  • I've been on it for 3 weeks and am seeing some quite remarkable results. I've lost about 3 kg, my energy levels are way up, and i'm feeling great. :-)
  • It's on YouTube if you can't find it... there goes THAT excuse! hee hee hee ;-)
  • I'm wondering the same thing - I've logged it as "circuit training, general", but I was a bit disappointed by the no. of calories it gave me for it... >.<
  • I'm in. I just did the level 1 workout for the first time... :-) A question though: I can't bounce or hop (chronic achilles tendonitis), so I can't do the jumping jacks or the butt kicks the way she shows them. Does anyone know how to replace them most effectively without any bouncing? Also, how do you log this workout -…
  • I can sympathize with your wife - I tend to express my love with food, too. I feed people, it's what I do.
  • Does crawling up in a ball burn any calories? We could turn it into a sport. :-) I don't have porphyria, arthritis, or a bad back, but I do have chronic achilles tendonitis, which means no bouncing or jumping (aerobics, calisthenics, and jogging are out), so that limits my exercise options considerably. I had severe asthma…
  • refined - I have a sweet tooth, I'm afraid.
  • I drink 2-3 liters/quarts of water a day, and alcohol only once or twice a month, so I don't think that's the problem. My coffee consumption is moderate (2 cups in the morning and one in the afternoon, usually), but I do have a hard time avoiding sugar. One more reason to try harder, I guess. :-)
  • I have never experienced hyperthyroid, but aside from weight loss, I understand it's not too much fun, either.
  • Yeah, storing water is a definite issue - some days my wedding ring is almost falling off, other days I can't work it off my finger without soap... Thanks for the idea to take measurements - I've noticed changes in the fit of my clothes even when the scale stubbornly refuses to move.
  • I've taken off 11 kg (about 24lbs) since October - it's slow going, and I'm kind of stalled at the moment. I'm going with a sort of casual low-carb approach, but keeping a diary seems to be what helps the most. And of course that's the one thing I'm usually not committed enough to do.
  • Yeah, I think pre-monopause is an issue with me as well... and chronic tendonitis, meaning anything like jogging is out of the question. But this time I'm really determined, and I have a powerful ally - my daughter is just finishing up med school, and she's being really helpful and supportive.
  • [/quote] Depends on what I'm in the mood for. I eat an apple every day (my diary is open and fair game), AND I eat something "equivalent" to a McDonald's apple pie (I find them a little on the small and molten side). Yesterday I ran for 12 miles and had a Kit Kat and a chocolate Easter bunny, and my skin is **still**…
  • And you've lost so much weight. Wow. How have you done it?
  • I've always understood clean eating to mean avoiding pre-processed, packaged, additive laden foods - synonymous to the "one-ingredient" theory. It seems reasonable to me on a common-sense level that this can only be better for you. Or have I gotten something wrong here?
  • I know that feeling - I do great all day then blow it in the evening after work. For me, I find it helps to just stay out of the kitchen, as banal as that may sound. If I'm in or near the kitchen, I'll hit the peanut butter jar or the fridge, but if I stay in another room without "eating triggers", I can keep it under…
