I have the same issues, though no hives. Body aches, chills, and memory loss. Honestly, sometimes it is worth giving up certain foods (like protein powders) to get away from them. For me, I replaced protein shakes with almonds, and it works significantly better. One biggie I learned, and the reason I moved away from…

I find it best to trust the pediatrician over the school. I am rapidly reaching a point where I find public school does more harm than good.

Keep a glass (or mug, in my case) of water on hand at all times. You will find you drink it without thinking about it. Hospital mugs are great, since they have the ounces of water measured on the side of the mug.

Fibromyalgia. Gained 30 pounds in about 2 months.

I don't tan, I burn, so its a Nay for me. To the one who asked about it helping with calorie limits: Its another way to get vitamin D, particularly in the gloomier months of the year. You could get the same energy boost from a Vitamin D supplement or, my personal favorite, full spectrum lightbulbs in your home.

See's Candies.... I swear I was only going to eat one... now, well, I suppose I can work out for an extra couple of hours!

Men can only handle thinking about one thing at a time. For some, its sex. For other's, its companionship. Just make what you are looking for very clear from the beginning. If it is different than what the guy is looking for then he won't stick around for long. And remember, he may want it, but that doesn't mean you owe it…

Go exercise, then treat yourself to a slice of whole grain bread and some protein (peanut butter, meat, etc). A little does not hurt, just remember that those calories either have to be exercised off or they are replacing something healthier for you.

Admiral Thrawn. Lawful evil is the only way to go when the galaxy is run by an evil Empire. Movies though... uh, I'll go with Yoda, also because I would love to live for hundreds of years and be capable of defeating someone three times my size in a lightsaber duel.

I have watched 3 different friends try the juicing diet. All 3 quit after about a week, each looked pale and unhealthy and they all were constantly hungry. This is friends who were using recipes to make sure they were getting enough nutrients. I suggest a moderation diet instead. Eat things in moderation, watch your…

I avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup, MSG, or artificial sweeteners (splenda, and it's siblings). I have fibromyalgia and have found those things cause me grief. Otherwise, I eat what I want in reasonable portions.

I prefer honest, polite doctors who tell me the truth. There is a big difference between "sugar coating" and "being blunt", in my opinion. A good doctor can tell the honest truth without being hurtful or smacking the patient upside the head (metaphorically). For example, my doctor looked at my weight and said "It looks…

I have fibromyalgia. Artificial sweeteners cause me to have fibromyalgia "attacks". Basically, I lose all of my energy and start to hurt (where varies). I personally find that the way artificial sweeteners combine with my body is negative.

1 ounce of dark chocolate can (theoretically) be healthy. Something about antioxidents. Just do things in moderation. My rule of thumb is to only eat dark chocolate, no chocolate with high fructose corn syrup, and to limit the chocolate amount to one piece, bar, stick, whatever. Don't just sit and snack on it, be mindful…

My weight has been doing the same thing, but I am steadily losing inches. People have been commenting that I look thinner, etc. If you have been awhile without physical activity you may need to put on muscle before the weight starts dropping. Remember, muscles weighs more than fat. Always have some sort of protein with…

Use pepper, rosemary, and other seasonings when cooking. You can still have great taste without a lot of salt. Switch from bouillion to stock, when it comes to making soups and broths. Stock (beef, chicken, vegetable) can be bought at local grocery stores or can be made from leftover meat. Avoid processed foods. Those…

I have the same problem, also started after my child was born. I have found Yin Yoga (Ying Yoga with Mimi Soltaire) is extremely gentle and a good routine. Yin yoga is about holding the stretch over an extended period of time, rather than moving through poses quickly. The majority of Yin Yoga is done laying down or sitting…

ILookthetype stated my perspective on this pretty clearly. I am one of those who has a hard time eating 1200 calories per day and an even harder time eating calories I exercise away. Prior to having my son I didn't eat enough. I was on migraine medication that suppresses appetite and literally had reminders on my phone for…

I am 5'4' and am set at 1250 per day. I am struggling to eat that much, so eating any extra I work off is not even in question for me yet. I am much more aware of exactly what I am eating now. I did not realize just how little it was. Too busy to slow down and eat, I guess. If anyone has tips, I would appreciate them.
