  • I have been maintaining a 20+(depending on the day :) weight loss for almost 4 years. I don't know that it ever gets easy, but I think the more you strive to find ways to be healthier it makes it easier to maintain. I'm always looking for new recipes and trying to develop/maintain good habits like taking my lunch bringing…
  • Wow!!! Just keep doing what you are doing :) maybe see if you can find some yummy recipes thay replicate favorite foods. We make an awesome and healthy homemade pizza and tasty and health breakfast sandwiches too. Good luck and keep up the amazing work! Can't wait to see you accomplish your goals
  • I love breakfast! We male egg sandwiches using egg whites sautéed veggies a tomato slice and a cheese slice and either hot sauce or mustard. Put it on an ezekiel bread English muffin and it is sooo good. We also make breakfast burritos using potaotes, eggs, sautéed veggies. We put them in microwaveable bowls and we can eat…
  • I love breakfast!!! We make breakfast burritos (whole wheat tortilla filled with scrambled egg/egg whites, cheese, veggies, hot sauce, and pan fried potatoes - make it at night and heat in the am (. It is very filling. We also make our own homemade breads and muffins. Yogurt with nuts is a good choice as well. I find if I…
  • Hi, I'm 5'8 and started at about 170 and got down to 145. I've been maintaining my weight for almost three years between 145 and 150. I've gone from more of a 10-12 to an 8-10, but it honeslty depends on the clothing style/fabrics, etc. Sometimes I can squeeze lower, sometimes a 10 fits better. I was looking of pictures of…
  • I have three children work full time and go to grad school. I have found working out either early before they are up or at night once they have gone to bed works best. Find a time that works for you and stick to it just like you would an appointment.
  • Depends on your motivation level, what you enjoy (classes or solo), time, etc. When my kids were really little I loved the social environment of a class and it really motivated me and helped get me in great shape. At this point in my life, I enjoy working out alone, so I do my workouts at home. I agree that it is an…
  • I would talk with your mom about the healthy changes you are making in your life. I would approach it as a way for you to feel healthier, etc. rather than as a way to lose weight. She's your mom and I'm sure is very worried you will take it too far (I'm a mom but I've also ben in your situation). Good luck to you and I…
  • I'm hus like you! Especially if I run or cycle. Two things have helped me get a handle on it: 1) lots and lots of water 2) I plan into my day to eat a snack after my workiut (I always go at night -just my life) . Ive found oatmeal with a handful of almonds and a little honey really satisfy!
  • You are like me. I lose during the summer too, but instead of trying to lose a lot during the school year, I focus on maintaining my weight. Lost 20lbs last summer, maintained it all year and now have lost the last 10lbs. Eating out is a tough one for us during the school year (our kids are 8,6, &4). I have found that…
  • 1)-drink lots of water 2)stay at or around your recommended. Calories per day.(I just use mfps recommendations) 3)eat mostly real foods (as opposed to packaged foods with tons of ingredients) 4)move your body-find what you like to do and do it 5)limit sugar 6)save room for treats but try to find healthier versions and use…
  • Love this!!! My thoughts exactly. it is about the muscles. My husband is the same way as yours with the training. I'd take him any day over someone taller. believe me, he loves it when I wear the heels and am a little taller. He thinks it is sexy to walk around with a taller girl!
  • It isn't I like guys that aren't too tall. I'm 5'8" and my husband is maybe 5'8.5" I think shorter 5'7"-5'10" and muscular is the sexiest.
  • :) that's muscle forming. Soon you'll start to see lines on the sides too!!
  • I lift pretty heavy (for me anyways :)) and I do not have bulky arms. They actually just look very thin unless I am carrying something. What does look awesome is when I am wearing a sleveless shirt or dress I don't have the flab of a lot of women. Plus, it feels nice to be able to pick up heavy things without help!
  • Congratulations, you look great. I began eating clean 6 weeks ago and dropped 8 lbs so far. I never thought I could lose those last 10 but now I'm only two away. Clean eating has really madea huge difference for me. I've also got my husband and kids in on the act and they are feeling great too! Congrats again and thanks…
  • You ladies (and the guy who responded) rock! I have worked so hard to get my body in shape after 3 babies but I too was a little self-conscious about some of the stretch marks from pregnancy. I'm going to the beach in a few weeks and ya know what, I am going to rock that bikini!!!!!
  • I cut coke zero (my love) out of my diet about 6 weeks ago. I went cold turkey but the key for my success was drinking tons of water. Honestly after about a week I did not crave it at all and have not had one since. I feel solo much better. I used to drink coke zeros all day-from the time I got up until bedtime. Drink tons…
  • I'm very blessed with support. I do the meal planning, lunch packing most of the time, etc. My family has been great, not complaining about me taking certain foods out of the house, or trying new things. My husband tries hard and eats pretty much what I eat. my kids are great-they were even happy to be my "test monkeys" as…
  • I'm not a dietician so I won't go into all that but, I will share my experience. I used to have horrible stomach problems while drinking a lot of diet soda. I switched to water about 5 weeks ago and I feel so much better. I really think the chemicals and artificial sweeteners had a bad effect on my body. I lost plenty of…
  • I've been eating clean for about 5 weeks and have dropped 5 lbs. I love oatmeal, plain non-fat greek yogurt, eggs, all natural peanut butter, and all kinds of fruits and veggies. I have found some great websites that have wonderful recipes- cleaneatingmagazine.com is a good one and their magazine has great recipes yum!…
  • Thanks. You'll get there. It just tales time. I didn't think it was possible for me to lose my last 10-glad to see I was wrong!
  • When I began seriously last year, the first week I lost nothing and then the next week only about half a pound. After that my weight loss really took off. Be patient!
  • I lost 20 lbs and maintained it for about 8 months but could not lose anymore. I recommitted myself to my health I cut. Out all diet sodas, artificial sweetener, refined flour&sugar, and processed foods. In about 6 weeks I jvae lost 8 lbs and am about 4 lbs away from my goal. I have found that the more weight I lose the…
  • Wohoo!!! Way to go. I'm a runner trying to get my distance up after a serious back injury. Thanks for the inspiration.
  • Vacations can be tough but you can do it. 1-I don't try to lose on vacation. If I can maintain I'm happy. 2-make good meal choices. You don't have to ne perfect but Hawaii has lots of delicious fruit & seafood to try. If you are at a restaurant only eat about half of the meal. 3-be active. Go for lots of walks and…
  • I had really great success w/weight watchers after my first child. I used the system on my own after my other two children. It is like anything else-if you commit to what you are doing and work hard to male healthy and balanced food choices you will do well. On MFP you could eat all junk and be around your calories and not…
  • I like their summer salad if they still have it. They also have some good soups I get the soup w/ half a baguette and an apple. Love love their smoothies too.
  • I love Ezekiel bread. I don't believe in giving things up forever. Anything I cant maintain for the rest of my life wont work. I eat clean for he most part (no sugar white flour or processed foods) if you aren't ready for Ezekiel bread (it is good-but definitely different) try different types of whole grain breads until…
