Oh dear, this has really gotten into some interesting debate topics today. Pass the popcorn. Also LOL and some of the nonsensical posts.

I don't even track sugar. I track carbohydrates (which includes sugar) along with the other macros, and of course calories. I agree that "too much" is a relative term, even for fruit. But if you are eating an overall well-balanced diet and aren't exceeding your calorie needs, I wouldn't worry.

I know you're not the only one discussing "the stuff in aspartame" but quoting you anyway  Aspartame is a single ingredient. It's a compound. The only "stuff" in aspartame is elements. It is C14H18N2O5. It's formed by chemically binding two other compounds (which happen to be called amino acids), aspartic acid and…

5 pages and nearly 24 hours, and OP hasn't clarified about the overall calorie (for the day? or just up until point of posting?) I'm curious about that. As far as carbs, 70% plus seems high, even for me (a carb-lover) but there are people who do fine on 80/10/10 (C/F/P). So, if it works for you, there's nothing wrong with…

Gold's Gym, $80 a month for family membership My husband, our daughter and two sons, and I can all workout there. Plus, the two littlest ones can use the day care (2 hours max). All of it is included in the fee. We have access to all the classes and everything. I generally go 2-3 times a week with one son, and take the…

Target had a sale on Talenti last week, and since they had flavors I haven't seen elsewhere, I got a few. Carmel Apple Pie -- this sounded like an odd flavor, but I really enjoyed it. Raspberry Cheesecake - I was disappointed. It was good, but I expected something more. Maybe a richer cheesecake flavor. It was a bit tart…

If I understand correctly, the body will use whatever calories are available from eaten foods first. When it runs out of those, it turns to fat stores. That's why you want to be at an overall deficit (which the 1200 calories plus 175 from exercise does for you). As far as what kind of foods the calories came from, the body…

Mmmm ... I'm visualizing a salad with spinach, strawberries, grilled chicken, cashews, maybe apples and cheese, and some delicious poppy seed dressing. Maybe try adding in a bit of spring mix, too. Do you like mushrooms? That would be a great addition. You can get pretty creative within those foods you listed, and maybe…

So, OP asks for info on a diet, and almost everyone says it's a bad idea. OP listens to the one poster who says go for it. Sounds about standard. Well, best of luck to ya.

I wouldn't recommend it. Fruit is not going to provide all the nutrient you need (fat? protein? B12? iron?) It's also entirely possible to eat more calories that you use, even on fruit. Why not use this system as intended? With less than 50 pounds to lose, you can aim for 1 pound a week. Eat a variety of fruits and…

Might work for some. Or if I'm just buying 1 or 2 things. But I generally shop once a week for a large family. No way am I carrying all that home!

^ that, or possibly circuit training.

This makes a lot of sense. In fact, I've started doing a few accessory lifts along with the big ones and quickly discovered that a lower weight with more reps (around 10) was better for those. And my big lifts are progressing nicely as I do it.

My daughter and I might be doing Joy and Sadness from Inside Out. But I'm still going to lurk here for ideas. I need cosplay ideas, really :naughty:

LOLs!

The only way that no eating after a certain time has helped me is when I've already had enough calories and shouldn't eat anyway. (I was in a challenge and getting points for no food after 9pm, so it was that extra incentive). But really, I should have been stopping with the food once I'd reached my calories, regardless of…

I'm not very familiar with "leaky gut" ... but an allergic reaction is caused by an overreaction of histamines by the immune system. It can be pretty scary, and often doesn't require the allergen even reaching the stomach. It's not something I would suggest experimenting with on your own (without medical guidance). OP, you…

Well, the good news is that you have lost some. At least you're not gaining  Chances are, you're eating more than you think. It doesn't really matter if it's whole foods and 3 meals a day, or a mix of packaged stuff in 6 small meals a day, the number of calories is what matters. Are you properly weighing all of your…

BMR is how much your body uses doing nothing but living. So, if you laid in bed all day, that's how many calories you'd need to eat to maintain your weight. TDEE is your total daily energy expenditure - how many calories you actually use during the day including all your exercise and everything else. TDEE is an average…

Squats, deadlifts, lunges, hip thrusts for a round booty. Chest press, pull-ups or lat pulldown, and OHP for a bit more chest/shoulder ... it won't make your breasts bigger, but can be used to give the impression of a bit more of an hourglass figure. It all depends on your eating, though. Eat at a small deficit (250-500…

I get a bit twitchy about crowding, too. Like the guys doing their curls practically on top of the weight rack ("hey, I need those, can I just maybe sneak past ..."). And people getting too close on the side when I'm doing squats or deadlifts. I have iffy peripheral vision and I always think they're closer than they are,…

Makes more sense, yes. (I've seen enough of your posts to know it was either not serious or mild trolling)

Not sure if he's a caveman or just a troll. LOL

Ask your Doctor for a referral to a Registered Dietician who works with people dealing with chronic illnesses. You will want to make sure you eat foods that will help you fight CFS and anemia as well as the other issues, but at an appropriate calorie level, and a RD is probably the best person to help you with that. Also…

LOL, okay, now that you've sent the invitation!!

And for my pet peeve ... people who don't put away their weights when done. While I am capable of taking the 45s off the bar, that doesn't mean I should have to clean up after you, and no one wants to trip over the random plates or dumbbells you leave lying around.

I dunno ... I kind of feel like there's a double standard here. If a guy is looking good and wearing clothes that show off his muscles, etc, we wouldn't say he's advertising. Many ladies wear form-fitting clothes to workout in for comfort (it's awkward when loose stuff gets caught on a machine, it weights, etc) and because…

So much this!!

I think I agree with just about all of this. I also liked the character development for Donna, but I was very sad when she lost it all in the end. She was becoming pretty brilliant for a while, and sometimes very perceptive, and was exactly what the Doctor needed then.

So, are you saying I should tell my neighbors they should get rid of the trampoline, because they are dangerous? I should step in with a parent at the store who isn't dealing with a toddler's meltdown the same way that I would? Because most people accept that those instances are really none of my business. (And trust me, I…
