what bunchesonothing said. also: exercise will bring you those lost inches. when the scale doesn't budge for weeks on end, it's not your diet that you can hold up a measuring tape to for a bit of inspiration. it's your waist. there's a perfect post by shboss (?). it's in the newbies read this section. explains it…

I always make sure I have 100 calories left at the end of the night. I have a half cup ice cream scoop from a restaurant supply. I have a steady supply of sorbets, sorbetos, and sherbets - check the labels, the best ones are all at or around 100 calories per half cup. Just my MO. I like me my ice cream. Edited to add: I…

I can get up off of the floor without looking like a potato bug that had been flipped over.

Ummm .... this wasn't true for me. I *did* drop about 5 lbs right away. I knew it was water weight. But right after that, for a MONTH, it was like up two, down one, up one, down one, up two more, down one, up one ... etc. SOOOOO frustrating!!! Especially, because like you, I was at the beginning and didn't think I would…

What are you eating most of the time? I just ask because it seems that when I eat 'clean' food - lots of veggies, fruit, lean protein, nuts, really good carbs - then the cravings lessen significantly. But when I eat the trifecta combo of sugary/salty/fatty - and refined carbs - watch out, because I will get cravings that…

I really like Just Dance. It has an 'effort' tag for each song ... each song is a 1, 2, or 3 as far as effort goes. So I mix it up like this: 1 2 3 1 3 2 3 1 ... etc. I do 10 rounds. I usually burn around 400 calories, and it's the added benefit of interval training, by mixing up and combining the difficulty. I love it!

Other people on these boards have suggested cinnamon pills. I haven't tried them, but lots of people have recommended them.

hip hop ... doesn't even feel like exercise, and it burns calories like craaaaazy.

I wear clark's indigo at 225. I have a few pairs. They are comfortable for the first 6 or 7 hours ... by hour 12, they KILL. but I think any heel would kill after 12 hours.

We use 93/7 turkey, and we mix a packet of dry ranch dressing in with the turkey. omgyumyumyummyyum. personally, I think the 99/1 is too dry for a burger. That would be better suited for a recipe that needs pan fried crumbles.

I did weight watchers while breast feeding and very successfully lost 35 lbs. It CAN be done. But if you don't want to spend the $ on WW, you can ask a Lactation Consultant what your calories JUST for bf'ing should be. Then, set up MFP as if you were not bf'ing. Add your bf'ing in as exercise - cardiovascular -…

o_O I have 2 pkgs of this mix in my pantry that I've been pretending aren't there because I'm afraid of them - very afraid. I may try this, but are you SURE it's just a can of pureed black beans?

I'm a big fan of sherbets, sorbets, sorbetos and italian ice. The good ones have 100 cals or less per 1/2 cup. AND ... I have a half cup ice cream scoop that I got from a restaurant supply. Now, I make sure I've got 100 cals left at the end of my day, and something yummy in my freezer.

I have a Polar f4 and I love it ... but I will tell you that for me, it is not so terribly 'off' from the MFP calories. The one thing it does do is reflect my effort. Like right now I have shin splints and can barely get through the 30 Day Shred, and it showed on my HRM as 200 calories. Usually it is between 240 and 290.…

I wrap up 3 ounces of whatever deli lunch meat is on sale in 2 huge iceberg lettuce leaves with one slice of reduced fat swiss. Then I eat a banana and 1/3 c cottage cheese.

I was playing around with this in my brain while I was working out today, too. Trying to figure out the math. My toughest eating days are Wednesday and Sunday. I also tend to make those my rest days from exercise. I am thinking I will try to up my exercise to account for my 750 cal daily deficit, while always eating at…

My husband bought it. Basically the infomercials just wore him down, so I can't blame you. But if you read the materials, you use Sensa in addition to a 1200 calorie a day diet ... so, it's going to work. NOT because of the sensa, but because you are on a 1200 calorie a day diet. Same as the belly fat cure book diet. 1200…

My HRM consisently shows between 240 and 290, depending on my effort. I *know* when I've had a '290' day from the effort I give it. MFP was calling it 270 calories for me when I logged it as 25 minutes of circuit training, so ... not terribly off. But it's nice to know exactly.

First of all - GREAT JOB on an 11 lb loss!!!! That's really good. I'm am unhappily stuck at a 10 lb loss, so you've got an admirer here. Second of all - try to get past the hurt a little bit. Just analyze the doctor's statements. Was anything he said untrue? Was anything he said incorrect? Unsound advice? SOME doctors…

You can make a pasta salad, but with about 1/2 of the usual pasta. Also, make the italian dressing with 1/2 the oil - you won't even notice it's not there. Then pump it up with garbanzo and kidney beans, cucumber, grape tomatoes, olives, and blanched broccoli, carrots, green beans and cauliflower. Omg I just made myself…

There was a girl on here that did a TON of research on metabolism and her cycle. Basically, she found that during her luteal (ovulating) phase, her metabolism revved up significantly. Then, slowed way down at the end of her cycle/start of a new cycle. I am wondering if this is what you are experiencing? She adjusted her…

An average heart rate of 173 seems high-ish. That said, 255 cals burned for 30 minutes of high intensity cardio sounds about right. I have an FT4, and it says I burn 260 for the 30DS, which is 26 minutes in length.

This thread is EXACTLY why I want to stab out my own eyeballs when I try to get any more 'informed' about healthy food choices. I eat pretty clean. The main source of my sugar overage is my organic cane juice filled yogurt. But I stay well within my calories. I eat a lot of fruit and I always go way over on my sugar. And I…

You have will power. You do. You've just misplaced it. Go find it! :)

well ... i don't know how to make it at home, but I do have an idea: you could buy 1 medium, then saran wrap each piece and throw it in a ziplock in the freezer. when the craving hits - throw 1 slice in the toaster oven and eat a REALLY BIG SALAD while it toasts. just an idea.

I don't care what ANYONE says - exercising with little kids around is HARD. You can call it a 'yeah but', or an excuse, or an obstacle ... I don't care WHAT YOU CALL IT - I just call it hard. It's really, really hard. So was childbirth. ;) Sometimes the reward is worth the effort. Put a 30 minute show on for your kids. It…

bump ... because I'm in a similar situation. I am doing the 30DS, sticking to about 1500 calories and I am losing inches (I think). But I am definitely NOT losing weight. I keep doing things like circuit and interval training to boost my metabolism, but I cannot imagine eating 2700 calories per day. No way. Interested to…

After I had my csection, i had horrible core muscles. my trainer had me lie on my back, and hold a large beach ball between my calves and my glutes. Then I did reverse crunches while squeezing the ball. She said this would be easier on my back and would help all of the muscles that had been cut. They were hard at first,…

the flu. NOT the flue. I did NOT feel like I was coming down with a bad case of a chimney damper. Good grief, bad spelling makes my eyes burn.

I am doing the 30DS. I am on Day 15. I didn't eat my cals back at first and I got SUPER tired. Really low energy, like I had the flue. So now I eat them back, and I feel much better. I eat, on average, 1500 or so calories a day, and I do the 30DS 5 days a week. So far I have not lost weight, but I am definitely losing…
