I also tried new machines at the gym. It’s easy to get stuck in a routine that you like. I have started deadlifts, squats and a few others. I really think it has helped me turn things around.

@GrandmaJackie Yes, what a struggle. Sometimes I don’t know what is the right track. I’ve tried low carb before but always had incredible cravings and lack of energy. This time I will concentrate on low carb on non cycling days and then increase for my bike rides. I just love cycling and we go with friends, so it becomes a…

BTW, when I have my morning coffee, I now have a big glass of water with it. I am amazed at how water can fill you up and delay eating. Every little trick helps o:)

Well, I’m committed and definitely not interested. ;)

Hi Ann That is a tough one. I know last week I had to drag myself around and didn’t have energy to exercise but pushed it anyway. I finally took a day off and slept in for 3 days, like over 9 hours a time. Then on Monday I woke up feeling fantastic. It’s difficult when you are tired and want to sleep during the day but…

A little motivation for a Sunday morning: This is a journey. We will get off track sometimes; we will lose our way but as long as we stay focused on that end goal, we will overcome. We will be fitter, stronger and far more healthy than we were on 1st January. The journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step. Good luck…

I am the same. If we lose fat we want to shout from the roof tops. Gain and the silence is deafening :/

@GrandmaJackie and @jacqueline0821 let’s motivate each other and make sure we connect. I find that I go quiet when I have put on weight or eaten badly. Not the right approach. Those are the times to post. I am very happy with my progress on MFP. For years my weight just went up and up. 2017 was the first year that it went…

There are a few of us Jackie, Jacqui and Jacqueline’s in this group. I’m also a granny but a few years older, same height but my goal is like your starting weight . Lol

Hi. I'm in too. I have already lost 6.8kgs but it has taken 7 months to do it. I would like to challenge myself to lose .5kg every week. That would be 6kgs in the 12 weeks. After that, maybe another challenge to finish the job eh? I have just seen this, so I will weigh tomorrow and post. Good luck everyone.

Hi All I'm not MFP literate when to comes to finding friends in the 60's age group. We have different energy levels to the younger ones. Please feel free to friend me and let's get motivated to help each other. I have about 15kgs that I would like to lose by Xmas.

Hi, I'm, also new to the group, hearing about it on the Half Size Me podcast. I have a Fitbit Charge 2 and it has my TDEE at 2100-2300. I have tried all of the diets known to man. After listening to the Half Size Me podcast, I thought "Maybe there is a better way" That way being to not exclude food groups that end up…

Hi All I had a Fitbit flex that died after 2 1/2 years. I bought a Charge 2 so I can get the heart rate. I love it. I love the notifications and reminders. I am constantly walking up and down the stairs at work to make my 250 an hour. I am pushing 60 and on a mission for 2017 to lose 20 kgs. Anyone who would like to add me…

I think I'm at the point of settling for just not putting on any more weight. Every attempt I make I end up 3 kgs heavier after trying to lose it. One has to count other blessings in life at these times

I had good intentions tonight and went to the gym to do a Zumba class. I found myself in the front of the class only to find out it was a GRIT Strength class. Well too embarrassed to leave, I just had to grin and bear it. The rest of the class were half my age. I should've twigged when I went it and saw all of the young…

Hi Fellow Cyclists My name is Jacqui from Brisbane, Australia. I am 56 years old. I love cycling. I was a jogger for many years, but nothing beats being on a bike. I have a carbon road bike. We have great weather that enables us to cycle all year round. We just have to start extra early in summer. Don't like getting…

Hey Doowoop You have my stats and my goals. Good luck.

I have just heard about JUDDD diet from another forum. I am starting today. I think it may be easier than anything else I have tried as you only have to survive until the next morning. I have been into the Smarter Science of Slim podcasts for 18 months and have been trying to eat and exercise the way they prescribe. Whilst…

I have been a member for one whole week, using a Fitbit and this site. I have found that I have to eat my exercise calories. I don't want to but I am so hungry, I do it. I know that you often have to eat more to lose fat to avoid starvation mode. But like I said, I know it all but not ever had the success that I crave,…
