Amazingly inspiring. I have 84 pounds to lose to be at a healthy weight. I have eliminated wheat as I find I am feeling better without it. I am aiming for 1.5-2 pounds a week.

Are you taking supplements and doing exercises for the condition? As we get older we get new challenges. My mum has arthritis and she does exercises every evening to manage her condition.

Thank you foreverhealthy3. I am trying to get into that habit, like you said maybe having a regular menu is a good idea. I could always add one new dish once a week.

I am 57 and have a desk job. This is my first challenge. For me it about eating at certain times, my afternoon snack and evening meal. I am attempting to stick to 1,900-2,000 calories a day (on bad days I am eating 2,700/3000). Over the years I have become a compulsive eater and have had a negative relationship with food.…

I am happy to buddy up. I am an emotional eater (I also seem to have a trigger ingredient - wheat) I have 5+ stone to lose.

That is so inspiring. Thank you for the post, it has inspired me to start again.

Is this group still active? I would like to join.
-
I am also wondering the same thing. There doesn't seem to be any new posts.

How did you do that? simply calorie counting or Keto or low carb?

I have a trigger ingredient (WHEAT) that leads me to compulsive eating and binging. So today is my day 1 of trying to avoid it and stick to my calorie limit. I would LOVE to lose 7 pounds of what is left of May. I forget about the wheat thing. The last few days been eating "All Bran" which is loaded with WHEAT. 1st day of…

Where is everyone? Is this group still active? I am checking in my 1st day after a period of disastrous eating. Avoiding WHEAT. This is my trigger.

Hello, wish you the best on the first day! the smaller goal tip from Vince sounds very interesting. May try this myself.

Evenings are worse. So i am thinking of saving most calories to use up in eveni gs.

Many thanks. I would love to stick to my calorie allowance and feel clear headed and well. Instead of heavy and unhappy on my current calorie intake. I eat mindlessly without tracking and snack on stuff that are calorie dense eg almonds or a bar of chocolate or large portioms/second helpings.

I am in EXACTLY same work situation as you. I also tried the new WW plan online, but couldn't follow it and found it quite restrictive so stopped doing it. I am trying to do a combination of Paul McKenna and calorie counting, eating slowly, stopping when full. I have only started today and I have given myself a 1,700…

Me too, I am 51 and really struggling with the menopause. I have dreadful sweating and headaches off and on and fatigue. Plus sugar cravings... Finding it very hard to follow any sort of calorie counting

Maybe carry a small protein meal so that when you know you will feel hungry you can eat it before you become too hungry. For example i know that each day around 4 30pm i am ravenous so if i am having a good day, i eat something at 4pm eg around 250/300 calories. When i forget to fo this at 4pm, by 5pm i am massively…

Try looking at hypnosisdownloads.com site you can download emotional eating hypnosis for a reasonable amount. You may find it helpful. They also have other dowoads too. Very effective if used regularly.

Please add me.

I weight in at 15 stone and a half and it is the heaviest I have been. I haven't been succeeding up to now because I think I wasn't eating enough during the day and then binge eating 1,800 calories just in the evenings. I hadn't really realised that may have been a reason for massively over eating in the evenings as I have…

Yes it definitely feels like self harm. I wake up the next day in despair, not knowing what to do... but I think it isn't always simply about greed.... white flour is highly addictive, so I am going to avoid this and see if it helps

Sorry to hear about this. Sounds like a horrid place. The sooner you get out the better. In the meantime, try to take care of yourself. Sometimes we don't see the wood from the trees and it can be so tricky.

I haven't taken any photos but It is probably a good idea as it is very inspirational when you look at it later...I don't feel confident enough to do this as yet... I generally avoid photos as I am very self conscious.

Morning peeps, yesterday was a good JFT day. Today will be another one. Just for Today: 1. I will follow step 1 "I am powerless over... WHEAT". 2. I will stick to my abstinent meals. 3. I will stick to my calorie count of 1,700. 3. Will plan to go to Bingo. 4. will keep my mouth shut at work. (There are good reasons for…

I find that I weigh myself every 3 days or so. Although I have one day a week as my "main" official weigh in day otherwise I will lose the plot. I recently discovered that I have a "trigger" food (WHEAT) so I am avoiding this and I weigh in every 3 days or so to keep track and this reassures me. Some people prefer to go…
