Heart rate monitors are good for measuring heart rate believe it or not.

They are both estimates. Go with the lower one and monitor your results. Its possible to spend time on cardio equipment but just go through the motions. Things like watage measurement would give you more chance of figuring out what was going on. How far did you travel in that period? Both MFP estimates and machine readings…

11 pages? Bonkers.

Social thing, so it depends who it is, but tbh im focused on me an I prefer to do what I want, so a buddy would slow me down as you have to wait/ share/ consider them. Not anti social, but its so much more efficient doing it on my own as well as meaning I have choice. My MP3 player is my buddy. For anyone who is at all…

Most of the equipment is matrix at my gym. Concept is the dominant brand, but am sure the matrix is perfectly fine. There are 2 aspects either row for a fixed time, in which case the distance you get during that time will vary or row a fixed distance in which case your times become important. Either is fine. Your first few…

So you finally made it to target with the walking? When did that happen? Gratz.

I think its good you are following your Drs advice and learning about controlling your processed sugar levels especially if you are pre diabetic. At the moment im fine with sugar and you can be perfectly healthy with it, but all things in moderation.
-
But that would be because you were at a deficit as per what thorsmum said.

I get it, but make sure you arent being too aggressive becayse that results in bingers or uneccesary misery. there are plenty of strageues, lost mentioned above, but please dont make it harder for yourself than needs be.

Its most likely a concept2 as they are pretty standard the other possibility is a water rower, with the comfy seat and the swishy water (like the one in House of Cards). I have a couple of nice friendly ergers on my list. Its my main from of cardio and i have gone from couch potato to not a couch potato, so can give you…

Honestly theres no need to feel disheartened or insecure, you need to just be friends with yourself. Losing weight is straightforward, so dont put pressure on yourself and just accpet whats happening. You are going to eat a bit less and move a bit more than you used to. Ideally you will be at a deficit, veayse if you are…

Dont panic, break it down into baby steps and mini diets, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 1lb, 5lb, 10lb. If you do each one of these well then you build and it gives you progress. that encourages you that you cna do it. Keep in mind why you are doing it things that are pushing you and the advantages when you get there. Dont…

If in doubt be conservative so you avoid eating calories you havent bruned and diminishing your deficit. I have read several artileces on pwerplates and am open minded, bit ignoring the ones which are just marketing pitch, then it really depends on what you are doing. Id look at your results, but it doesnt raise your hr…

Its very difficult to estimate and theres not much research. Ive seen estimates at 50cals per hour plus whatever exercise you are doing. Id treat it more like lifting and ignore the calorie burn or just use the equivalent calisthenics. I did look at a few articles but soem I didnt believe and others are just vague.

Pregnancy is different and that wasnt mentioned, but you are mistaken when you say your first has nothing to do with your second becayse you are using i to compare and exert pressure in a way thats unhelpful. Guilt, frustration, fault are no going to help you. Its much better if you take the positive from it and change…

The pressure is self exerted. No need for it. The first one cant have been that great anyway otherwise you wouldnt be doing a second. Learn from it.

This plus what she said earlier about what to eat.

If by your calculation its costing you 175 calories a day for 4.5 days a week, then that would be 40950 calories a year, so 11.7lbs. Youve been on hem for 2 years, so that would be over 20lbs. have you gained 20lbs? Thats far in excess of the 2-4lbs described at the effect of some bb. If you are convinced its an umportnat…

Part of me feels you should just get on with it, you are a young and presumable able bodied man, so theres nothing wrong with you. For weight you need to check your logging and what you eat first. For execisethen think about why you wnat to lose and the advantages it will bring. Are they worth making the effort for? it…

If its kept you out for a year then what does your physio say> i ve had problems twice and my mindset became I am injured do not make it worse and let it get better. If rest hasnt worked for over e year then you need to consult with your Dr and physio as mine just got better from rest. As for the weight, then its more…

Honestly just google sources of protein and you will get a zillion articles. Meat, fish and dairy are my main ones. There are plenty though and things like some veg add up. Energy boosting foods, then I prefer complex carbs for longer sustained energy i.e oatmeal, seeds, some bread. Shorter term energy boosts are more…

Mayo clinic says So ask your Dr for a brand that doesnt have weight gain as a side effect. It doesnt seem to be much anyway and when you come off them it should drop back. Thus thing about hampering your exercise is a bit mystifying. You really think if it slowers your max hr by 10 or even 20 bpm thats going to affect you…
-
Id say only unless it was longer than an hour and then listen to your body. You wnat sufficient fuel available at the right time so complex carbs are fine as long as youve given it time to workthrough in contrast with a banana which takes about 30-40 mins. If I do run out of fuel then I know it, but i will always have…

well i could be boring and say eat it in moderation and fit it into your calorie allowance. Most common if I really felt like it then id have it and if it was over then id exercise the rest of it off. I dont demonise food, just make myself aware that certain foods have more calories, sometimes its good to have a splurge,…

If you are eating at a defict then you wont be building muscle. Its a setback, but of more immediate importance is you looking after yourself for a speedy recover and as pointed out 2 weeks is hardly any time at all. Work with your physio and listen to your body, maybe you cna start walking again , go swimming or do what…

Learn from it, log it, move on, dont fret and be a bit philosophical.
-
Ultimately you have to wnat to do it for yourself. It will burn calories. It will imrpove your fitness. It will get you close to goal. You will feel better about yourself for having just done it instead of fretting about it. Do it dont do it its your choice. You could meet the most handsome man or you could get run over.

Its very dependent upon how much you weigh. 43 seems way too low for 30mins movement even if you are quite light. Check again.

Objective analysis. What are the benchmarks you are comparing yourself against, happiness, BMI, performance, weight? I think you should always be working towards self improvement, but also be aware of keeping it in perspective, being happy and realising there are other things. Like wolfman, then health is something I pay…

I did point that out, but she seems preprogrammed and hears what she wants to. Hence eating at a deficit and gaining. Theres several pcos groups, perhaps she ought to join and listen to them.
