That's actually really interesting. The only flaws I see are: 1) not all allergies trigger a histamine reponse. I'm extremely allergic to cigarette smoke and when I saw an allergy specialist they put me on Singulair (an asthma medication) because it is a leukatrine inhibitor and tobacco smoke triggers a leukatrine response…

I'm confused - to which part of comments are you referring? I wasn't stating scientific fact or causation anywhere in this post - just opinions of people in those three communities.

You and I are definitely on the same page, Christibear... :)

QUOTE: Do you know what else contains chloride (an ion of chlorine)? Common table salt. Common table salt (Sodium Chloride) is made from chloride (an ion of Chlorine, which in gaseous form is extremely toxic and was one of the first poison gasses used in World War 1) and Sodium (a metal that reacts vigorously in water;…

From a weight-loss perspective, switching to diet soda is good if you're used to drinking a lot of the regular stuff... But from a health perspective, you should wean yourself off of the stuff altogether. The sodas made with Splenda are a crock... "Splenda tastes like sugar because it's made from sugar"... sure, but what…

I don't really understand how some people can't reach the 1200 calorie mark unless they have some serious issues. And I don't mean that in a "you're a nut job" kind of way... My favourite reason: being able to have girlie-time whenever I want! If I had a boyfriend (especially a live-in boyfriend) I wouldn't have the freedom to have my girls over anytime I wanted for boy-bashing, make-overs, chick flicks, etc. And don't forget being able to slum-it-up in sweats and no make-up!

I chose to workout at the YMCA near my house because it's $42 all-inclusive (pool, classes, lockers, open gym, etc.) AND I don't have a contract so I can quit at any time with no financial fallout. The no-contract thing was a major deal-changer for me.

I use my iPhone at the gym for easy tracking, but you're right - it is a bit of a pain to log each individual movement. What I end up doing is either writing down my workout in a notebook or using a note-taking app like Paperless (which has a "copy list" function so I don't have to rewrite the whole thing each time I…

One good idea is to take the foods and meals you already love and tweak them a little. Use low-fat or non-fat dairy products instead of full-fat, buy reduced-calorie ice creams, etc. that way you don't feel deprived of the things you love. Another idea is to adopt vegetarian eating habits a few times a week.... just cut…
