You can DEFINITELY gain weight (water weight) from starting a new exercise program. You'll have to play around with calories to see what works for your body. It seems weird it would take a year to effect your weight? Are you sure it's not something else? I've been on every birth control under the sun and have never gained (or lost) weight (unless of course I was eating more or less).
