I'm wrong. It is hot and miserable in Maryland. I'll save my 70km challenge for another week...I'll shoot for 50km this week.

I've run 10k each day for the past 3 days. I'm considering going all crazy and doing it every day this week. It could be challenging since I had to leave on a business trip this morning but it is a little cooler and less humid in MD than TX...I might be able to manage an evening run tomorrow after work.

It should not be scooped directly from the package with your measuring spoon. It will over-pack and over-measure. It should be measured like flour (or other fluffy, powdered substances); lightly spooned into the measuring device and then levelled off. Of course, that's a pain to do with a tablespoon...so I just weigh it.

I think that Orgain makes a lactose free milk and protein shake.

I can run a 10k in an hour without stopping and I still have to stop a beat from time to time doing Shred!
-
In February, I ran an on road 5k for the first time in 20 years. Now it is the minimum run distance and I do a 10k at least once a week!

Which vitamins are you taking? I use Bariatric Advantage with iron and have had the best numbers of my life. Floradix mixed in with some Trop50 orange juice will also give you a good boost. Watch your caffeine intake; there are some indications that it can interfere with iron absorption.

I really liked the Wild Friends. They definitely have that protein added smell and flavor initially but were very tasty with a bit of dark chocolate and in my steel cut oats. I travel for work and they are convenient too for a satisfying snack treat on the go.

Amy's Organic vegetarian chili was a lifesaver to me when I got to soft foods and wanted some flavor. I had an extended full liquids phase due to re-hospitalization following surgery and mostly skipped purees.

Try pigeon pose and crescent lunges to help stretch and strengthen your hip flexors. Adding 30-60 minutes of power yoga a week has helped my running a lot.

My surgeon, Dr. Garth Davis, is a vegan and advocates it as a lifestyle even after surgery for many patients. He has a book called Proteinaholic. I've opted not to become a vegetarian or vegan (because...bacon), but he is well researched and regarded and I have been very happy with my success in his program. I don't count…

I'm going to look into a laser skin tightening treatment!

Thank you! Less than five pounds to a normal BMI. I think BMI is a crap indicator for individuals but I want to be normal SO BAD. Be proud of your journey! You're right. Not much was easy about it...lol, that's why I put it in quotation marks. Not the decision...it took me two years to decide. Not the preparation or two…

I know exactly how you feel. It was embarrassing that I let myself get to 285 pounds. I do share that I've lost 135 pounds with those who I know are cheering me on. Everyone else gets less detailed responses. I have an extra level of complication to weight loss discussions due to the fact that I had weight loss…

I'm planning on getting some sort of body composition test--DEXA or BodPod--done to help me decide next steps.

I ran my first 10k ever and finished 3rd in my age division!

Thank you...I am technically still at an overweight BMI but I've retained/gained a nice level of muscle mass. I'm not sure how much further I should lose until I see the doctor. I'm pretty lean...except for the loose skin!
-
Please also consider that you could be feeling a little more emotional and/or less logical right now. Fat governs quite a few hormonal activities and the release of said hormones during a period of rapid weight loss can wreak a little havoc. Combined with pain, fatigue, and low calories...not the best time for reflecting…

Now that I've reached my initial goal weight (yay!)...I'm going to only weigh once a week. I'm a little obsessive about my trend line. This could be hard. ...and I want to be 60 minutes or less on my 10k time. I'm not sure that I can shave 5 minutes in a month but I sure am going to give it a go.

I love these!

If you're in the US, Groupon has a set of kettle bells on right now...a 5, 10, and 15 for $40. They are definitely beginner level but I have had good success using them with Jillian Michaels Shred It with Weights DVD.

I bought a set of kettle bells from Groupon and do Jillian Michaels Shred It with Weights to great success.

Don't put liquid bandage on a fresh burn!

I am 5'4", 40 years old, and started at 285 pounds a little more than a year ago; I am now approaching 150. I've dealt with chronic pain for 20 years due to lupus and a repeatedly broken ankle. I walked and biked a lot in the first months; alternating between improving speed and distance. I also had access to a pool in the…

Most of what you describe in agriculture also applies to meet production. I second some counseling...

I think you should just go for a diet of soylent green...
-
Protein shake, a 10k, and leftover green curry.

I finished 3rd in my age division in the 10k I ran this morning with my husband!
-
Failing on all accounts...lol...and completely okay with it. We'll see how the 10k goes tomorrow; I strained my hamstring and I've been resting it.

I wish that there was a 'Sigh of Resignation' to go along with 'Like' and 'Awesome'.
