Start something with a friend. A few weeks ago I was just starting out and had basically never exercised before, had no idea what to do and didn't really want to do anything anyway. It was only chance that a friend said she was starting the gym and asked if anyone else would like to go. We go over to the next town (purely…

Little black dress 30 day challenge, 30 day bum challenge. 25 minutes on cardio, 35 minutes lifting weights, and 5,000 steps. And to think I didn't excersise 2 weeks ago!
-
For me it was literally instantly. I decided to calorie count and the scales went down the next morning!

No, definitely feels like I had a good work out, but I ache today. But I'm an "achey" person. If I do 2,000 over my norm I feel it the next day. I just wondered if it was a good or bad thing but I guess it doesn't mean either. One more question, if I mildly ache am I still ok to work out whilst I feel like that? Or do I…
-
So, say I work out for an hour and the next day I don't feel any ache whatsoever - it doesn't mean I didn't work hard enough?
-
I give in! I'll make sure I have saved up calories the day before I'm due (when I'm at my worst) and I'll get the thickest, richest chocolate bar going! Because I've cut out chocolate, afterwards I feel sick, but satisfied too! And don't crave anything else.
-
For some odd reason, 1200 a day does work for me. I've been doing it a month so far and it's fine for me. I've had the odd days where I go over if I go out for a birthday meal/drink but other than that, I really don't need anymore. To watch me for a day you wouldn't think I'm on a "diet". I've only told one friend what I'm…

I'd say there you look much less than 256lb. I think that a lot when I read success stories too. The "before" photos never look the weight they do when I compare them to myself. I'm just over 200 and I look much bigger than you in that picture. But like someone else said, it's probably the fact of most people are very…

I weigh every morning. It's something that I look forward to, but at the same time it doesn't affect my day at all if I've gone up a lb or 2. If/when that does start happening is when I'll stop weighing daily.
-
Oh yeah, I can understand how if you lost weight the skin wouldn't be as tight so it would feel looser than before but what causes that hard fat and why don't some people have that? The typical "hard fat" that I'm imagining is on someone with a "beer belly". They won't usually have rolls of fat and look almost bloated.

I'm vegetarian going on vegan, but as said before, because I always cook from fresh I eat vegan a lot. I only cook relatively quick meals and freeze a lot of them for convenience. Casseroles are always good, I'll get a packet casserole mix, chop up and load of veg, add spices and fake/soya/tofu "meats". Or roasted nut…
-
Always. If I don't plan I put cooking off and off and then get so hungry that I want to eat something really quick, and usually high in calories and low in nutrition. I plan the days food the evening before. A couple of ingredients will change here and there but it works so well for me.
-
Not sure if I'll always be happy eating like this. Now, I would say yes but if I'm not I can just change it when that arises. If I WANT something, I will just have it. I can't stop myself. But in this case I REALLY want to loose weight so I'm not sure if it's that real want to loose weight that has genuinely taken away all…

Nope, I always weigh things like nuts and seeds. I'll have 12.5g of mixed seeds and the same with cashews. This will total to 150 cals which is nothing! I'll have 25g of nuts and seeds on a meal and another 25 as a snack later on usually because my calories are too low.
-
But when I have a little treat, it's like when a shark smells blood. That is then the point that everything goes out the window and it danger zone! But up until I actually put it in my mouth, I have no desire for it. It's easy for me to watch my partner eat a share size chocolate bar and not want it. So I just thought it…

I get my protein from looooads of other things. Kale, peas, nuts, beans, tofu. I also occasionally drink milk alternatives which have loads in. As does quinoa and I'm sure there's loads more too. Secondly, I thought starvation mode didn't work like that? As long as your in deficit you'll loose weight and only plateau when…
-
Ok, so am I right in basically saying the person is usually causing the plateau themselves without knowing it? Rather than you body doing something uncontrollably? And it is avoidable?
-
I very rarely eat bread and pasta but I eat potatoes pretty much every day. If I try and aim for a little under what MFP advises, carbohydrate-wise, should that be ok?
-
Do you mean sticking to the percentages that MFP gives me? I try to get as close as possible with them but it's never spot on. I struggle getting protein WITHOUT the fat and carbs (as I'm transitioning to vegan). I don't exercise much. I do about 10,000 steps a day, then about 20-30 mins on arms and legs so I should really…

Went over board on the vodka (won't say how much!) and drank a bottle of Sourz. It's completely loaded with sugar - didn't seem a bad choice at the time for some reason! And we all stayed in so I could calculate pretty much exactly what I had drunk from what was left at the end of the night! Albeit a major one, it's my…
-
Me too! I was very tempted to "forget" a few drinks here and there but logged it all honestly!
-
But I've just weighed myself and I've lost 2lb since the same time yesterday. When should I expect to see it on the scales?
-
Well, I ended up eating my usual calories in food and then another 3 AND A HALF THOUSAND ON TOP from alcohol. Jeez, I'm so done until Christmas now.
-
Just vodka! I thought it would be reasonably lo cal for some reason - apparently not!
-
But thanks to all the people who answered and those who didn't judge! I will have a good night, thanks!
-
Sorry to disappoint but I'm not! I don't even like beer, and like I say, I drink only 4 or 5 times a year. There's no hidden agenda, or some awful alcoholism that I'm trying to hide - literally just asking about the calories lol
-
Wow didn't think there would be so many replies this morning! I think some people have gotten confused - I'm just drinking 300mls tonight - not 750! But it's not unusual in my circle of friends to drink a bottle of vodka over 12/18hrs. Glad there are a few on here that don't think I'm a raging alcoholic! I'm going to bulk…
-
But I'm not trying to deny 3/4 a litre of vodka isn't a huge amount! I just thought 300mls was pretty normal!
-
Well, on the rare occasions I do go out I'll be out until the next day so if you think that I could be potentially drinking over 18 hours then I guess it is in moderation !! But tomorrow I'm just going to be "normal" and only drink for a few hours!
