving you attitude?? Overreact to her over reaction. Stomp your foot. Tear your shirt and pour a drink on yourself. Talk to her with your eyes bugged out. 10/10 times she will back away as though she was a normal person. She…
  • Came in here to post this exact recipe and this exact website! I do this chicken all the time and put it on everything. Also, Budget Bytes has awesome cheap recipes. I would also say look at your local grocery stores and see what the sales are, then build recipes out of those items by typing them into the search bar.
  • I think that the cause for speculation isn't that people have died because of it-- death is death. But that the numbers of recoveries vs. death aren't quite dependable yet because of the lack of testing available in the beginning. So in the beginning, people (Side A) were arguing against the high death rate numbers saying…
  • Right, and this is why I wear my mask. I just haven't found a reason against it other than the government telling me what to do-- which they already do lol. So while I'm not 100 percent sold that COVID isn't overhyped, it doesn't really hurt me to fall in line. And if I'm wrong, it could be hurtful to others.
  • @janejellyroll generally, I agree and practice that which my state implements. I do not believe that they are maliciously deceiving as much as I don't know which information they are drawing from. I confess that I am putting faith in them. As far as local politics, I can honestly say ... no I don't trust local health…
  • I think it is a "thing", I'm just not sure about the hype around it and whose numbers to trust. Ultimately, everyone is just choosing what they consider to be facts--but when there are "facts" on both sides, it becomes faith. Faith that your information is more accurate than the guy next to you's. For me, it's just more of…
  • I'm not a scientist-- I don't know whose information I'm supposed to trust. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but historically, in every country, drama like this goes down during every election year. Which does make me reluctant to trust any news or educated professional. I wear a mask because I am not opinionated enough…
  • It really seems like no matter what you do, there needs to be an exit strategy at maintenance AND be prepared to implement before maintenance. Every method of weight loss is "unsustainable" in my opinion, because no one loses weight forever. Even if you are eating at a tiny deficit and only losing 0.25 lbs a week,…
  • I have watched a ridiculous amount of Survivor. I was never a fan. Now, with Covid, I can say that I have watched like 28 Seasons, googled all the winners, and now work out thinking "A few more workouts and I'll win all the Survivor challenges. And one million dollars."
  • Thanks OP for posting this-- I have been thinking along the same lines lately. I've really enjoyed reading through the advice in this thread. I have been trying to ditch that "all or nothing" mindset and allow treats in the house on a regular basis. My problem is that I have not been successful yet at moderating them. I…
  • Thanks!!!!! We will look at these!
  • Responding to your "tree advice". You can see above for your "forest" advise. I should correct my original post and say that he didn't put on a little weight in his stomach recently-- The past 2 years that I have known him he has had it and been trying to get rid of it. He looks the exact same and has not been "losing…
  • I think you may be projecting. My BF does take responsibility for his own health. I am in no way burdened because he has a little pudge. I don't stay awake feeling like I need to cook healthier so that he can be healthy. We are in a healthy relationship where we share and listen to insights the other person might have. I…
  • I eat 1400-1600 a day during the week and 2500 on Saturday and Sunday. During the week, I try to have my meals equal about 400 each and my snacks about 200. I do try to push breakfast and lunch off til later in the day so I don't feel famished for dinner. Sometimes I skip breakfast and eat allll the dinner.
  • Hope you feel better..and get all your muscle back! My petty reason: I used to look at Facebook to decompress in the afternoons. Now with all the debates and drama, I need a way to decompress after looking at Facebook.
  • So.. Just my opinion here:I think that if this works for you, then do it. I've thought about it only because I love packaged junk foods and it seems like these might have more protein than the 100 calorie snacks in the stores. But I'm cheap and don't want to be told what to do by a coach. Weight loss is not sustainable--…
  • Something to keep in mind is that WW points are lowered so that people can have the "free" points. If you are going to have some freebies that you don't want to log, you may need to lower your calorie amounts. I don't log: gum, hot sauce, spices. I eyeball ketchup. That's about it for me.
  • I've "restarted" before and my biggest piece of advice is to celebrate every pound you lose. It is motivating to see the number go down and be excited about it. When you've gained some of what you have lost, you have markers in your head that you are always comparing to that makes it difficult to celebrate. The thought is…
