Made my first post on this thread 2 years ago this week - on the first page in fact. Happy to say I have kept the weight off too (although not my absolute lowest it's a weight I'm really happy with). Here's a more recent 'after' pic. First pic is 221lbs+ and second one is around 147lbs. Well done everyone on here!

Mine is syncing steps absolutely fine, but isn't sending the data about my swimming from mfp to Fitbit. Annoying.

Good to see so many of you have signed up for Bounts!

If you go to your fitbit dashboard and click on your profile you can see your average burn for the past 30 days. You can also see your average intake. If you subtract one from the other you'll see your average deficit. If you times your average deficit by 30 you'll see your total deficit. If you then divide that by 3500…

Great! It really is good! The app can be glitchy sometimes but as it's all free I'm not complaining. You can also get points for gym check ins, and auto logged activity on other apps like Strava and Swimtag. It seems too good to be true but it really isn't - I have the maxi dress to prove it!

Any step based exercise is counted by the Fitbit. Any exercise which isn't step based (eg swimming/cycling) has to be logged separately. I log my swimming on MFP, some people would log it on Fitbit. Whichever you do, if your accounts are linked then they will 'talk to each other' and share that info. So I log my swim on…

That's the one I have and I love it! It's the best £70 I have ever spent (and they are even cheaper now!). If you can afford to prioritise it above other things then go for it!

If you go to your Fitbit dashboard it will give you an average burn and average intake for the past 30 days. Subtract the intake from the burn to get your average deficit. Multiply this by 30 to get your total deficit. Divide the total deficit by 3500 to get the predicted number of pounds list if everything has been…

You sound like you're really ready to take control! That's the number one factor in being successful! Good luck!

I'm pretty happy with my legs and they don't seem dissimilar to the other sizes posted here: CW: 139lbs Height: 5'7 Thigh: 20.5" Calf: 14" My starting weight was 221lbs and then my thighs were 26"

I got into a really bad habit of ordering pizza at least once a week - a massive one - and eating it all! I still love pizza but one big change I've made is that when I do really fancy pizza, I get one from the supermarket and cook it myself. If I'm wanting pizza I'm going to be feeling too lazy to make it myself from…

I would think you'd burn less. I use this site to calculate my swimming calorie burns - they come out lower than MFP has them. http://www.swimmingcalculator.com/swim_calories_calculator.php

That would make sense to me, but on non-working days I tend to get a higher percentage of my steps from on the spot jogging. Saying that, when I'm walking around at work I am pretty quick about it! I guess I'll just have to trust it to do its thing! I've maintained for 7 months using my fitbit calories as a guide - I tend…

Ps - well done with your achievements so far!

Hi! I've just discovered Fitness Blender and started on the Free 5 day plan for busy people. Feel free to add me!

I'm a 32 yo female 5'7. I followed Weight Watchers and lost 4 stone in 6 months. Started at 15st 11lbs. I usually lost 1.5-2lbs a week and from what I can work out if a WW point = 40 kcals then I was eating an average of 1400-1500 kcals a day. Good luck - any loss is better than none but you've left yourself plenty of time…

Wow, very committed! Well done you - I'd be exhausted!

How do you find time for so many steps?! I only got over 30k twice and that was when I climbed a mountain and spent the whole day walking!

I'm 5'7 and weigh 140lbs. I'm set to lightly active as I'm a teacher and when I'm at work I do around 8k steps a day with no additional effort (that's pretty hard now I'm off work though!) In a typical working week fitbit has given me the following adjustments: Monday - 11k steps > 259 kcals Tuesday - 12k steps > 376 kcals…

I also have a fitbit and I do believe what it tells me, but I also know that I am not entirely accurate with my logging and that MFP overestimates the amount I burn when I swim. I have been set for maintenance and have tried to keep 500 cals a day 'left over' to account for any logging inaccuracies etc, and also to give me…

I did exactly the same a couple of weeks ago. Went away to Majorca weighing 9st 12lbs. Came back weighing 10st 5lbs. Now, 2 weeks later, I weigh 9st 11lbs without having cut back huge amounts (averaged 2100 cals this week). I've just cut back a little bit to get rid of the water weight. I didn't count calories while I was…

I went on an all-inclusive holiday last week; my first after losing 6 stone. I decided to enjoy myself alcohol-wise. Had a bar of chocolate each day and a McDonalds on the way home. Made sure I walked my 10k steps a day using my fitbit. Got back on Sunday half a stone (7lbs) heavier than when I left and got straight back…

I'm really confused by this. My active minutes for previous day's has more than doubled. But yesterday and today it's giving me way less than expected. Yesterday after updating my active minutes went from 97 to 60 (so only showing my swimming minutes, not my step active minutes). Today it's given me 8 active step minutes,…

I am maintaining and had my activity set to sedentary. I'd start the day with a 1710 cal goal (5'7 32yo female). I usually end up with a 2700 cal goal after fitbit adjustment and adding in my swimming. I changed my activity level to lightly active and now get a 1910 starting goal and still the same at the end of the day. I…

How long have you been doing this? Taking photos really helped me as I can't see changes in the mirror. Even after losing 84lbs I still don't feel good when I look in the mirror, but I love looking at photos as I can really see the difference then! Strangely there have been a number of times when everyone I've seen at work…

It does the same on mine sometimes. Sometimes it says 6st lost, other times it says 2lbs. No idea why. Just a glitch I think.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm using my fitbit more for maintenance but find it pretty accurate. I have the premium option and it tells me than since the start of January I should have lost 8.2lbs. My actual loss has been 6.4lbs. I think that's pretty good given that I am much looser with my logging now and I'm sure MFP is…

What activity level do you have set on here? If you're not down as sedentary then your activity is already factored into your calorie allowance. I have a fitbit and have activity level set to sedentary on here. I'm far from sedentary and I usually get an extra 600 or so calories added from my fitbit for doing between…

I'm 5'7, started at 221lbs and now 137lbs. I measure from the narrowest part of my waist. SW: 45.6 inches CW: 29.6 inches I feel I've got quite a thick waist, but obviously pleased with it anyway as I've spent my whole adult life overweight.

I'm 5'7 and have lost 84lvs (6 stone) in total in just over a year. The pics here aren't quite at my highest/lowest, but just about. Gone from a UK size 20 to size
