Bumping the thread, so it stays active on the message boards

Oh I didn't mean to say you should change it, I was just curious. I know for me I have mini goals along the way and I have never been under 230 as an adult so no idea when im going to feel healthy. The recommendation for my height seems so low. I just want to be able to do what I want and my body not let me down! :-)

I heard from doctor as well about the half ounce per body weight. I don't quite get that much but I do make sure to drink one gallon. Use 4 32oz bottles and if get thru them by dinnertime I will go for the 5th. The first week it is hard as you aren't used to it. And whoa lots of peeing. Then your body adjusts. I don't wake…

I was JUST wondering that as the date was from 2013-if op had taken it off in the years time.

Too much restriction will make you feel defeated, and yes, angry. Losing weight and getting healthier shouldn't be viewed as some sort of punishment or something to suffer thru you know? If you are often hungry you should switch up your approach.

I have that much to lose, feel free to add me. My profile is open. I see your ticker is set at 61, is that your halfway point to your goal?

My oldest just turned 4, I have an almost 17 month old, and due next month with #3. I'm a SAHM. I also felt/feel guilty doing things for myself even though its for my health and well being. Hello to all you other mommies :)

I quit going to the gym and was just using my treadmill at home, but I never did like the elliptical-it felt awkward and unnatural to me. I see lots of people using them though and in theory it looks easier on the joints than the treadmill. You are just slightly behind me, congrats! I'm holding steady at maintaining so far…

I try to eat healthy vs sweets/cravings about 80/20. But no way I can have NO pasta at least couple times a week. I did it for a few weeks a couple months ago or something, no pasta or bread, but not now. I still measure and log everything but lately making homemade baked mac n chz mixed with sloppy joe (made from lean…

I was 384 when I started-and kudos to you on your progress so far! Add me, I'm here daily and could use some more friends who are over 300 as well!

As others have said having smaller goals along the way are very helpful with feeling successful and seeing results and not getting overwhelmed. I also think having fitness goals can be helpful, not just the number on the scale. Like for me I started out saying ok I want to be able to walk to the plaza and back. It's right…

Yes as others said that is normal at first. Heck I have lost that much in two DAYS before seriously, when getting back on track with calorie counting.
-
*high fives* awesome dedication!! and you're right, it's **100%** mental!
-
I wrote out my meals and snacks (on paper though) ahead of time because I think doing it ahead of time helps a lot so you aren't looking for food while hungry and can look over the whole day and make sure you have the right amount of what you need ie protein, carbs, dairy, etc When I had tried just making a goal and…

The portion sizes/calories for pasta. I was WAY off. Now when I'm cooking and actually measure the pasta I think of how big the bowls where before, and I'd usually have seconds. Tracking definitely shows you about portion control and being honest with yourself.

Haven't done hot tub or even hot bath for months, as I read its not good for baby as can overheat. Once I'm recovered from c section I look forward to baths as well as time in the hot tub relaxing for sure!

Great progress!

Congrats to you both :) I preplan my menu overall with some allowances depending what I'm doing that day & week. I was walking 2 miles per day but since I've "dropped" recently the sciatica is just too painful and no need to push myself too much now. The tens unit helps enough to get around when it's hurting from chasing…

I did this in the past and totally forgot this time around. Thanks for reminding me and YES why not pay ourselves! I used for few small things along the way but majority went for a trip. OK off to find my jar again and make a plan :)

anyone here feel free to add me as well-and to OP-I'm about the same, 5'8" and highest 384, around 330 now and end goal is (I think!) 170

When I was losing before and under 280 I did a few sprints/jogging on treadmill but not running. I do look forward to the day I can truly run, and not be hurting and winded within an extremely short time. I also find those shows amazing though yes, where these 400 lb people are a few days in and already running. And no one…

Great job keeping it off-it's not that hard to lose but its hard to keep from gaining back!
-
I just buy the 100 calorie bags
-
i use FF except for yogurt, and sometimes water FF milk down to half if having cereal
-
I also keep track of protein fat and carbs, that is what I meant about pre planning my menu/meal plan. My weight ticket should be showing(?) and yes am down 57 lbs, weigh daily and have an 'official' weigh in day one per week as well. If you meant recently, yes I have lost just around 30 lbs since June.
-
I weigh daily as well and keep track in a notebook. I don't think its obsessive at all, and just part of daily routine.
-
I don't a food diary here/online, much easier for me to keep track with pen and paper as I pre plan my menu to make sure eating the right amounts of things and check them off. Overall for weight loss I think calories matter more than what type of food. That being said however I try to eat very healthy ( especially now as…

Interesting thread I'm 5'8 and seeing the variation in clothing size for the same height I assume it has to do with muscle mass(?) as I see one saying 154 and a size 4 and another at 14 pounds less is a 8/10. My goal weight is 170 but I wont know for sure until I am under 200. Long way away

In total I need to lose 214 lbs. Feel free to add me, I need some supportive and active friends as well :) Just rejoined this site end of July. I don't log online here because I keep track with pen and paper, its just easier for me, but I am here at least a couple times a day to check in and/or read posts as keeps me in…
