People who are very fit can struggle to stay that way..Nothing offensive if you are sincere. I am 100 pounds overweight, I don't presume to understand all the problems of someone weighing 600 pounds but I have empathy because I know how much of a struggle it is for me. We all have our struggles, yours are just as valid as…

Soup and chili are fantastic! Make some turkey chili grab a bag of frozen vegetables and pound it with a mallet or whatever to break the veg down into small pieces and simmer in the chilli for the last 45 min. My mother makes the exact same thing but leaves the veg in big pieces and I don't like it.. .I like the veg…

My gallstone was the size of an egg and could never be pushed out. Attacks were because it got in front of the duct. I didn't want surgery either but had to have it out when it became infected and gangrene. I hope you have a different outcome. Many people live fine with stones and never need surgery.

Meh...I have been 400 pounds and am currently 280. My ldl: hdl is "optimal" putting me at significantly reduced risk....my fasting glucose is 70... BP is 105/70.....resting heart rate is 54.... Liver enzymes are low... Other than my thyroid pannel, all my numbers are perfect. I have very little visceral fat... Even though…

Autoimmune diseases run in families but don't always present in the same way.....some might have vittiligo, some hashimotos, some RA, some lupus some juvenile diabetes, some celiac, etc. I have many of these in my family, especially hashimotos. If you have many autoimmune diseases in your family then you are at increased…

I went wheat free on my own and felt sooooooo much better....stuck to it for over two years...then let small amounts creep back in and convinced myself that it didn't matter because I was not celiac and I could eat it and I was just someone who thought I felt better without wheat and was just fooling myself...even though…

My original size was a TIGHT size 30/32.. beyond the maximum size of most plus size stores. The first time I went clothes shopping since losing some weight, I was in a plus size 14/16 on top and 18/20 on bottom. I simply couldn't process that in my mind. Fortunately I brought my sister with me.. who would RIP any size 26…

Well, with a strong British presence since the mid 1800s.... and calculating a 25 years per generation, that's almost eight generations of "born Indians" that can have English ancestry.

Ideally I'm a daily weigher... I like to see the fluctuations and they don't bother me...but I don't currently have a scale right now and they're really expensive where I live so I just go to the pharmacy on the first of each month to weigh in. It only costs half a dinar ( about 28 cents) and buying a reliable scale here…

I lost 70 pounds prior to surgery following a VLCD for a few months that was prescribed by my doctor. I was only able to stick with it because I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. There is NO WAY I would have been able to stick with eating that few calories for the length of time it would take to lose 200…

I struggled at certain weights... I was on a VLCD (doctor supervised of course) and even with a VLCD and regular exercise I got stuck at 310 for two weeks! Around 260 I got stuck for a MONTH... I lost ONE POUND in the whole month while honestly eating at a deficit that should have yeilded an 8 pound loss. NOW at my current…

http://www.health.harvard.edu/newsweek/Listing_of_vitamins.htm Just try not to go consistently over the upper limit if one has been established.. If an upper limit has not been established then don't worry about it unless you have a medical reason to avoid certain nutrients.

I agree that MOST people can't... and nothing will repair a thyroid that is already damaged.. but DIET can help in some cases. It all depends on the REASON for your wonky thyroid and how much damage your actual thyroid gland has sustained. I'm happy that I was one of the ones in the minority who DID find relief through…

YAYYYYYYY! These posts make me so happy. When I finally got out of the 300's I celebrated for like a WEEK! I can't imagine how it will feel to be out of the 200's and with a holiday bonus to use to buy myself a little reward would only make it that much sweeter! Enjoy your celebration! You've definitely earned it. Save a…

I make homemade english muffins on the stove top for my husband (I can't eat them :'( ) Super easy way to "bake" bread in a frying pan.

If your thyroid is already damaged NOTHING can repair it. You're sunk... BUT if your thyroid is still functioning and your issues are with how your body is processing the hormone, or if you are in the early stages, then I think it's worth a shot. I was previously taking Synthroid and since going wheat free...NOT GLUTEN…

I like plain yogurt that I sweeten a bit and add some geranium water and eat with pomegranate. WORST... any chocolate or coffee or caramel flavors

I just put in my original weight and it didn't even register on the chart! I was heavier than 100% of women in my country and in the world. Which seems pretty accurate since I was always the largest person in the room no matter where I was. Now even after a 130 pound weight loss, I'm still among the top .5% of women in the…

I live in Africa... as a 230 pound 40something year old woman I feel AVERAGE compared with other women my age. There are some "fat" countries in Africa for sure and I'm definitely living in one of them!
