  • I agree with this... you can also try cutting the portion size of your pasta OR try a lower calorie pasta... The main this I saw was that you were slightly over on calories and sodium and you hit your max on the fat. So look at the things high in calories, fat, and sodium and try to reduce the portion size (I don't agree…
  • I've seen some of her posts before, they tended to be along the same lines. I don't get why someone would even bother to post that kind of nonsense in the first place :frown: But on to the clerk... you should definitely call or write the manager. A sales associate's job is ASSIST customers and MAKE SALES. Telling a…
  • To lose weight you MUST have a deficit . For 1 pound the deficit is 3500 calories (over time). So if you require 1400 calories to live normally and are eating between 1400-1800 and exercising off 500 -700 you are on the edge of losing weight at a slow steady pace.... For example if you eat 1800 and burn off 500 your net is…
  • I've never done Zumba classes or videos just on wii and I LOVE IT. When I bust my @$$ I am burning around 700-800 calories in a 45 minute session! Oh and I bought mine from ebay and got a decent deal! Edited to add - the calories burned is based on my HRM :)
  • If you aren't hungry, you should be fine but if you are still worried you should talk to a doctor about it and get a professional opinion. Some days I go over 1200 and some days I am under. Since I started on MFP I have tried to really listen to my body and not to force myself to eat or starve myself. If you are wanting to…
  • Try your measurements sometimes the inches are falling even if the scale isn't! Keep it up I'm sure the scale will catch up!!!!
  • I will weigh in in the morning but I was measured tonight after 12 days (had to be measured early because My handy measurer is going out of town tomorrow) and I got my most surprising NSV - wow I lost 2.5 inches off my hips.. WOO HOO!!! Totals for the week... Minimum Water goal met everyday Worked out 264 minutes for an…
  • I'm pretty sure the week starts on Saturday and ends on Friday IF you are doing a Friday weigh in. That would be 7 days... Anyone know what the new challenge is unless I scrolled past it accidentally I haven't seen it up anywhere...???
  • Yes, Sunday is fine. Many people send in their info on Mondaysas long as you are keeping track of your week just send Sommerjo the data when you get it... My mid-week up date.... 295 minutes so far from Friday to today with my rest day being yesterday. I am averaging 49.6 minutes a day and this includes the 0 minutes from…
  • To avoid the riding up part I switche to capris... I got a cheap pair at target!
  • I don't even want to think about what a disaster it would be if I made Kraft mac and Cheese (Its not even in my house right now).... The only good thing (if you could even call it that) would be that I have never made it according to the directions which means no butter but probably twice the amount of skim milk... Made it…
  • The only way you could have possibly gained four true pounds of fat is if you ate 14,000 calories OVER what you need daily... I highly doubt that you did that!! What you ate was probably high in sodium and other things your body isn't used to and you are now retaining tons of water. Get back on your plan and drink lots of…
  • You are doing great!!! Honestly you shouldn't lose more than 2 pounds a week on average if you are doing it the healthy way. So needing to lose 60 pounds at 2 pounds at most a week is at least 30 weeks or 7 1/2 months but to me it's worth it if in the end you learn how to better take care of yourself and you get the…
  • heart rate monitor is the best... but I used this site until I got mine :) http://www.zumbacalories.com/
  • Yes muscle is more dense and therefore if you have the same volume of the two, muscle weighs more. I understand your perspective but you are assuming that you are weighing the same weights and what would be the point of that - why would anyone grab two items that they know weigh the same and then say they are different…
  • A pound is a pound BUT a pound of fat is BIGGER than a pound of muscle.... take a "cup" of fat and a "cup" of muscle and weigh them the muscle would weigh more!!!
  • Hard workouts tear your muscles and to repair themselves they retain water.... be sure to drink "tons" of water to help your body release the excess water and give yourself a rest day, one a week or so. I don't think you are doing too much. I am trying to bump up my exercise in the past week and a half and in doing so I…
  • 1. I track everything I eat even if its a bad day- I need to know the damage I've done so I can begin to repair it the next day  2. I plan extra exercise when I know I'm going out to dinner (or something similar) 3. I use snack bags for treats. Ex. I buy a box of reduced fat cheeze its I bag the entire box into…
  • I'll pass but maybe you could sell it on ebay. People will buy anything on ebay!
  • I agree it is rude to not offer alternatives! I used to teach at an inner city school in the south and they always served fried this and fried that or fish (which i hate) and that was usually fried too -occasionally it was barbeque which was one of the few things I would eat but pulled pork is not healthy! It agrivated me…
  • I loved my shape-ups. I could feel my calves burning when I wore them (in a good way!). I wore mine until they died, literaly I haven't bought another pair because of the cost but once I can afford it I am going to!
  • You body should still burn more until you went to bed if you worked out at 8pm but then again if you worked out at noon it would be rev'd up longer... But in the end either time is better than no time because over time you create more lean muscle which will lead to a faster metabolism and therefore you will lose weight…
  • Thanks for all the suggestions.. I have a new list of things to try out and can't wait to get started on some new recipes and foods!
  • It's the flavor and consistancy of beans so I guess all around.. My mom is mexican american and my dad from Massachusetts so refired beans were a regular dinner item for mom and baked beans for dad --- I hated them both! Thanks for responding I appreciate it!
  • WOW! I wish I would have seen this before I went searching through MFP posts looking for info on protein powders. I've never used protein powders before and the only shakes I have had (Besides the yummy ones from steak and shake) are meal replacements. I'm not looking to up calories too much just add in protein and give…
  • Sounds like something try... I have tried different bars before and when they taste like card board I just cant do it
  • Opps I left off cheese and peanut butter - I do eat those I have to watch myself with the cheese because one slice can turn in the entire block!
  • Never heard it this one so i had to look it up... It looks interesting I'm going to have to give this one a try for sure Thanks for the suggestion!
  • Like she said ;) It's better to do it with exercise because even though you only burn 300 calories for the 30 mins you were exercising you woke your body up so to speak, and you will burn more calories at rest for the remaining day than if you hadn't worked out at all - does that make sense??
  • This is a great idea last summer I lost almost 30 pounds only to gain 40 during the school year... We start back with planning days on Monday and the first thing on the agenda is Welcome Back breakfast and then for lunch it's a pot luck which helps since I can bring something healthy. Then we have the bi weekly Friday…
