I know exactly what you mean - I've noticed how much harder it is to get going again after the one minute walks - I actually found Sundays long run a lot easier to handle. Plus, I think I had a change in attitude too - rather than thinking 'only 5 more minutes to go until my walk' I was thinking 'I can have a walk when I…

I'm now on Week 4 of B210K and still loving it. Went off plan slightly at the weekend, as my usual running partner is away on holiday, so we'll be back on schedule when she returns. On Saturday, I decided to carry on with Week 4/Day 1 (18min run/1min walk x 3), but had to give up after the second running interval due to…

I invested in a Heart Rate Monitor then added 'C25K' myself to the exercise diary, logging the calories as per my HRM. I can thoroughly recommend getting one. I have the Polar FT7 - very happy with it, especially as I can wear it whilst swimming too. I also carry my android phone with me whilst running and have both the…

C25K - Love it!!!!! Best thing I've done in a long time!!! I completed this at the end of July and now currently half way through the Bridge to 10K program. When I started C25K, I hadn't run since my school days (approx 25yrs!), so really struggled with the first week, just trying to run for one minute! But the program…

I'm still breastfeeding my 17mth son - but only just the one morning feed every day. I noticed that my milk supply was beginning to dwindle on days when I was only taking in my 1240 calorie goal. So I now make sure I account for breastfeeding by logging it on my food diary every day. Search for 'breastfeeding' in the food…

Jen, I'm using Audible.co.uk, which is part of Amazon. They were offering a one month free trial, so I thought I'd take advantage of that to see if audio books would work for me. There's a US version too: http://www.amazon.com/gp/audible/signup/display.html/ref=sa_menu_aud_mem6

I'm also a C25K graduate and now on week 2 of B210K. Week one was really tough but so far I'm finding week 2 a lot easier. I listened to an audio book during last nights run, and boy did that work! I was so focused on the book i barely noticed i was running!

Glad to see there's a few of us doing this. We did W2/D1 last night and I think I've found my new secret weapon! Audio Books! I normally listen to music when I'm running but decided to investigate audio books instead, seeing as our workouts are now approaching an hour with warm up and cool down walks. Well, I downloaded a…

Hiya - you can add 'breastfeeding' in the same way as you do food (search the database and there are various different options for breastfeeding). It adds the calorie allowance as a negative number on your food diary, thus giving you extra calories for food.

I'm actually doing this with my Sister-in-Law, and we both found W1/D1 so hard that we gave up after the third running interval. I almost did the same at our second attempt, but pushed on through the discomfort and managed to complete it. Thankfully, days 2 and 3 got a little bit easier each time. I'm hoping that week two…

That's excellent - best of luck!

Another vote for Couch to 5K!! I've just graduated this and into week one of 'Bridge to 10k', which is the follow on. I literally hadn't done any running since my school days (25 years ago!) before I embarked on C25K!
-
Another huge fan of c25k here too! My sister in law and i have just graduated this at weekend, actually managing to run the full 5km on our last run in just under 39mins. We're not fast, but still overjoyed at our achievement! We're starting on bridge to 10k tonight as we're both addicted now!!

I've just graduated c25k and can honestly say that its one of the best things i've ever done. I dont normally stick with things, but i completed the full nine weeks and finished with a full 5km run at the weekend, i'm now addicted and embarking on bridge to 10k. Good luck guys. Its not easy, but worth every ounce of sweat!!

Well, if you're on your bike anyway, i'd personally take a long route home and add in another 20 mins or so of cycling. As for c25k, we're lucky enough to live in beautiful part of the country with the new forest on our doorstep, so i do all my runs in the forest - but without such a scenic route on my doorstep i'd…

I agree with everyone else, you'll probably get better results by adding a little more exercise into the mix. There are a few really cheap dvd's available on amazon, which aren't bad. Try searching for Jessie Wallace and Hannah Watermans offerings, both under a fiver! Also, walking is a great way to keep fit, especially if…

Hi there, I just completed Week 9/Day 1 yesterday, and like you, can't get the grin off my face!! I'm so proud of myself for sticking with it! I'm still quite slow, and estimate that it'll probably take me about 38 minutes to do the full 5km, so I'm planning to concentrate on getting the distance for a couple weeks after…

You search for the exercise, and when it doesn't come up, you're given the option to add your own exercise. You'll need to know the calories burned though - I assume you're using a heart rate monitor? Oh, just seen that you've already created a new exercise - you should find it in the database now and be able to add it to…

Good Luck to all of you doing this! I'm in the middle of C25K myself and yesterday completed Week 5 Day 3, which was a 5 minute walk followed by TWENTY minute run!!! I can't believe I actually did it - it feels fab!! Like many of you, five weeks ago, I was hyperventilating trying to complete the 60 second run! However,…

I would also highly recommend investing in a Heart Rate Monitor. But in the meantime, if you have an Android phone with GPS, RunKeeper is quite good and I have found it's calorie estimate pretty much matches my HRM figures.

Hi Claire - I'm in the new Forest, and also addicted to this site!! I've been using it for 8weeks and have so far lost nearly a stone. I love the 'eating back your exercise calories' aspect of it - and that in itself has really given me the motivation to exercise. My head just says "if you want that little treat, you have…
-
Just to add - I'm a complete novice at this running thing, and have just completed week four of the C25K program. At the moment, my 'bonking point' is about 3.5 minutes into the run!!! Like I said - complete newbie!!!
-
LOL - another UK reader here! This post did make me laugh! Definitely no energy for any bonking during my runs ;o)

I have the Potal FT7, and that DOES show the calories burned during the exercise. I use mine for swimming every week - and it registers about 6-7 cals per minute of breaststroke. I love my FT7, would recommend it to anyone!
