This is what I do. My hamburgers taste better than what I can buy anyway. I had two nights this week where I had an 8 oz cheeseburger and fries. It was yummy. We have a small butcher here that sells the best ground sirloin I have ever had. I fit them into my calories, and I am down a pound this week. The hamburger also…

I eat a burger and fries, lol. You can have them and fit them in your calories.

^^This. And it really doesn't consume enough of my time for it to be considered boring. It only takes a minute or two to log a meal...less than that if I don't have to search for food in the database. And weighing food only takes seconds as well.

^^This. I mean, congrats to you OP for taking this step, but wasted food is one of my big pet peeves. It might be because I've had several times during my life where I didn't have the money to buy food. One time in particular I didn't have any food to eat for four days. At that point, I would have killed for a few bites of…

OP ignore this. It's NOT a myth. And if you lost 18 in a month, some of it was likely water weight.

You could eat nothing but cheese and lose weight as long as you eat at a deficit. Not sure if I'd recommend it though for...um...reasons, lol.

Ya, not to be a debbie downer, but that's not going to happen.

Greece...just for the scenery and food.

A lifetime of depression and using food as a source of comfort.

SOOO much this^^^. I don't get invitations anymore, lol. I would always get the same answer. "You can always get a salad." Honestly, it's not about eating a salad, and actually some salads have more calories then other entrees. I don't even eat salad very often. They don't seem to get that I can eat things other than…

Congratulations on your loss. I will say though that you could have lost that same weight eating any food with the same number of calories...even "junk" food. It's not the type of food that matters in terms of weight loss but a calorie deficit. It's about how much you eat. I've lost over 90 pounds by eating all sorts of…

Whatever fits into your calories for the day. There is no specific food that will help you lose or maintain weight better than another. It's calories in vs. calories out.

I just use mayo. There's no substitute in my opinion. It's not too bad on calories if you don't use a ton of it.
-
Well, I know you don't want to take medicine, but maybe you should at least see a doctor if this is out of the norm for you and if you are getting enough fiber.

This is my last one I PROMISE. I saw that picture of Molly Ringwald someone posted, and it reminded me of him. What can I say? I was a hornball as a teen I guess, lol. I was one of those girls that had posters of about 20 different guys plastered on my bedroom walls. A few of them still stand out.

I don't know how I forgot Keanu Reeves :p Probably because I didn't get a major crush on him until he was a bit older. He didn't do it for me in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, lol.
-
Oh, and who could forget my girl crush. :D

I had a few.... Patrick Swayze (aka Sexy Swayze) Mikhail Baryshnikov...(what can I say, I guess I like dancers, lol) LOVED him in White Nights. I think I saw that movie 100 times. And, of course, young Harrison Ford. Star wars was probably the only movie I saw more than White Nights and Dirty Dancing. :D

I don't care for them. In my opinion, they taste horrible and leave me hungry (and yes I've tried baking them and drinking a lot of water with them), but if you like the taste and want to fit them into your diet go for it. I'm not sure what you mean by not knowing if they work. They won't speed up weight loss if that's…

^^^This is me. I've always eaten this way though even before I lost weight, so I know it's sustainable for me. I usually eat 600 to 800 during the day so I have 1000 to 1200 for the evening. That's normal for me as I've eaten that way for years...well, in terms of time of day, not calories, lol. Do what feels right for…

I'm just the opposite. I can't believe I can lose all this weight while still being "bad." After years of being conditioned to think that I can't eat certain things if I want to lose weight, it's nice to finally understand that I CAN eat them and still lose weight.

It's been a week. Be patient and make sure you are weighing/measuring everything and doing accurate logging.

:D That's what I was thinking when I read the title. Wasn't sure what to expect when I opened this thread. I was a little disappointed when I saw it was actually about milkshakes, lol.

I sympathize. I've lost just over 90 pounds, and sometimes I still don't recognize myself. It seems strange. I'll walk by a mirror in the department store or see my reflection in a window and think it's someone else. When I realize it's me, it's a bit shocking, lol. And I still don't know how to dress myself.…
