  • Pink & Whites and Jammy Pink & Whites. They are 2 wafers sandwiched around marshmallow, at 50 cals each (jammy a little bit higher), they satisfy my sweet cravings without breaking the calories bank!
  • The southern vampire mysteries. It is the series that Trueblood was based on (it is not the same story) - easy to read, reasonably short books - there are 12 of them, with number 13, the last one in the series, due out in May.
  • Me too. To coin a phrase... Today is the first day of the rest of my life!
  • This! Although easier said than done. I'm sure it is not malicious, but they do wear down your will power. My mum is dreadful, her own weight yo-yos - not as extreme highs as me though - and if its about health/diet then she has been there, done that, got the t-shirt. But...she can't help herself, if I go to her house she…
  • Your photos just made my say 'Oh WOW!' out loud! You look fantastic!
  • We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. - Arthur O'Shaughnessy (also quoted by Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, LOL!)

  • Mine look like a map of the London Underground! Once they are there I don't think any type of oil or cream is going to make much difference, but keeping the skin moisturised whilst pregnant really helped my sister, who has none. They do fade, but mine are so extensive that even a tummy tuck wouldn't remove them all...…
  • The website 'metric kitchen' is also useful to do some of the conversions. http://www.jsward.com/cooking/conversion.shtml

  • For a sweet treat, I've found that chocolate philadelphia (sound awful, tastes great) sandwiched between 2 icecream wafers, does the trick for under 100cals. Even better, the philadelphia comes in single portion mini pots - no temptation to eat too much!
  • Wow! You look great! Looking ' your pics have just motivated me!
  • Its all the hidden calories, like finishing that half slice of toast off your child's plate, the slice of ham or nub of cheese whilst making the family sandwiches, or eating the broken biscuit (cookie for my friends in the US) when opening the packet (don'tcha know the calories all escape when the biscuit breaks! I…
  • I am no label queen, but it depends on what it is...flour is flour for example, but I agree about coffee. Regardless I always read labels as the cheaper ranges can often be worse nutrictionaly (<---can't spell that!) eg tinned in syrup/oil rather than juice/water. Aldi/Lidl are OK, and the stores tend to be smaller so I…
  • Morning from Cheshire. Where has the summer gone? I'm freezing!
  • I have a Spanish Water Dog called Jester.
  • As long as you are making an informed choice, then it is up to each individual to work out what is more important to them. I've got to say, some days I wish some of these products were available in the UK, they might stop me going off on a 1000+ calorie binge, which is probably worse for me than the odd 'synthetic food…
  • I've just sent friend requests to all the posters above me. I'm in Cheshire, and in dire need of motivation! I lost about 50lb last year, but fell off the wagon & have just heaved myself back on! Would be great to have some UK friends.
  • This. Total life saver, and for 5 extra cals you can get Jammie Pink & Whites, with jam in the middle!
  • I'm in Cheshire with an open diary. Not always the healthiest, but always honest! I know what you mean about getting ideas, particuarly low-cal snack foods, that are available in the UK. Feel free to add me.
  • I feel your pain, lol! For me there are 2 things to deal with...staying on track, and realising that if I do go off the rails that it doesn't mean I'm a complete failure (which leads to comfort eating...) I save up allowance to use, which means that I don't feel guilt, and I make sure that there are a lot of low-cal sweet…
