  • Thank you for your comment! I am fine with regular weigh ins thankfully. I'm mostly just trying to not beat myself up for overeating and feel like I need to run or exercise or whatever to burn calories. I think I have a hard time determining if I feel fatigued after running because I just ran a whole bunch and I need to…
  • Sorry for the double post -- but so I'm understanding: If my TDEE is 1700 to maintain my weight (which it was when I did my separate calculation), and I burned 544 calories today on a 5 mile run, I could eat half of that back (272) for a total of 1972 calories. This should still give me a little bit of a deficit based on…
  • As a future medical provider, her comments and recommendations to you blow my mind and I would recommend you find a new provider who is going to have your best interests at heart.
  • Hi guys! sorry for the silence on my end. I guess I have been confused about what I should put for my activity level aside from running. When I put in my activity level as sedentary on MFP, it says I need to eat 1270 cals/day to lose a lb a week, which, when I add half of my exercise cals to that, I get to about where I'm…
  • Hi! Another fellow 12 hour - shift person! I’m a CNA and hopefully a PA at some point. Yeah, on days I work I get 12-20k steps in easily. I park away from the hospital so I have a 20 minute walk before and after work. Usually 1 day out of my 3 shifts, I will work out for an hour after work doing some lower impact cardio…
  • Yeah, I have this right now. I'm eating a lot of protein bars and "things I like" that are within my calorie limit but may not be exactly healthy. I have no motivation to eat though I know I should and my stomach growls at me. I get this weird gagging feeling in my throat (very hard to explain) that makes it very hard to…
  • What I would do in a situation like this is weigh out the food prepared as a whole, and calculate a third of the prepared weight and eat that. It would be the easiest way to make sure you're making equal sized portions -- weighing it unprepared with the cheese sauce would be a mess
  • Are you sure the 112g didn't refer to the product unprepared?
  • Hi! I would love to be your friend! I'm looking to lose a bit of vanity weight (~10 lbs) and improve my running. I lost 80 lbs on this website a couple of years ago.
  • Yes, I can relate. I'm a normal weight BMI wise but my tummy and thighs look so large and jiggly. :( I'm working on self-love.
  • I don't have any answers for you, but I'm commenting because I am a CNA as well! Well, I will be (I haven't started my job yet, I have orientation soon). I work rotating shifts, which I'm sure will include plenty of night shifts and I know I will get sleepy and munchie. I would love to benefit from the tips :p
  • Hi! I'm the OP and want to thank all of you guys for your responses! 1. I definitely don't want to force him to do anything. I don't want to be like his past girlfriend (despite having food issues like her), who cut things out of his diet because she couldn't have them, etc. My mom was very interested in my weight growing…
  • Hello! I'm not a nontraditional student, but I'm in this with you. I want to lose 20 lbs by the end of the semester and be able to maintain the loss. I am not new to weight loss - I used to be 215 lbs and now I'm 138. I got down to 120 last year, and I think that was a really good weight for me. I definitely get the…
  • Hi guys! Joining this! My weigh-in this morning waaas ... 138.2 lbs. I'm 5'5" My GW is 125 by October 31, so I have 13 pounds to lose.
  • I've never seen the above video, but after a plateau of my own (and admittedly some slack dieting), I've started measuring, and it has made a world of a difference. I don't feel deprived of those extra calories I was accidentally adding on, either. I highly recommend you weigh your food if you aren't! :)
  • Hi, guys! I'm 21, 5'5", and I've also been overweight for most of my life. The highest weight I got to was 215 lbs in my freshman year of college. I now weigh 135 lbs, and I'd like to lose another 20, but in a more sustainable and healthful way (... no heavy restricting, no b/p). I'd love to add some of you guys! :)
  • I have some merrills I got for sale. Great for running, I run 6 or 7 miles a few times per week and they are still in good shape after about 6 months :)
  • I like the grande skinny peppermint mochas or a grande nonfat cappuccino with cinnamon and splenda. x) I'm a bit of a caffeine addict.
  • The weirdest/worst diet I tried was the Special K diet-thing ... but I was on Pinterest and someone reflagged something that claimed if you had a drink of cinnamon and honey before bed, you'd lose weight. Cracks me up!
  • I'm maintaining, but I am just now getting into it! I'd love to friend people in the same boat :)
  • I would love some new motivation! I'm trying to find a maintenance mode balance, but I think I'm going to be dropping back down because I can feel myself gaining weight, haha ... I'll try again soon; I think I was just being -too- lax about weighing and measuring stuff, probably too soon! I could use the motivation!
  • I've never tried David's tea! But now I might have to ... >:3

  • so I ordered a scale of my own (before I had just been using the gym scale). According to that, I'm 131 lbs and I have 18.3% body fat
  • (though in this picture I am probably ~140? 210ish ---> 135
  • I've been trying to do a little bit better in terms of managing my macros and eating more veggies and whatnot. I don't know my body fat composition, but I would be quite shocked if it is under 10%. I definitely am not overly muscular or anything. I do work out regularly, but I don't think excessively? I wouldn't even call…
  • Woohoo! Thanks for your replies, everyone! MyaPapaya: You're definitely right, I am eating a lot of easy, quick protein bars. I'm a busy college student, and one strapped for cash at that, and I just kind of end up eating them because they are, as you said, EASY. There are days (like today :( ) where I have class from 9-4…
  • I'm 5'5" and 135 pounds, which according to BMI is a perfectly healthy weight (actually on the higher end of the healthy weights for my height).
  • Ok ... I've read somewhere that you should increase your calorie intake gradually. How often and in what kinds of increments do you think? I figure my metabolism might be a little slowed since it is used to a lower calorie intake?
