It's remarkable. I just chugged some whey with coconut milk because I knew I'd need it in a few hours. I'm so excited about this new lifestyle - it's gonna be stellar!

Re: #2 - ZOMG yes. My lower abs are tender as hell as well as muscles in my backside I wasn't previously aware of. And my armpits - dude. O_O I find I do better if I keep moving. When I sit down, that's when I get into trouble. Not a good time to have a desk job. ;)

Physician, heal thyself!

That sounds fantastically more efficient. Although with the crossfit, I've noticed if I don't get food in me by 11am I'm ready to eat my keyboard. Interesting shift, to go from thinking food = fat to food = fuel. *mind blown*

Thanks all! I have a supply of ON Whey at work, as well as keeping a stock of grilled chicken and cottage cheese at work. That meatloaf in muffin cups? Ok, that's just brilliant.

Last night I completed my first on-ramp. Sore as hell today but I can already tell I'm going to LOVE it. =)
-
Actually I just discovered MapMyWalk ports Crossfit workouts into MFP - win!
-
First on-ramp session was a success! I'm a bit sore this morning but was still able to walk my 4 miles to work at my usual pace. Looking forward to Wednesday! Question: How do you all log your Crossfit workouts in MFP?
-
Excellent - thanks!
-
Thanks everyone! Definitely looking forward to next Monday. They have me on a Mon/Wed schedule for on-ramp, and then I get to decide the frequency afterwards. 3x/week sounds reasonable. Question - the boy and I are going to be in Florida for 2.5 weeks for Christmas; is it possible to be a "guest" at a box if you're…

That's exactly what I'm looking for. And I need to up the challenge on my bodyweight squats...looking forward to having access to weights to start really leveling up on my squats.

I'm in Seattle. A good friend of mine is a Crossfit coach and highly recommends the box that I'm visiting today. I've been doing cardio and lifting on my own since July, and whereas I'm seeing results, I know I can accomplish much more with guidance and teamwork. People that I know that do Crossfit swear by it, and whereas…

Thanks! I did a lot of research before picking a box; we're really lucky in Seattle because there are almost as many boxes as Starbucks. =) I'm starting the On Ramp on 12/1. Very excited!

Harney and Son's Hot Cinnamon Spice. Naturally sweetened with clove and the cinnamon is amazing. Every time I make it at work someone inevitably pops by my desk and asks for a bag. =) Smells like the holidays...

This is sweet - I'll sign up for this...

Ha! Awesome.

Putting jeans on *is* a workout.

Anything will make you gain weight if you eat enough of it. I know, math is hard...
-
Of course they would. I'm awesome. (This should be everyone's answer, by the way...)

Triple grande skinny hazelnut latte. Drinking one right now, actually...only 120 calories so I don't feel like it's an "indulgence". Looking forward to the return of the peppermint mocha; it's the only time of year I can get sugar free peppermint syrup in my latte. =)

I make my own definitions. I walk about 8 miles a day, up and down Seattle city streets, plus weights. I put "very active". These standards are set by the same people who think BMI is based solely on height/weight ratios. Which means the entire NBA is obese. Pfft.

678 pages? Whoah...

Retired military, loves hockey (wild guess!) and his kids look awesome in hockey jerseys.

The person above me in my condo building? Well, never met 'em, sooo... ;)

I'm using dumbells for my squats because I don't (yet) have access to the bar. My boyfriend is a powerlifter and some of the women he lifts with can squat over 350lbs (so awesome). I'm getting ready to join a gym with the proper equipment and a trainer to help me with my lifting. I'd never try the bar without guidance and…

I altered my commute so I walk 1.8 miles to the bus, then another 1.5 miles to the office. Then repeat at the end of the day. Combining that with weightlifting and clean eating I'm down 25 lbs since August. Walking is awesosme. =)

I find that some whey protein (Optimum Nutrition is my favorite) with some frozen strawberries and a banana is the perfect meal replacement - plenty of calories, protein, nutrients, and it tastes amazing. I use them in the morning when I'm running low on time and after lifting to aid in recovery. Awesome stuff.

To gain strength, be healthy and ensure that I stay that way in my later years. I don't want to be one of those hunched over old women shuffling their way through the grocery store.

I know the anti-artificial-sweetener camp will pounce on this, but I usually use a dash of Mio (orange or lemon) or, after lifting/cardio, I use Nuun (it's high in electrolytes so I don't drink it throughout the day. I have a 40-oz insulated water bottle I usually empty 2-3 times a day, and I find just having a half of a…

I have a Keurig, at home and at work...no cream, just a few drops of liquid stevia (thank you Trader Joe's). Repeat as needed. ;)
