I use a polar in the gym because it interfaces with the equipment. For running outside, nothing beats my garmin 305.

It is probably the Niacin. Some multis make me sick too. I switched to gummy chewables and I don't have a problem anymore.

I am sub clinical with thyroiditis and my sister is also low thyroid. From what I understand, these foods interfere with the absorbtion of the synthetic thyroid hormone. You can still have them - just wait until an hour or so after medication.

First off, don't trust your scale for body fat. For some people (myself included) they are wildly inaccurate. If you are interested in your body fat, get a proper test done. The easiest way to flatten your belly is to practice good posture. Draw a line from hip bone to hip bone. Put your finger on the middle of this line then pull in your abdomen away from your finger.
