Also. Losing 90 lbs in 7 months is pretty fast. We’re your calories too low, setting you up for cravings and binging? Fast weight loss usually means loss of muscle mass. When you gain weight back rapidly it’s mostly fat. Find a strength program and do it, follow a reasonable deficit eating plan and succeed. If you want to…

also, it has only been 3 weeks. Patience, grasshopper :) *edited to say, OP and several others replied while I was typing. Sorry for saying what was already said!

Initial weight loss is water weight, then weight loss slows down. With so little to lose you probably should aim for 1/2 lb a week. 2 lb a week is appropriate if you have a lot to lose--you don't. When you lost weight previously did you lose very quickly? Eat a very low calorie diet? Slow and steady is the way to go to…

You do look great, @MrsBeccaM5 !

I'd say your scale is closer. If you build muscle your body fat percentage will go down. I'm also 5' 2" and in my profile I'm at about 20-21%, per bodpod test. Recomp should work very well for you at your current weight.

Spaghetti squash is a great base for sauce, too

lifting is pretty much all I do. I follow established programs like Stronglifts 5x5 and PHUL (Intermediate program). Right now I am doing a 3 day upper/lower split routine and glutes and ab accessory days in between.

Aadam Ali has been a guest on the Shredded By Science podcast. That's where I first heard about him. SBS does not promote woo or Broscience so their recommendations are good enough for me. I had not been to Aadam's site yet, though. Thanks for the reminder, OP.

Attractive to whom? It's so subjective. I'm 48 and I feel more attractive now than I did at 28. But, I'm far more comfortable in my skin now than I was then. Attractiveness, to me, is more than just skin deep. And that was true for me as a younger woman, too. I didn't date much then because I just didn't meet anyone who…

Neither, since I now have had Neil's Donuts in Wallingford, CT. Insanely good.

Aw, thank you!

Ha, well, she hikes on her own now, thankfully. She climbed a pretty high peak with us on Sunday. A friend gave me a Kelty carrier/backpack. I remember she used to fall asleep in it :)
-
I used a backpack for hiking, too. But, my kid is now almost 6 and weighs 37lbs.

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law do bouldering in AZ and go to a climbing gym. My SIL is ripped! She is 40 & 5' tall and looks like an Olympic swimmer or gymnast.

I'm late 25 days. I've had terrible mood swings, anger, feeling blah for months. I wonder if I've been dealing with peri symptoms for some time. I haven't felt right for some time. I've had severe anixiety episodes lasting weeks in my 30s and in my 40s. At what point do doctors think of HRT? I'm already taking sertraline…

I just got back from vacation visiting my brother/sister-in-law in Flagstaff AZ. They are rock climbers; bouldering, mostly. It's bodyweight lifting but it's hard because gravity. My sister-in-law is 40, 5' tall and ripped beyond belief. it was humbling to spend time with them hiking, climbing, creek swimming.

Kidney infection is serious. Recover first. Rest, your body needs it. I had a kidney infection years ago and it was scary. Build your strength up slowly. Short walks work.

I use JEFIT

I only get hot flashes for about a week during the month-when I would normally have TOM. Anyone else get this? Last month I just thought I'd feel super hot & sweaty all the time but it stopped. And then, started up again yesterday.

I lift at home but I bought a used power cage with bench, bar & free weights. I got some dumbbells & bands, too. It's really all I need. You could do a lot with adjustable DBs

I stopped cutting when my upper body got a bit scrawny looking. I should have stopped before that but I didn't realize I'd lost so much fat there. I didn't need to build my glutes but I did want some definition to my legs. When I went to maintenance I started to see leg definition. I got to about 19-20% body fat and was…

Are you standing & walking on concrete mostly? I have a house with a concrete slab floor and my feet hurt a lot if I wear unsupportive shoes. Are you wearing shoes with good support?

Too old to be hot? Says who? I'm 48 & feel pretty hot, lol. But, I know what you mean. Here is my before/after. Before is months after my baby was born. I was 42. After is last year, at 47.

You can do it! Even though I had a flat stomach before pregnancy I always carried more fat on hips/glutes. Through keeping a deficit and following a progressive lifting program I lost inches off my lower body. Hard work does pay off!
-
<--my stomach after having VBAC at 42, now I'm 48. Everyone is different and I think it depends a lot on if your stomach was flat before pregnancy. Mine was and it took work but is again.

I'm 48 and about 1.5 yrs ago I went from 137 to 116. I'm at 120, now. Also 5' 2.5". I do weightlifting, primarily. I did StrongLifts first, which is 3x week. Aim for .5 lb week loss, hit your protein macro & do cardio that you enjoy. I did walking & hiking, mostly. Good luck!

My "best weight " is 120 lbs, give or take a couple. Last year I got down to 114 lb and was prolly under 20%. It was cool to achieve that level of leanness. Especially since I am 48 & 5'3. I was fascinated at how my skin felt as thin as paper because I'd lost so much fat on my abs. But, it was not realistic long term. Any…

I eat a protein bar (Kirkland) every day, practically. It's a scheduled snack so it fits into my calorie goal and macros. If I was eating them and not counting the calories and likely going over my goal I'd gain weight. Protein bars can be part of a weight loss diet as long as you are in a calorie deficit,
