Sorry you are feeling so frustrated. I agree with what another said, if you enjoy running, run. If you like to walk, walk. I feel like there is a lot of confusing info out there too and i think some very well meaning people give some of us who are just trying to be healthy too much info lol. I love to run and won't stop…

I would book a session with a trainer. Most gyms offer at least an introduction to the weight machines and such for members. They can show you what to do and how to use the equipment properly. I began lifting weights in college and it has made a huge difference in not only in my body shape, but also in injury healing and…

Hi-For years, I was a huge diet soda addict. I rarely drank water even though I am very active. About a month ago I read a book about clean eating and it talked about how more water was one of the best changes you could make for your health. I started drinking about half a liter with each meal and sipping on a water bottle…

I can't remember the exact calories for nursing (I nursed 2 of my 3 babies), but I remember trying to eat an extra snack or two (or three :)) at least each day. Most advice I received was that as long as your milk supply is ok, you don't need to worry about how many extra calories. Drink lots of water and eat lots of…

I am 5'8" and have been anywhere between 140 and 170. I feel at this point (age 31 and 3 children later), I look best between 140-145. Right now I'm at 143.5, I feel really good at this weight! Before I had children, especially in college when I played soccer, I maintained a weight of between 155-160 and looked really…

Hi-I feel for you. I work full time, take graduate courses at night, and have three children. I work as a special ed teacher, so I frequently have work to bring home at night and on the weekends. It is scary when you have so many things going on and the temptation to grab junk food just to survive are really high. I have…

I agree with all of the above. You are probably bloated from bad food, hanging onto water weight becuase of sodium. Now is the time to deal with it. Don't keep up the binge or it won't come off. I bet you will easily drop a few pounds if you eat well the next few days!

I love new York and Co jeans. They have lots of different fits and also lengths. Also, I have found nice jeans at Kohl's and even Walmart for transitional. I have three kids so i remember that transitional phase. Just keep eating well, working out, and dressing nice while you drop :)

I love short hair but I can't pull it off. My face is way too round for anything above my shoulders. Plus, my hair is wavy so it frizzes really bad when it is short. I envy girls that can wear it and look good!

I'm the same way. No matter how much I lose I always feel like I'm the big girl. Have always felt that way about myself so I don't know exactly what to do. The only thing that helps me is when I look @ the #, measurements, pant size and other solid measures then I know there is a change even if I don't see it. You look…

Hi-when I had almost 30lbs to lose I was losing about 1.5 lbs per week but once I got within 10lbs of my goal I only dropped about .5 lb per week.I think that's good because I hope it will help me maintain. I even had some 0 weight loss weeks which is ok. I only have .4 left to lose but I have a feeling it will take…

I work out at night and have for most of my adult life. As long as it doens't mess up your sleep you are fine. I do everything from running to lifting weights as late as 9:00. It keeps me in shape :) Better than not working out at all!

It could be a lot of different things including dehydration, hunger, too much food before running, etc. Can you run at all? I would suggest drinking water throughout the day and eating a light snack before you run. I would also run as far as you can until you get a cramp, then stop, walk until it goes away and run again. I…

I am so sorry for your heartbreak. It is so hard to not turn to food when you are heartbroken. Don't be too hard on yourself for turning to food first. There are lots of low fat ice creams out there and I love to make homemade breads using applesauce. They have the taste of something decadent, but they are not bad for you…

I have a younger sister too. She has always been the cute one. I had my first baby at 23 and resigned from my job. I am fit, but she is really thin and fit. But ya know what, she is my sister and my best friend. I want her to have all the success in the world. We trained for our first half marathon together and we were…

I try to stick with an even amount of calories for all of my meals and snacks. That makes it much easier to stick to my limit.

It is tough. I work full time as a special ed teacher so I work all day and then bring stuff home plus my kids and their activities and hubby. Whew-exhausting. Just take time for you-I always remember how good I feel when I take care of me. If I'm not able to take care of me, I'm not nearly as good at taking care of…

Ive lost over 24lbs without one. I've found the estimates on here are pretty good. YOur body will tell you what kind of workout you've had.. Good luck!

I still carry around my 38lb 3yr old!! Great news:-)

I would try to both. The cardio definitely burns calories, but so does having more muscle, plus the weight lifting really sculpts your body. I have been lifting solid for about 5 weeks and I feel like my body looks so much thinner. Just what is working for me. You may not burn quite as many calories weight lifting, but I…

I've run 2 half marathons & 1 full and it isn't necessary to run the full distance. With what you are running, you are more than ready. When I train for a half, I never go above 10miles. Just stay hydrated & find out which gelsyou are going to use and you'll do great! Good luck and congrats. It is an awesome feeling to run…

I only "officially" weigh in once a week, usually Wednesday or Thursday first thing in the morning, with no clothes. I will also step on once in between my weigh ins just to see how I'm doing. I have found that helps me stay on track. Good luck with your weight loss!!

Wow!!! Great job!!!! You look amazing :)

I had the same problem. Here's what I did. For a month, watch what you eat very carefully and do very little exercise (occasional walks, etc.) Once you have your eating under control & are losing weight, slowly add in some workouts. I found this made it easy to lose weight b/c by the time I added in exercise I was used to…

Definitely diet. I actually gain weight if I exercise too much but don't eat well. I tend to get a little carried away. Plus sometimes I eat a lot planning on working it off later but I skip a workout & I gain. I would say concentrate on diet only for a month or so and then begin adding workouts like walking for another…

That's great!! I've done stuff like that b/4. Yummy, homemade jam is the best!!

Can he ride a scooter? I take my 3 kids on 40minute walks with them on their scooters and me walking (my kids are 7, , & 3). They love to ride and b/c they go pretty fast I'm getting a good workout.

Welcome!! This site has helped me drop almost 20lbs! Go to myhome and the goals and you can use the guided goals and it will give you calories based on your activity levels and how much you want to drop per week. I've always used their guidelines and it seems to work well. Good luck and this is a great place!

That sound good! Haven't tried IHOP yet, but I went to a Denny's in NJ a few weeks ago and they had a healthy menu that was really, really good!! I also try to check restauraunt websites b/c sometimes they have foods that are lower in calories even if they aren't on the healthy menu.
