  • I use bands as well and I follow the fantastic structured workouts on LiveExercise.com, it's a subscription service ($10pm) but the content is amazing. Not just band workouts either.
  • Yeah, can be a killer on leg day for sure.
  • Yes, hence keeping the heart rate up. But it can also help as a conditioning aspect as well, increasing natural strength levels from an increase in oxygen intake.
  • Another method that you could consider is cardio acceleration. After every set of your strength training routine you do 1 minute of fairly intense cardio (and we are literally talking about jogging on the spot, high knees, wood chops, squat jumps etc etc), keeps your heart rate up during sets. It's the training method…
  • Don't know how much a cup of anything is, i weigh all my food by grams, far more accurate.
  • Protein Weetabix
  • Low/fat free Greek yogurt and cottage cheese, fantastic sources of protein.
  • I have a protein shake first thing in the morning and last thing at night and my shake of choice is a Micellar Casien shake, it's slow digesting so gets all those lovely amino acids drip feeding into your system for hours.
  • So you do care then?
  • Blow up angry? No, however when I train I train with intensity and commitment and I do NOT like being disturbed for trivial matters.
  • Personally I use Pre and Post Jym by Jim Stoppani. Pre contains (amongst others) Citrulline Malate 6g Creatine Hydrochloride 2g Beta-Alanine 2g Betaine 1.5g Taurine 1g Post contains Creatine Hydrochloride 2g (4g total) Beta-Alanine 2g (4g total) L-Carnitine L-Tartate 2g Betaine 1.5g (3g total) Taurine 1g (2g total) Potent…
  • Always eat Weetabix and now I eat the Protein Weetabix, top cereal
  • That undigested skin is just as valuable as the digested nutrients, fibre keeps your digestive tract in top shape
  • I get it once a fortnight, yes it can be expensive and yes you could probably make your own but I like the variety and also the surprise of finding out which yummy snack treats I have.

  • Because YOU used the term 'broscience', which in the context of these forums is a derogatory term.
  • Don't know why you would call it broscience when it's widely considered the benchmark throughout the industry, a benchmark most, if not all, the top professional athletes in the body building industry maintain.
  • Not yet, I'm still fighting to reduce bf%, especially around my stomach so I'm seeing how I progress at 1900 calories.
  • 6ft, 182lbs, 47 years of age and my macros are set to 35 carbs/40 protein/ 25 fats and resistance training 6 days a week at the mo. I make sure I'm hitting at least 182g of protein and at least 50g of fats, carbs are really secondary in consideration after those two macros.
  • I've looked at a few other brands of Greek yogurt and to be honest nothing seems to come close to Fage nutritionally. Normally the carbs are to high and the protein to low.
  • I try to hit 182+ grams of protein per day and I do it via a multitude of sources, that includes white meat (chicken, turkey, fish), red meat, eggs ( scrambled, pouched, boiled, pickled etc), cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, nuts, whey, casein, protein bars etc etc. I will even tuck into a small bag of fridge raiders if i…

  • I don't pretend to be an expert on this subject but i follow Jim Stoppani on Youtube and he referenced a Study by McMaster University a few months back on muscle building/fat loss while on a calorie deficit with a high protein intake. https://youtu.be/Ixr2zr0GGf0 ajcn.nutrition.org/content/103/3/738
  • Like them but unless they are offered cheap enough on Amazon they can be dear to get here in the UK, so I've been trying MyProtein MyBar Zero, good taste and very comparable nutritionally to Quest.
  • If you have the time and money to eat 3/4 meals a day, eating your protein goals without supplementation then more power to you, I don't. I don't like eating heavy first thing in the morning I will have a shake, my vits and some weetabix. I work in a busy kitchen and typically I won't eat while I work unless I'm seriously…
  • 'Clean' is a pointless buzz word, food is food. Eat or drink your protein, it's all down to personal preference. Time and money plays a massive part for me when I'm consuming 183+grams of protein a day.
  • I use a lot of Jym products BUT the protein mix, although quality is massively expensive.
  • No...that's disgusting. MyProtein do a range of calorie free flavour drops that can use to flavour your protein shake.
  • Quality of protein vs cost per serving, the best I've found (and rated as such on Labdoor) is MyProtein Whey Isolate (unflavoured, flavouring taints powders with carbs). https://labdoor.com/rankings/protein
  • Can't help you with this, as I'm from the UK I actually had to look up what an 'eye of round' was. It's a beef silverside cut here.
  • Tried a few but now settled on MyProtein brand. I use a Micellar Casein first thing in the morning and last thing at night and probably one, maybe two shakes during the day sending on my protein intake for the day and they are typically either whey isolate or whey concentrate. As a bonus MyProtein is the top rated protein…
  • On your back with your legs bent, arms by your side and hands flat on the floor. Crunch up while moving your hands as if trying to touch your heals with head facing straight up at ceiling. Rinse and repeat. Alternatively same technique but with hands on your legs and crunch while pushing your hands up your legs towards…
