I'd stay on the east coast and take the train from Boston to NYC to DC and then back home.

Found it! You have to look up at the top of the page for the invitation.

Josie, it's not there under my Groups.

I can't find the group either. Just want to say that I do not expect Josie or any other member to feel obligated to reply to every single post. That's a burden no one should bear. Once the group has been created (thanks, Josie) and we're up and running, we're all in this equally. If something resonates, or you think you…

Y'all are certainly helping me. Knowing others are staying on track and getting back on the wagon when they fall off is good reinforcement. Today I did a 30 minute exercise video and walked the dogs (in the rain, so that should count double!) and I'm contemplating doing the video again tonight. One of the times I was…

I would rather starve than eat couscous! :-) So far so good today, have to go home and cook now that I'm not eating processed stuff. That's always a challenge. This weekend will be a marathon cooking and freezing session. Hoping to get the dogs out for separate walks this evening since the weather is nice. Gotta get this…

Just came back to MFP today, saw this thread, and read the whole thing. I'd like to join so maybe y'all can keep me from falling off the wagon, again. I'm 57 and 75 lb would get me to a perfect weight, though I'm not sure I could maintain that weight for the long haul. I'd be satisfied with losing 65. I've been yoyoing my…

I've been having a pity party for two weeks, and y'all are making me feel better. So thanks. I'd finally gotten into a good exercise routine (gym, running, swimming, weights) and had lost 35 pounds when my shoulder started hurting and my left arm started going numb. Turns out I've got some bad discs in my neck--multilevel…

Delicious tofu scramble (made it this morning): 1 cup bell pepper, chopped (I used orange, yellow, and green because I had them) 1 cup onion, chopped 4 oz fresh mushrooms, chopped (more if you have them) 1/2 Tbsp olive oil 1 container firm or extra firm tofu, not silken 1/8 tsp turmeric 1-2 tsp savory (herb) Salt and…

I guess I'm the exception here, because they don't bug me. I've been scuba diving for 30 years, and lots of guys wear speedos while diving so they don't have a swimsuit bunching up under their wetsuit. Few of them have the bodies of those three guys pictured above, unfortunately.

Slow Fat Triathlete is a great book even if you're not slow or fat. It's very motivational and will tell you what to expect on race day.

I joined our fitness center in December. They just raised the price before I joined, and it's $13 every two weeks, I think. Basic equipment--3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, rower, stationary bikes, 5 or 6 cybex machines, and free weights. They've got classes (spinning, zumba, kickboxing, etc) also, but the workout room is…

What she said. This thread is making me kind of sad..all you young people worrying so much. From the vantage point of my 55 years, I'd say just figure out, eventually, what makes you happy, whether it's a job, family, hobbies, pets. It won't all be perfect, but it will, eventually, be pretty darned satisfying.

This would only work for a few weeks till you run out of fingers, no? Sorry, I had to. :-D

I don't know who I am if I'm not fat. Every time I get close to goal I gain it back.

Me too.

Apple Cauliflower Gardein chik'n scallopini (vegan so I can live without out all real meat)

I've lost over 10 pounds since Thanksgiving, and I'm guessing I'll lose 2 or 3 when I weigh in Saturday, despite traveling and staying/eating at my sister's house for Christmas. The holidays are easier for me since I'm a vegan, since if I don't make the goodies, I don't eat them. So I didn't make them this year, and…

I just signed up for one today. It's on Sunday, May 6th. I've done several half marathons in the past. But I also never run consistently unless I have a goal in front of me (and even then, sometimes I'm lazy.)

I use unsweetened almond milk, 40 calories a cup. And truvia, which I don't find to have a nasty taste like regular stevia does.

I buy it thinking it's good for me and I should like it, let it get all slimy in the vegetable bin, and then I feed it to my worms with all the other rotten vegetables. ;-)

After gaining and losing the same 50-80 pounds several times over the past 40 years (most years spent on the high side) I found out shortly after I turned 55 that, despite being a vegan for over 20 years, I had high cholesterol and was pre-diabetic. I failed a stress test, which scared the bejesus out of me since my dad…

I've had good luck with Asics, either Cumulus or Landreth (my new favorite) but I put green Superfeet insoles in them. I've got wide feet with very high arches.
