Hey Slimsons! I'm sure this won't mean anything to y'all, but I had an achievement that I'm proud of today! In the CrossFit Open games - today I completed workout 20.5 UNDER the time limit! I think I was the only one in the entire gym that busted out the 80 calorie row without taking a break. My quads are killing me, but…

Just checking in, y'all... I'm currently working 50+ hour weeks, and will be until the New Year. However I'm 100% committed to dropping my weight and continuing my physical fitness (and IRONMAN) journey. Every day after work, I go to CrossFit. Once home, I eat and get food/clothes ready for the next work day. This means I…

Daily post Monday Track: No Carbs: on track Exercise: Hell Yes! Comments: "Easy" CrossFit class today. As always, CrossFit is the best part of my day! We'll see how I do tomorrow - I have to make up a killer leg workout tomorrow (CrossFit 20.4 for those in the know). Upon completion, my quads will be demolished! My…

Daily Post -Sunday Track - No Calories - No Exercise - Yes! I don't track calories or count anything, I do HF/LC (practically Keto). After I worked my 10 hour day today (I work 4 - 10 hour days for now, but will have to do 5 - 10 hour days starting next week till the end of the year). I made it to the gym after work for an…

username = 3athlt I've had an MFP account for a number of years. MFP was instrumental as I once weighed over 325 pounds (about 218 now). I was doing moderately well, but I faced some serious adversity last year - my fiance suddenly died 90 days before we getting married. As I grieved, I gained about 50 pounds. This spring,…

Please count me in. 3athlt Monday 217.8 I've joined the group and posted this message. Please let me know if there's anything else I need to do. Thank you SO much!

As an unfortunate veteran of seven foot/ankle surgeries I can definitely relate to pain onset due to running and/or walking. I would definitely perform an internet search for foot/ankle exercises. There's lots of things you can use to begin, including a towel (I still HATE that exercise!) and thera-bands. I also suggest to…

@salsup317 - Gotta LOVE Honey Stingers! They're such a nice break from freaking gels. However I stay away from caffeine, as I find it elevates my heart rate and that's the last thing I want - especially when I have a longer effort planned. @ephiemarie - Solid advice about replenishing the protein! @aub6689 - If you're…

Sorry to hear about your broken foot, but being a veteran of SEVEN foot and ankle surgeries I can certainly relate to your newfound freedom when you ditched the knee scooter. Since you're now into what sounds like a walking boot you can probably get on the elliptical machine. But if you're like me, having the height…

Yes there is a thing as "too much cardio". See - http://www.marksdailyapple.com/case-against-cardio/#axzz3wyHdd4vb (but here's a short recap in case you don't have time to read all of that) The benefits of low level aerobic work (walking, hiking, cycling, swimming): – increases capillary network (blood vessels that supply…

I would never give away my draft strategy in a public forum, but I sent you a PM. My main focus is on dynasty leagues, but I'll probably end up doing a couple redraft leagues just for fun.

Great read! Thanks for taking the time to write this up!

One odd thing I've heard that helps is pickles and pickle juice... no kidding.

I root for my hometown team (Cincinnati Bengals, unfortunately) but I mainly root against certain teams (who I won't mention). However, I'm most thankful that after taking a one year break, I'm back in a dynasty fantasy football league again. After being in 17 leagues in 2013 (and commish or co-commish of 4 leagues) I got…

One thing not mentioned is having a Road ID and running the Road ID app on your phone. With the app, if you remain stationary for more than 5 minutes - it sends a text out to your emergency contacts (you can choose 5) to let them know you're in trouble. Also, you can put in contact info into the Road ID, allergy info, and…

I went to: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/23818-biggest-losers-team-challenge and clicked "Join This Group". I've told a few of my MFP friends about this and I'm pretty excited to be a part of this. Being accountable to team members somehow make me more accountable because I don't want to let them down. I'm…

I am interested in adopting some noobs. I'm 50 years old, and have struggled with weight most of my life. In February 2014, I tipped the scales at 305 and I decided that I needed to make some changes in my life. I lost 22 pounds between 2/14 and 7/27/14 (when I joined MFP). But MFP has been a game changer for me. I've lost…

I was about 275 when I started running. I'll be under 200 soon, and I'm currently training for a spring marathon.
-
I've watched a few episodes lately. While this show doesn't motivate me the way that The Biggest Loser motivates me, it reminds me of what could be ahead of me if I don't stay on this path.
-
Feel free to add me. I've lost 87 pounds since I started this journey - 65 of which while on MFP. I'm only 18 pounds away from ONEderland, 45 away from a secondary goal, and 73 away from my final goal.

My mini-goals this week: Continue to work out every day.. and the big one of no late night snacks when I get home from work. Those late nite calories are killing me! My reward to buy one of those juicers and start using it ASAP. I not very good about eating green veggies and a juicer might be the ticket to getting that…

I'm very bummed out that Scott didn't make it back to the ranch. However, you gotta love Damien's story and both the mental and physical progress that he's made. "Rob really reminded me of Chris Farley doing a Saturday Night Live character! " LMAO! That's SO true!!! Rob's nickname should be Captain Meltdown! However, Bob…

I have ambitious plans after this challenge is over. Imagine that? LOL :D They include: Continuing my spring marathon training (and obviously getting another marathon finisher's medal). Continuing my P90X3 program. Keep logging everything on MFP. Adding in more squats, lunges, and jumps while at work (I just started doing…

Makeover week is probably my least favorite episode of the year. My man Scott Mitchell looks great, though! I hated the cliffhanger, but hopefully it will be worth it when I see the next episode. I just hope Scott Mitchell can pull off the "Comeback" and get back on the ranch! I've been pulling for him all season! I just…

FYI - I just found this... The USAT (triathlon) Coaches manual now states that the average bike HR is about 5-10 beats per minute below the comparable run heart rate. Keep in mind that everybody is different, so your numbers may be significantly different. So again, try to find your aerobic level for both running and…
-
Most people's average HR for running is higher than for cycling. You obviously use more muscles while running than cycling. I've been using a HRM for years and I find this to be true for myself. The trick is to find your aerobic level for each activity and adjust your workouts accordingly.

I just watched the show. I've come to the conclusion that Rob has some mental issues and needs some meds and therapy. He continues to wear me out, though. I think I've called him a "little girl" on every episode. Every time that I think rob is turning the corner, the next week he's being a baby again. I'm glad that Scott…

Part 1 - My first goal for 2015 weight-wise is to get back to my former "racing" weight of 175. I only have 47 pounds to go! :-) Last year I was VERY unmotivated and had no goals whatsoever. Thankfully, this year is a completely different story! :-) Part 2 - Again, I had no goals last year. However once I decided that I…
