  • Hurt my foot this week (not as bad as yours....no crutches were pulled out) and I didn't do much working out because I wanted it to heal before my 5k today. I was surprised how well I did and that I lost over 3lbs this week by sitting on my backside! Did decent on the 5k, wish I could have done better...and I have the limp…
  • *usually* I don't count that kind of activity, but if it's prolonged I will. I was at the fair for 4.5 hours last week and counted 2 hours of 2mph walking...since I didn't continually walk the whole time (as I'm sure you didn't-trying on clothes or what not).
  • hydrated chia seeds-used this last time I made zucchini bread.
  • :D You are awesome. Here's one I really like that I read recently. (posted *cough* by you)..... "The secret of change is to focus all your energy NOT on fighting the old, but on building the new! Think positive. :) " :flowerforyou:
  • Good reminder. I don't shy away from the camera because I don't like the way I look, I just don't think about it a lot. But...that being said...I always regret that my wedding pictures will show a larger-than-I'd-like version of me. But being overweight has been part of my life, it's a fact. And I wouldn't trade in my…
  • Having your own opinion = human mocking someone elses = troll Just in case we were having difficulty understanding the difference (I tried to be respectful in my post, it's not like I called those flaunting their bodies nasty names, just didn't approve of the method)
  • Wow...exit OP, enter trolls. Have a nice day.
  • Why don't I see a rolling eye smiley? This is much needed.
  • Oh heck....can't I still support you guys, even if I'm not a drinker?
  • I think in an odd way, it's sometimes really their compliment to an awkward subject. Saying someone lost weight means they were unhealthy and obese... And I think we're maybe too sensitive sometimes. It reminds me of a friend who got so mad when people told her during her first pregnancy that she didn't look very far…
  • Never had a sip of alcohol in the almost 29 years of my life....and never will. I'll join ;)
  • It's the only way I've ever lost weight. After a long time, maybe when I hit my goal, I will have calorie rainman skills and will be able to look at a dish and know how many calories are there and if I'm good.....but for now, I track :)
  • I believe faith plays a role, but I have seen these threads get offensive and shot down. Get ready to be mocked.
  • got a box of cookies on an impulse buy (made sure to leave calories)...they came 3 to a pack...serving size was 2 of the 3...
  • I don't think it's "body shaming" to find it weird. First of all....gym showers creep me out with germs---who knows how well the last person wiped and now they're sitting on your bench naked for the next 10 minutes....and the person before that probably had athlete's foot on that bench... And I think modesty is not out of…
  • I agree to only weighing in the morning! It's like being on a 2 day road trip and asking every 5 minutes "are we there yet?".....it just makes it a LOOOOOOOOONGER trip.
  • Just tried the mini lasagna in muffin pans.....delish!!! about 225ish calories per mini lasagna. And a few wrappers left for cream cheese and jalapeno bites :)
  • Forgot to mention-I've only really tried it on cream cheese with crackers before but I loved it when I tried it at a potluck.
  • I didn't taste the jalapenos before adding them, here's the recipe we followed: http://www.food.com/recipe/jalapeno-lime-garlic-jelly-387642 We did less garlic and a little more jalapenos/limes. We tasted it last night after we made it but it had cooled to room temperature and this afternoon after it had been chilled…
  • I don't know what all of your extra curricular activities are, but I know I was pretty sedentary. Make sure you're up and doing stuff. Burn calories instead of spending too much time on facebook ;)
  • Don't remember the drug that I tried that really worked for me but I suppose that it was helpful for weight loss too....because the nausea was so bad the first couple weeks that I didn't eat much...lol
  • There is a balance, that's for sure. I always felt guilty knowing that I'm not treating this body that I was given with the respect it deserves. Once a month, we do a 24 hour fast and it can be hard to not eat or drink for that time period, but you really do feel the spirit when you remember that our spirit is stronger…
  • ok, so the lasagna recipe had my heart for a minute.... and then I read this. I've had fun before making "mystery pockets" with misc fillings, never used the wonton skins though, I am totally going to! It's fun not knowing if you're going to be eating bbq chicken and spinach artichoke filled goodness or 3 pb&j ones in a…
  • I just wonder how it would be any different...we used 1 lb of jalapenos (estimating about 4 cups!) and 2 c vinegar....that recipe has only 1/4 c hot pepper (1 c total peppers) and 1.5 c vinegar...and you didn't taste tons of vinegar?
  • mmm, some delicious ideas!
  • I was thinking of doing that for my b-day too :) And maybe a smidge bit of chocolate on the side....but there's no reason to have a whole cake in the house with just 2 of us. We were eating my husband's for days when I made him one.
  • It's hard to say why I finally made the plunge. I didn't even get this serious about weight loss for my wedding (granted I was working a job from hades back then...) Honestly, my brother had told my mom he's help her lose weight and I mentioned that I need to. He re-invited me to MFP and I was hooked. A couple days later…
  • I wasn't weighing myself when I was on BC so I don't know if I gained weight. BUT, I know I was a beast! I was soooooo moody....and that usually contributes to unhealthy eating...
  • I agree with magerum. You don't have to eat celergy for all of your meals. find the lite or low fat versions of what you like and work on portion control. If you eat a smaller lunch (and healthier), you'll have room for some junk food. I ate half a box of cheeseburger mac last night....over 1,000 calories...but because I…
