* How accurate are these activity trackers? Also how about the cheaper ones - do you think they are just as accurate? Do they work out your calories burned just by looking/measuring your heart rate? TIA :)

I have struggled with this as well. Kids (and sometimes adults) don’t really think about how they can affect you and trigger you with their comments. I have particularly struggled with like you said - if someone gives you a compliment, you just don’t believe them. I stuggle to this day - no matter what someone compliments…

Goal weight is 110 and then maybe if I can gain some muscle I wouldn't mind being a little bit more as long as my body doesn't jingle

Thanks everyone for your answers. I think we should all be allowed to do what we think is right for ourselves. The reason why I asked and choose to log fruit (especially) and veg is that I am not a big person (only 5'3) and I am "normal" weight by BMI definitions. So to lose weight, I am left with not many calories really,…

What I do is weigh each ingredient separately and note it down. Then once the meal is ready, I decide how much to have for each portion and divide it into X amount of portions and then enter it in the recipe builder. Storing the food into separate containers helps me with portion control. It's a bit of a faff the first…

Yes that's exactly what I mean. I don't know which entries to trust on MFP. Especially if one says Apple 100g - 85 cal and another says Apple 100g - 105 calories. I know the green tick means it's not user generated but if there isn't one that has a green tick then you have to pick another one. And as I don't have a huge…

Oh wow thank you very much, everyone for this website, it's very useful. That's exactly what I wanted - one place that I can reffer to. And I know it's a bit of guesswork but I want to guess as best as I can

For me the biggest motivation is looking at photos of myself when I was the weight that I want to be. Also obviously pinterest/instagram/youtube and here - there are tons of success stories that motivate me.

Quick question - isn't BMR - basic metabolic rate which means minimum calories you need to eat per day to survive? So if you take 100 off that, isn't that a bit low? Thanks

Hi everyone I am from the UK - 25yo (almost 26 😭) and I am 5’3. Currently 137 goal weight is 110. It would be interesting to know how many calories is everyone eating/do you do any exercise? Btw I am friend-requesting you all ✌️🤗

-
My advice - make sure you dont eat too many carbs and little/no protein. This was my mistake and I was feeling horrible
-
Not really. For example me and my sister are so so similar in weight/height. When we go for a run together - I sweat like a piggy. My sister - NEVER. I can't even see a single wet spot on her face, while I am almost drowning. And it's not like she is super athletic - she just doesnt sweat! Push yourself to the maximum and…
-
Both - but thats just because I am obsessed :D Example: Rice I will weigh the raw rice and then boil it and weigh it again because I don't believe the back of the pack that says 100g raw rice = 250g cooked or something like that. How can I be sure that the rice will absorb 200g water and not 300? Therefore when I am…

My cousin used to tell me how fat I am every time we went to theirs. Then everyone would agree with their heads ...
-
ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE 38? You look like you are 28!! Honestly!
-
Yes definitely. I don't drink juices but on occasions that I do, I aways add water .. for example to a fresh orange juice I will always add water. It is still yummy and fruity. It cuts the calories by 1/2 !!
-
I usually measure everything before I cook it, but make sure the calories I put reflect the uncooked quantity.
-
Yay. That coffee thing is interesting But yeah, yesterday at night I was 132 and today 137!! So thats a 5pound difference. Its so annoying but I try not to think about it
-
God, it's expensive in the US! Me and my bf spend about £40 a week - that is food, eating/drinking out occasionally + some washing/cosmetics/toiletries ...

Um the dilemma about eating animals is out of the question for me. The dilemma I have is, is it ethically okay to eat even the free range eggs out there :) Plus, I need to take into consideration health as well as ethics
-
Do you really need to pay for this, when you have so many free resources online? Like you can get DVD-like workouts on youtube, which are pretty similar to the ones that you have to pay for. Also with a tool such as myfitnesspal, you don't really need much else to lose weight! I am not saying you shouldn't though - if you…

I am definitely going to be coming to this thread for ideas! I can see a lot of meat however I will try to substitute it with beans/tofu etc. Also I really want to give veganism a try, but I know eggs have so much protein uhh. Dilemma :)
-
I agree 900 is very low but that is BMR not TDEE, right? I can usually maintain 132lbs when eating 1500-1600 cal
-
aethre - Thank you for your reply. It's nice to see people replying in a nice way! I am studying pharmacology at uni and as a part of our practical sessions we got the opportunity to do some tests on ourselves. This included many tests and one was measuring our own BMR. One whole session usually should be looking at a…

I wish, but it is not. According to websites it might be. According to real measurements - it is 883 :( Thanks everyone for posting :)
