red wine!!! believe it or not, a glass only has 100 cals.....

I would say that the increase in calories burned aside from regular walking would be negligible (SP?) ....the wheels on the wheelchair do most of the work, try wearing a heart rate monitor and see if it gets your hear rate up beyond normal walking.

I love this story!!!! Nice work, you've earned it!

It has a perfect level of sweetness, I just tried the original, not the vanilla flavor...I will try that one soon! I think I am going to make a banana smoothie out of it now!

If you're losing weight, don't get one. If you're not really losing much weight, then I would suggest it..

Always eat after, when your runs start to get longer, then I would eat something small like a piece of bread with PB about 30 mins prior...

I order the garlic lime shrimp salad...I think that's what it's called. no cheese, dressing on the side, extra lime, no tortilla strips. I don't really use much of the dressing anyway, it is sooooo good!!!

Avocado is one of the most recommended fruits as well as a food for bodybuilding and medicine for cholesterol-related heart diseases. Also, did you know that avocado or an avocado extract is good for prevention or treatment of “breast cancer” as well as “prostate cancer”? Some information states that a toxin found in…

This is in no way meant to be snarky, but how does one know whether or not they are a fast or slow oxidizer? Does a doctor tell you this based on blood sugar? Really curious as I've never heard of this term...just googled fast oxidizer, there are diets that support your oxidation...interesting, will research more...

If you are eating 1200 cals than you are certainly here to lose weight, and that inherently IS a diet. After some careful observation since I've joined WAY back in June 2008, I find that people who have this 1200 calorie issue are generally newer folks...usually 1-3 month members, that was me back then too, I had trouble…

Read my post, never said that...

Like 3/4ths of the jar is full of syrup after I eat the fruit out of it...i'll make a good guess..

I went last summer for a month to Italy, Spain, and Croatia. It was also right in the middle of training for my first marathon, Chicago '09. We backpacked, took flights, and rode trains. Walking everywhere, I didn't gain, in fact I lost. I visited the following in Italy: Rome (twice, our plane arrived and departed here),…

The best pair of jeans my husband ever bought were from Armani Exchange outlet, I think he got them for a great price too....they look really good, and he's husky...so if you're buying 30s, I'm sure they'll look fantastic on you!

I just finished running 4 miles outside, it's 9:30 pm here, i thought my gym was open until 10:30 on Fridays, turns out only until 9. So outside I went. It was a great run! I agree, anytime is a great time to exercise!

I put half and half in my coffee. Three tablespoons=60 calories. I don' t know why more people DONT put half and half in their coffee....it's not that bad! Plus three splenda? Comes out to a mere 75 cals. Once a day? I can afford that! :drinker:

I'm a fan of Hal Higdon's plan. I used it for half marathons and the full.

Bikram is different though. A website I found quoted 955 for 1.5 hours for 140lb. person. I once took my heart rate monitor with me, the above stats are pretty accurate.

Anyone who has ever worked as a teacher in a poor community HAS to see what over processed, hormone pumped food does to a third grader. It may not cause obesity per se, but why do so many poor kids have overdeveloped, on the verge of obese, bodies? It's scary. I'm not insinuating this about any children of posters on this…

I am from the burbs of Chicago. I've been to Cardinal before as a guest. It's a basic gym. I was a member of Bally's when I was in college and after but canceled a few years after I moved out of the city. Now I work out at my park district, Inwood Athletic Center, in Joliet. Cardinal is cheap, 20 a month. But they don't…

Cheers for losing 109, simply amazing!

I'm going to McDonald's for a couple hamburgers. Who shall I blame for this? My mother? Nah. My father? Nah. Hmm..maybe it's my choice. I'm no raving conservative, but COME ON. Enough already.

But hey Banks, thanks for posting this gripe, it really is the core as to why we are all here. Whether our parents didn't show us how to eat well, or society hasn't done this for those with crappy parents, it's the core as to why we're all here. It's about self control and making personal choices. Some don't have the…

Let's be real here. Please. It isn't all education. It's self-control. And don't harp on those who have medical conditions yadda yadda yadda. The majority of us are here because bad food tastes good and we have a lack of self-control for whatever stupid reason our parents screwed us up from childhood. I know that a…

Yeah, I took the Ruby Paine class. That's the creator by the way. We certainly do perceive things according to our knowledge base. It's sad though that people only know their own certain mindset which creates horrible health problems. You can't fix a culture that will never have the resources to understand, I guess that's…
