  • I see you are eating 1 cup of cereal. Scale back this week to 3/4 cup, then next week to a half a cup. Use 1% milk. THEN - instead of eating an apple AND toast, eat an egg and toast or an egg and an apple. THEN ... once you are really in control (and you will get there!!!) - think about phasing it out altogether. Slowly,…
  • Loud. music. dance. works for me. may not work for you. I'm sorry you didn't get the job. I suggest lots and lots of bubble gum pop hits ala backstreet boys, brittney spears, nkotb, etc. good luck!
  • I LOVE this blog, and it might give you some good advice: http://fitnesswithnatalie.blogspot.com/2011/05/most-dreaded-word-in-weight-loss.html
  • -half a cup of lowfat cottage cheese with 1 banana or -half cup of vanilla greek yogurt with half cup of any fruit or 2 eggs, any way I like them plus one half of a mini bagel or one half of english muffin. Any of those combos for breakfast at 7 am and I am good until about 2 pm. Positively stuffed until noon, can't even…
  • Keep in mind - the HRM does not ACTUALLY MEASURE the amount of calories you burn. It is a good estimate, based on a formula built into the monitor, and on your heart rate while exercising. Better quality HRM will ask you your weight and resting HR. But at the end of the day, it's still an estimate. HTH! PS - I have a Polar…
  • My cousin's girlfriend's uncle has a PhD in YESorNO and he says that YES is absolutely the right answer. So you are a total blithering idiot for believing no. Clearly I am right and you are stupid. LOL - I love this.
  • YES!!! Thank you. Per my daughter's pediatrician, she is allowed to have as much full fat, sugary whatever that I can get into her, as she is very underweight for her height and age. Of course, we try to give things like string cheese and fruit, but sometimes it's cheetos cracker thingies which just look oh-so-delicious…
  • It's not 'hidden' ... it's private. Mine was private for a long time, well, because I am a private person. I don't talk about my periods with my girlfriends. I am fairly modest in a lot of respects. And I just like keeping certain things to myself. Keeping my diary private had nothing to do with avoiding comments, or being…
  • I used this once this summer. Then my stylist told me to never, ever, EVER use it again, and fixed my color for free because he was so horrified.
  • This. This is delicious. I love this iced coffee. But it's not very low-cal. Personally, I fill a glass with ice, then add coffee, then a quarter cup of fat free half and half and some sweetener. It's about 40 calories, to the pioneer woman's 200.
  • My kids love veggies, so I don't have an issue there. BUT - one of their favorite dishes is something I make with red potatoes. You could easily adapt this for broccoli and cauliflower, and i'm sure it would be delish. Microwave cubed red potatoes for about 5 minutes. (I would blanch veggies). Toss with just enough Italian…
  • Love it!!! My 5 year old told me this morning that my b**bies are thinner. Gotta love the littles.
  • Can you drink something? You can pack a lot of calories into a smoothie. Not a long term solution, I know, but until you can get back in to see your doctor, it might help. You can take a banana, a quarter cup of vanilla yogurt, a quarter cup of milk, and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter for an approximately 400 calorie…
  • I felt very flu-ish when I was working out really hard, but still trying to keep my calories very low. Even with an obese BMI, and a lot to lose, trying to lose more than 2 lbs a week was too much for me. I really thought I was getting sick. Then one afternoon I caved and ate a cupcake, and that day, all of the achy, yucky…
  • Yes. Yes, I believe that is the point of this site ..... for you. It may not be the point of this site for everyone. MFP is an incredible tool. I saw someone else call it a swiss army knife. And if you need a knife, then that may be all that you use the site for. But it's much more than a knife, and someone else may use it…
  • 47 seconds. Looking forward to seeing it grow... Fun challenge! Thanks!
  • I sautee it in a little bit of olive oil, then add rosemary, garlic and a squeeze of lemon with a pinch of zest ... OR again sautee in evoo, add thyme, garlic, splash of white wine. serve with brown rice and veggies. yum!
  • I don't use this app, but I have a thought - can you email the runs? If you can, then you can email it to a posterous blog, and have the posterous blog feed it out to fb and twitter. just a thought.
  • Ok, you lost me on a little bit of that, but I think I kind of got the jist of it. You may not like my advice, and not everyone will agree, but here it is. Be a good wife and mother. Part of being a good wife is shutting up when your mother in law is being a pill. Water off a duck's back. DO NOT let it affect your…
  • Only buying fruit and veggies that are in season will help. Right now, our Safeway has a HUGE 5 pound box of strawberries for $2.88. Bread/bagles/tortilla can be expensive, so buying them when they 'buy one get one free' also helps - you can freeze one loaf. Shopping once a week for the whole week will also help. You can…
  • I think 20 minutes of low intensity something or other - like a walk, as the other poster said, might actually go a ways toward making you feel better. AND ... drink lots and lots of water today.
  • I love the suggestions on this blog. It has totally changed the way I eat: http://fitnesswithnatalie.blogspot.com/2011/05/snack-time.html
  • WOW - you look GREAT!!!! I think if you're going to up your cals to maintenance, you may want to do some strength training as you go along to make sure that excess cals become muscle. But, yeah, you look really good! Great work!
  • I have this problem, too. You might not like my answer, but this is what worked for me: 1-going to bed earlier. sometimes MUCH earlier. 2-going to bed 'hungry'. now you know and I know that I'm not actually hungry ... but it sure felt that ways sometimes. That's what has worked for me.
  • I am munching my wheat toast with PB. But I am dreaming of Ben and Jerry's smores. MMMMMMMM. I wish I still lived next door, I would have to come and get some!!!
  • and then smack them. like a bad bad donkey.
  • I third the motion to call someone else. A friend's mom? Someone at your church?
  • I just did a search in my super duper internet search-a-ma-thingie, and I found a scientific, peer reviewed study, published in the Journal of Imaknowitall that states in no uncertain terms, that in fact, alisonbrice is NOT always wrong. So you are wrong. Again.
  • I get corrected with every single sentence that comes out of my mouth. By a 5 and 7 year old, none the less. Me: The sky is blue. 7: Well, not really, it's more of a purplish azure. Me: Eyeroll. I even have a title here in my house. I am the Mayor of Wrongville. You may address me as Her Majesty. Seriously, you have to…
