  • They only send out invites in batches, so you may have to wait a little longer than a couple of day. But it isn't a scam! Once you get your invitation, there's a MyFitnessPals group already set up that you can join.
  • Cathe Friedrich (www.cathe.com) has a lot of these. I recommend Muscle Max or Pyramid - Upper Body/Pyramid - Lower Body to start. Her STS series is fantastic--better than P90X, I think--but if you've never done one of her workouts you probably wouldn't want to spend that much money upfront.
  • Honestly, for me, I like to workout while I'm sick because I'm afraid I'll lose momentum if I don't. But I will do something super-short and super-easy--it's more about maintaining a habit than about trying to burn a lot of calories or make a lot of strength gains.
  • Baba ghanouj! Also, I like this recipe for eggplant with zucchini and feta: http://www.aubergines.org/recipes.php?eggplant=1536. But I haven't run it through the recipe builder here so I don't know what its like in terms of calories, fat, protein, etc.
  • Having this problem right now -- I'm going to make some coffee to see if that helps.
  • I buy those big blocks of dark chocolate from Trader Joe's. They have forty squares and each square is around 70 calories. I usually have one square after lunch. It's easy to ration and it's rich enough that it satisfies my cravings.
  • My guess is that the MFP and elliptical machine are both wrong! You might consider investing in a heart rate monitor--that still won't be totally accurate, but it will probably be closer. For me, MFP calorie counts are significantly higher than what my heart rate monitor says. Yes, it is normal for your calorie allotment…
  • Try Cathe Friedrich (www.cathe.com). These are the hardest workout DVDs that I know of--if Intensity doesn't get your heartrate up, nothing will! You do have to have equipment (mostly weights and a step). But it's a one-time investment and it's worth it, to me, not to have to drive to the gym every day.
