Depends on how you define accurate. DEXA holds an inherent 5-20% degree of error depending on the make/model, the skill of the operator and the calibration of the equipment. All measurement systems hold about the same, so what matters is trending over time to ensure your plan is working.

If you don't control your spending, no amount of income will be enough. What government did wrong was attempt to resolve an issue that is clearly beyond their ability to resolve.
-
If you intend to be compensated for managing 24% of your time, stating that you cannot manage 2% of your time effectively does not make a strong case.

Depends on the risk and reward. Considering the proximity of a lower taxed region it would be unwise to place a burdensome tax when a competing body will take advantage. A smart parasite doesn't kill the host.

To the contrary I aspire to get old. Gaining knowledge is one thing, but the wisdom that only comes with age & experience has always been my end goal. Certainly my experience will be different, but I always think of my Grandfather. Born in 1896 he lived well into his 90s and witnessed the explosion of invention of the 20th…

Tip the engineer. Critical flaw in design control :)

I'm confused by your original response. If you are aware of the cost paid for by the employer then why would you make your initial assessment? The government provides medical care to service members - this is part of the compensation for exchanged services. During my service I witnessed top notch care and received the…

So being aware that rejection of responsibility ended up with greater problems and your solution is to double down? At least there is some level of accountability with a corporate enterprise. There is none within government other than collapse. No one wants responsibility, but expects greatness. Greatness requires…

Your employer doesn't see it this way. Part of your compensation is provided in sponsored healthcare. Are you aware of the cost? You can choose to outsource responsibility, but this comes at a great cost.

There are 168 hours in a week. It is not your employer's responsibility to manage 2% of your time to exercise.

I see that despite objective evidence not changing throughout the past few decades has not stopped scientists, journalists, politicians, and other particular interests from making wild assumptions and predictions. Gross negligence and disinformation.

This isn't a concern with home preservation means, but critical in large scale production. I love canning and the ritual behind this. It is a wonderful exercise to create and preserve. Certainly not the only means, but certainly the cheapest. Vacuum sealing is very effective, but not cheap in large scale operations. Vacuum…

This is about risk mitigation. Salt and sugar are cheap food preservatives, so if you want prepared food to hold shelf life this is the best way to survive transportation and temperature variations. Salt is preferable to botulism. There is nothing inherently unhealthy about salt or sugar. There is little objective evidence…

Yes you are reading this right. Man is not inherently good and will rail against the successful (be it wealth, fitness, etc.) as those truly successful people are a living reminder that they are the cause of their own problems. Ignore them, this is a central point to narcissistic behavior and defies all logic. You cannot…

Dig deeper. Bad diets, addiction, drug use, etc. all symptomatic of a deeper root cause. I suspect this is lack of purpose. Even this may not be the root cause.

Bravo Zulu! Thank you for sharing this and may your story inspire others!

You're about 60% water. As others have stated this isn't a metric you should concern yourself over as it is largely irrelevant. The general concern is either fat loss, muscle gain, or combination of both. Drink enough water so your urine is a light straw color.

If and only if we relied on actual objective evidence, then there would be much fewer panics. "Ground breaking" to the scientific community now means a conventional shift greater than 5%. There's always that one rogue "scientist" who pushes the boundaries of evidence and inserts bias.

Evidently the European Union.

You prioritize based on risk. Do what you need to do to get you through a temporary illness, then get back on track. A few sick days isn't going to matter over the next week, month, year.

I would agree with this, but note that it is getting better. I never offered advice unless asked, but as soon as I mentioned calories - or God forbid - the counting of the calories...then the eyes glaze over, the mind and body go slack... So you do keto? So you no do keto? Recently though I've seen a number of people using…

We've discussed this before and I thought our little community manages our differences quite well: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10591008/food-stamps-restriction#latest I think we came up with much better ideas than those enacted.

Biochemical pathways are not all or nothing. There are multiple pathways and will prefer the path of least resistance. Note this also occurs at a molecular level and does not amount to anything resembling a detectable level...so meaningless in terms of weight management.

This isn't limited to health "science".

Why do you see these issues as separate? Before trying "various" things ask these questions: Compared to what? At what cost? What objective evidence do you have? Who benefits from enacting this change? Who suffers from enacting this change? Also consider that society may be at 80% positive, so any attempts to make things…

I assumed as much. Bottom line that we all pretty much suck at communication and you need to find a better way to do this effectively. What you'll likely find is that you are incapable of changing the behavior of anyone other than yourself, so your best course of action is to inspire.

I take woo as a number of potential things (but with a grain of salt): 1. I haven't been clear in a post 2. I've stated something defying convention 3. I stated something wrong 4. I stated something right

I'm not singling you out - just an observation on how people justify use of force and individual philosophy. Prior to doing "something" you must take careful consideration of the consequences - both intended and unintended. Is it conflation? ...or does this expose a massive inconsistency in current thinking? If it is…

This would be the ideal, but would destroy a 66 billion dollar industry.
